Shiq'ai looked between the pair, and stared haplessly. She was confused, that was certain. "Sire, I would be honored to. Into mud and blood, the depths of the Shadowlands, I would dare follow thee with tail high as companion, assistant and an ear for your words..." She rubbed against the bar once more and stepped out from the unlocked cage. Oh! How glorious it felt to not be within the confines of metal!
She loped forward toward her clearly distraught master and purred soothingly. "Sire, there is no need to be unhappy. There are times where words can be both nuisance and a balm. Both to be taken in stride. If there is anything I can do to help sooth you, let me know." She said, a soft rasp to her happy voice.

Great. Wonderful. He had just obtained a slave with a speech problem, and another who spoke as if she'd obtained a higher education and medical training in mind healing. Mambe gave a great heaving mental sigh, his quiet life was gone now, but, perhaps, it was for the better. Spice was good in meals and life....in quantities. Instead of replying right away he made an indecipherable sound in his throat, not quite a growl not quite a whine, orange eyes scanning the cages around them. He'd had his fill of slave shopping, and he'd only purchased two of the four slaves he'd originally come for. It looks like he'd end up coming back at a later date, when his new slaves were well used to their new routines perhaps.
"I expect nothing less from you Shiq'ai," He rumbled at last, looking at her, "But I don't expect you to worship tha ground I walk on. I want Slaves who can think fer 'emselves. Ter know when ter push and when ta cave." He eyed Shornic as he spoke the last part. "I promise you this, I will be a fair Master. I wont beat you fer sommin stupid, I will beat you fer sommin dangerous. I will punish you fer direct disobedience, that means bein chained in tha dark with little food and enough water ter last the entire thing. If'n I think you need a...heavier paw I will send you to a training school and that will make you wish you'd listened ta me." He refrained from pacing as he spoke, pacing was a weakness, so he stood there calmly as he addressed the two before him. Shornic's outburst was the only one he was allowed since he now knew the reasons, any other would be used as an example. Or would be, after some more rules were laid down.

Shornic looked up from his shaded brow at the new master, memoric dilemma forgotten while he listened to the warnings, and found himself arguing with, you got it, himself, over whether or not he should retalliate, and settled for a shallow snarl that was barely audible even to attentive ears looking for it. "Kissup..." He grumbled over at Shiq'ai, his muzzle tilted as he did.
