No one should think they won't win. Geez, what kind of attitude is that? "Oh, I'll go to war but we're probably gonna get out butt kicked because the enemy is just plain better. But boy, it will be some adventure!". No. Just no.
A lot of people have surprised me around here, including you, Strifer. A rank doesn't mean anything in here; it's all about skill. I've been telling people lately that being a powerful fighter doesn't mean you can dodge every single move without an exception like a lot of people think. In my book, a scarred warrior is better than a flawless warrior.
I'm not a big fan of tournaments because most people usually come up with overpowered characters just to make their way to the finals. But this place is the exception. I'd like to think no one will do this in here. So we've all got a chance to win! The only way a guy would have the advantage is if he could summon a meteor out of the sky or something like that. But again, no one around here is prone to do that. So I don't see what the disadvantage is anyway.
Personally, I don't know if I'll win or not. I don't know if I'll just kick everyone's butt or if I'll be rejected in the first round. I'm 50/50 right now because I don't see what kind of advantage I have over anyone or what kind of advantage someone else has over me. And again, rank means nothing. If it was up to me, everyone would be rank A. If it was up to Darius, we'd all be rank B or C. It's just a matter of opinion.

It's not really that sort of attitude you're describing, K'. It's more like one of those things, where theres a tiny nation going up against a huge nation. The tiny nation is outmatched in many situations, but it wants to win. It wants to win badly. It wants to show what it's made of, by holding the large nation off until it decides, that the small nation isn't worth it anymore. Then the whole world changes it's view on the nation, and respects it. BUt the higher chance is that the small nation will get crushed, and the large nation will simply move on.
I don't believe I am skilled enough to win. Doesn't mean I wont try.
On a side note it's not that I think Classic Strifer is too weak to do anything, I feel like he'd be spending the vast majority dodging, and probably getting hit, against anyone who used anything more than a sword, which is a lot of people in here. He has extreme luck, but that only carries so far against a gun with accuracy or some magic.
Anyways, this thread took far too much of a turn to the serious side of things. I was honestly intending for people to simply get pumped for teh tourneys. In case my excessive use of smilies wasn't enough of a clue.

Ah, I see what you're getting at now. But still...if this was a movie, that nation wouldn't be defeated. Another nation would come to their aid and they would win. or a giant dragon would eat the enemy army. Not like that's likely to happen in the tournament...that'd be a bit weird. But yeah, I got your point.

So I don't see what the disadvantage is anyway. Aherm. Actually. Xeg has a scroll that let's him summon Meteors. I've mentioned it in Revres once or Twice. The scroll of Raining Fire. So, uh. Yeah. Maybe I won't let him do that when the tourney comes along.
