I used to be unable to eat any tomato without making a face, but now I eat cherry tomatoes like chips. So delicious.

What kind of half Italian were you!
I think a lot of food-dislike is mental. And the more you eat it the more you can kind of hardwire your brain to enjoy it.
Having said that, I still have a lot of foods I need to work on. sad

the first person who figured out that eating a tomato would not kill you must have been very brave
or very hungry!
they are part of the nightshade family so everybody naturally assumed they would kill you.
imagine, a world without pasta sauce!
the horror!

Considering that tomatoes are the product of the new world, I wonder what italian cuisine was like before then.

Lots of bread/pasta and olive oil. Kinda Greek/Mediterranean.
Also, cherry tomatoes are awesome. 3nodding
