Personality:
Faara is generally carefree as a child, but as she grows she will find it important to prove herself as a worthy female in her pride. She doesn't want to let her mother down, but all the while she tries not to loose that 'spark' that makes Faara, well Faara! When she grows she will be picky who she mates with, wanting her children to have only the best genes so that she can give her pride the best offspring she can.
Faara is generally a cheerful character who likes to play and sing, but she has a serious side that arises every now and then. She is stubborn, and knows exactly what she likes. If things don't go her way she can turn into a scrapper; or if she believes she has no chance of winning she will sulk until her ego is healed.
Due to the enviroment she has been brought up in she will consider females more important than males, and so will likely have a slight superiority complex going on were they are concerned.

1. Describe your feelings about being the youngest in the pride
Prompt Reply:
Faara padded her way towards her mother with her head held high, although she knew she was the youngest she never felt like it. From the moment she had been brought into this world she had done her best to learn as much as she could and to find a place in the pride. Something she had yet to achieve.
She knew of another cub, slightly older than herself by the name of Sharubati. They had played a lot -mostly competitions in running and play fighting. Skills through play she had once been told. Faara liked playing, she liked the feeling of being free as she ran and ran. And part of her always imagined her playmate was her hunt, practising her pouncing and stalking skills ready for when she could hunt for real. She had much to learn.
Finally she reached her mother nuzzling into her before sitting beside her and tugging at her paw with her teeth. Looking up she chirped, "Do you think I will always be the youngest?" At the moment being the youngest was the only thing she had that made her 'special', she was not strong or fast like the older lionesses yet. She could not hunt or produce children -far too young for such things. In a way Faara felt lost and heavy, her smile almost replaced with a sadness that soon one of the other females would breed to produce yet more children -if they produced males they wouldn't bother Feera so much.... but girls! Well that was a whole other story.
As her beautiful mother shook her head her heart dropped in her chest. If she couldn't always be the youngest then she would needed something to be the best at. She just had to.... but what?
Only time would reveal Faara's fate, but one thing was sure. She would make a name for herself one way or another.

Meaning: Faith in Swahili

Personality: Imani is quite mature for being so young. Being around mainly adults she can't always be so playful. Having a friend almost her age isnt quite as bad, she still enjoys messing aroung and goofing off but she does it with precaution. She tends to have a calm and collected mind-set. She is wise and tends to listen more then talk since she is still a cub and is still learning the way of her pride. She does treat men as inferior to herself. Personaly she sees them as nothing more then eye-candy.She loves her moter dearly, as for her father she could care less about him, she never meet him and as far as she is concerned she doesnt care if she ever does. Having a friend closer to her age brings the more cub side of her because she doesn't feel like she has to put on a fake personality and can be more open to her. For male cubs she is bossy and mean to them. She wouldn't hurt them but she feels like there below her. In sum she has a feminist nature.

Prompt Reply: The mid day sun was just making its self known as Imani and her mother lay about the shade of a tree. Imani saw adults, thats all she ever saw. Her mother spoke of just one other cub, a little older. She wasnt one to play anyway, She didn't care to much of this older cub, on the outside she was a cub but on the inside she felt as old as all the adults. However it was nice to know there was someone she could talk to other then adults. She was youngest now but she knew that it wouldn't be long before another little batch of cubs comes along.
She lay there with her mother, her expression is stoic. She watches the lionesses, thinking about how she will be when she is older . She know she will always be too young or too old, except her and the other cub. They were all each other really had to call a friends. Yeah more would come sooner or later, but she doent want to hang around cubs when she starts to grow older. They would just hold her back, no no,she was fine being one of two of her own age.
She felt like she was born wrong,well she felt as though she was supposed to be an adult like the rest of them but she wasn't. She had nothing to do except roam the lands. She didn't like to play and she was to young for anything else so that really left her to explore or loaf around. She never liked to loaf around, to her it showed signs of weakness, she couldnt have that. Normally she would train herself when she roamed, she wants to show the others she wasnt just a cub. She would show them just how tough she was, she would prove herself if was the last thing she did, she would find a way, even if she had to go down without a fight...

Meaning: Blazing Sun // Swahili
Username: Velveteen Angel
Personality: Chaka is a normal girly cub, happy and confident in herself (the kind of confidence that can only come from a loving parent and a good home, which she considers her family and pride to be). Since she's the youngest, she tends to act older. She will hang out with the adults, talking about the weather and other problems, though she doesn't understand most of them. She likes to pretend she does though.
Of course, if mating comes up in a conversation, she'll go 'ewwww' and hum to block out their talking, claiming boys are icky still. This attitude won't really change as she grows, preferring female company to males since she knows she's much better than a male will ever be. She won't take a female mate, seeing as she has little interest in the whole 'mate' ideal and will instead be happy with a group of friends rather than the 'forever after' kind of fairy tale love. Plus, what if she fell in love with a male and he got kicked out? Devastation! It was far better to ignore males unless she wanted babies, and then she'd wait until someone worthy came along. She doesn't disapprove of males and will be courteous to them, but she knows she and the other females deserve the best male and really, it may take a few failures to find the best male possible, so she has to be cautious with her future genetics.
She idolises her mother and several of the other females in the pride, though she has no ambitions for a high rank. She's happy to be a part of the pride and knows every small member counts, so it didn't matter. She's the type that when she finds friends, she'll keep them for life and will likely always get along best with people who are older than her, though as a cub she'll be happy to play around and act as young as she is. There are just some times she'll crave adult conversations.
Prompt Chosen: 2. What is it like knowing your father was never in the pride?
Prompt Reply:
Chaka is aware that many cubs would be upset with the idea that her father was never in the pride and wouldn't be part of her life. Wasn't she meant to want a daddy? She's fairly sure she is, but it just...never crossed her mind. She had the females in the pride and her mommy who was more than enough for her, and they loved her, so why did she want a daddy?
Plus, since he was never in the pride, she could be whoever she wanted to be, and they would all just figure it was her father showing through in her. So her possibilities were endless! Really, being without a father was a bonus, not a hindrance. She doesn't know what he's like, so she can make up whatever she wants, be whoever she wants.
Chaka smiled to herself, stretched out on a rock lazily. In the distance, she could see a group of females talking amongst themselves and although they were all adults, and she was just a cub, Chaka's eyes lit up and she lept to her feet. Racing over to them, she careened into one of the female's legs and quickly apologised, peering up at them curiously as they continued their conversation.
She pulled a face as their words registered in her mind. Uck. Boys. She sighed and resigned herself to listening to the females talk, but was happy when the conversation shifted to hunting. She perked up, smiling up at them. “I caught a hare today!” Admittedly, it was old and she had let it go in the end, but still. She preened at the attention from the other females that she received and listened to them in fascination as they spoke of their own huntings recently.
Why did she need a daddy? She had the other females to help her, and guide her, not to mention her mother who was far better than a daddy could be. She wasn't missing out on anything, she decided. Not at all.
