Eirika sighed softly, this was not going very well. Much like her entire time on this new planet, since she arrived nothing had been going well for her. This small town was the only positive she came to find in the time she spent wandering utterly lost. But it didn't seem so welcoming. No one really wanted to help her, offer her free food or shelter. They all called for something of their own currency called GIL. Something she didn't have on her! "You truly will deny me a short rest all because I do not have this GIL you speak of? " What was she to do? Blurt out she was of royalty only to be laughed at next? No one would believe her, and she didn't really feel comfortable playing that royalty card anyway. "....Please, then will you tell me..Where can I find this GIL? What would be the quickest way to obtain it? "
"Get a job, like everyone else."
"..." Turning away, she decided not to further question him anymore. His attitude was horrible, and it was certainly not helping her feel any better. In the end, this one positive turned terrible. No one was going to help her here, and so, it was time to move on once again...and she was already so tired....
Another night under the stars, in the middle of no where seemed like it would be her new way of living if this bad luck continued. It may of sounded nice to some, but in a unknown world, sleeping on the grass, or in a monster infested forest....really was no fun to her. The further she traveled, it seemed like the monsters she did encounter only became stronger. It was pretty scary wandering like this, there was no way to know what was out there, especially come night fall.

And so, she would make her exit from the town..

"...I-it feels a little silly." The unnamed woman stammered out bashfully, looking down at her... outfit. It was... not... something that looked fitting for her.
"Oh, stop. You look adorable!" The kind woman reassured her. The woman had found her after she teleported here to await further orders from her father, and she found her bloody and with stab and slash wounds all over her clothes. The woman was kind, and a bit older in her years. "Used to belong to my daughter. Always thought it was a cute outfit."
"..." What a bizarre way to treat someone you didn't know. This woman was lucky she didn't attack on sight. Why would she be offering her this? What did she expect in return? "Name your price, then."
"Uh, what?"
"The clothes. You need someone killed? Just tell me who."
"Wh-what? No! The clothes are a gift, sweetie."
"A...?" Gift? What was that supposed to mean? "If you're wanting money, I don't carry any of your world's currency."
The woman gave her a weary smile. "No, just keep the outfit, okay? I don't want anything in return"
"..." The woman without a name narrowed her eyes, as if trying to figure something out. "...Nobody does something for nothing. Why would they? I'm not a fool. Are you trying to lower my guard? I can destroy your entire town in under a minute. You would be wise to-"
A somewhat hearty laughter interrupted her. "Oh, come now. I could see how toned you were when you so shamelessly undressed right in front of me to go take a shower. I would have to be some kind of stupid to try to fight you. I'm just trying to be kind. Nothing else to it, no ulterior motives. If you don't believe me, you can kill me. It doesn't really matter..."
"...I thought humans didn't want to die."
"Well, when they have things to live for, that's true." The woman nodded. "But my husband and my daughter have returned to the planet without me. I live out the rest of my time here because I know it's what they would want. But the thought of death isn't so scary to a person like me." She smiled somberly.
"..." Being a human sounded... difficult. She found it hard to imagine how they managed, being so weak and prone to death. Why would any of them be happy?
"Do you have any family, sweetie?"
"...I have a father. And... a brother, I suppose."
"That's good, that's good. Family is important. I hope you all stay in touch." She smiled. "I never asked your name! I'm Meredith. Who might you be?"
"...N-name?" Her brain scrambled for an answer. What did she mean? A name... Her brother, his friends called him Jake. And they called her father Caius. Is that what she meant? What was her "name," then? "I..."
"Oh, don't worry. You don't need to answer. Kids these days love having their secrets!" She laughed playfully.
"...I'm not a kid."
"Oh, but you do pout like one!" Her laughter became louder, which only increased the unnamed woman's apparent pouting.

Since returning to the town, she noticed it was a little busier then when she first arrived, and it seemed they were all looking at a young woman there, a woman she quickly noticed wasn't likely from this world at all, with her long pink hair and cute pink animal-like ears, she could take a guess where she came from. She must of been both confused and afraid, not to mention very uncomfortable with all the looks she was getting. She did stand out quite a bit. It took a moment to notice almost blending in with her pink hair, was the very pink bushy tail. It was time for her to step in! And so she did, with a big wave of her hand as she walked her way right through the crowd of people, smiling reassuringly as she approached her. "Hi there! Want to walk with me? It's a bit crowded.." She turned to the others, giving them a warning look, a look they quickly understood and began to part ways. Rinoa's angry face worked well for someone who was the happiest person on this planet, and probably any planet for that matter! "He,he..always works.." She whispered to her, starting to walk with her. "Are you Serenitian? If so, I know a bunch of them. I'm not from this world ether, but there is a place in the city of Midgar where we, all the off-worlders as we've come to call it, are staying. It's a safe haven for all of us, if you are interested? ...oh.! I'm Rinoa! Rinoa Heartilly.."
"Thank you! ..I was beginning to think everyone was mean. This is the second town I've found, and I haven't met any kind people.." Until now, that was. She smiled at her. "I'm Kiyori..I live in the kingdom of Serenity..Ah, well, I mean, until now! I'm relieved to know others from Serenity are here.." She didn't want to bombard her with a ton of questions, though, she figured the rest she would find out on her own. "If you think it would be alright with whom ever owns this place, I would very much love to! "

"Not the scary evil lair you probably expected..." The unnamed demonic woman muttered as she showed Phoenix around the abandoned mansion which she and her father had been covertly using as a home base. She didn't know if Phoenix had been here already, but it probably didn't matter much either way. She turned to Phoenix, smiling a little too happily at her. Despite Phoenix's aggressive and negative mentality while corrupted, this girl was the one person she wouldn't feel that way towards. She wouldn't feel in love with her or anything, but more so like she needed to follow her commands and protect her. It was like having a sort of royal/retainer relationship. "Uh, I haven't really had anyone to talk to in a while. I was talking to this old lady who lives in the town near here, uh... she's nice..." If anyone actually paid attention to her speech patterns when she first attacked Avalanche versus now, it was a lot different. She was talking a lot less like a sadistic demon and a lot more like an ordinary girl. ...For the most part. That was due to this older woman she had been speaking to rather frequently ever since her act of kindness. "But I think my father was getting suspicious, so... I haven't talked to her in a while. I hope she's doing well." The woman was very lonely, because most of her family had died in some conflict a few years ago or passed on. And this woman was lonely because the only person she had to talk to other than the other woman was her father who saw her as a tool to be used and discarded when it no longer had value. Not the most riveting conversations there. "Humans are weird. There's a lot that are evil, but there's a bunch that are nice, too. For no reason. That lady helped me and didn't want anything in return. I don't get it." She sat down on one of the beds, leaning back and sighing. "What about you? What's your family- err..." She wouldn't really be able to answer that properly right now, would she? The unnamed woman sighed softly. "I've never had a friend my own age, so I don't know what to talk about. I grew up, uh... isolated. My father was there, and there were other demons too, but none of them spoke." She rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. It was a little sad that she considered THIS--corrupting someone to force them to like her--to be friendship. It was the closest thing she had ever had, really. "Oh, we have something in common! We both only have dads..." She leaned forward, resting her head on her hands. "I never knew my mother. I know she was one of those demons in that world with us. My brother somehow reversed her demonification, and she immediately killed herself. Father thinks I don't know. I wish he was right." It never really rubbed her the wrong way before, but after meeting the kind older woman, and beginning to process actual emotions, she kept going back to that in her head. "Why did she do that..." And there was that question Why? That question that had been plaguing her since she began to process her emotions. Why? Why... "She was a Serenitian before. That's what Jake said. They all were. I thought they'd be happy to become demons. I thought father was doing the right thing.
"...So why did she do that?" Her words felt so far away, even to her. It wasn't like she expected Phoenix to have an answer for her. Even if she wasn't corrupted, she'd likely have no idea how to respond to that. Who would?

"Hm.." Phoenix briefly look a glance around her new surroundings, this was a place she hadn't stepped foot in, in forever, it seemed. She remembered it from the memories of the many cycles she saw that day, but that memory came as a shocking, literal pain the second it came to her. Old painful memories were not welcome while she was in this state, it seemed. Of course, she didn't know what was happening, her mind was so very mixed up as the demonic influence kept her so well in line, enough that she wouldn't be much trouble. Her only desires were to see the unnamed woman safe from any threat, and those threats were now Avalanche, and any other Serenitains, anyone who stood against her was now her enemy..
"You..might not find me as your best conversationalist choice.." Phoenix was pretty antisocial in normal terms, but while she was as she was now, that increased quite a lot, which probably wasn't what was hoped for by her new 'friend' there. "I don't know. I don't trust anyone anymore. I left what remaining feelings I had far behind when my world was taken from me. I could care less about anything, you, on the other hand...are a special case I feel I need to protect, and so I will do that...the rest of the world, it can perish for all I care..Our mothers are better off not being stuck in this world..Your mother only brought peace to herself. "

"Th-that's fine. I'm just- uh..." She averted her eyes, letting out a soft sigh. "Um... it doesn't matter." Just lonely. The idea of using Phoenix against her father or Avalanche or anything else was a distant second in the reason she wanted to do this. She felt she desperately needed someone to speak with, ever since she had stopped speaking to the older woman. As Phoenix went on to state her opinion on the matter, the unnamed woman slowly lowered her head, closing her eyes. "Maybe you're right..." She said softly. "Maybe that's why father is in the right. Maybe he's just saving people from... living." Was it really that simple? She didn't know anymore. She thought for so long she understood everything perfectly, but the more she came to terms with her emotions, the more she questioned everything she was raised to believe. But that wasn't how it was supposed to be. She wasn't being a proper daughter. Her father was right. ...Right? "...Um... So... Phoenix is a... nice name. Unisha too. I... er... I was wondering..." She raised her gaze, before lowering it again nervously. "I-I don't need a name, of course... if I did, father would've given me one. But I... I thought it might be nice- er, fun... if... Well, do you w-want to give me a-" She cut herself off, inhaling sharply, and quickly shooting to her feet, turning to the open doorway. A moment later, a familiar, heavily armored demon stormed in. "F-father!"
"..." His eyes from behind his helmet stayed on his daughter for only a moment, before going to Phoenix. "The second daughter of Eskallion. Well done, daughter."
"...O-of course. I also defeated Unisha! But I wasn't able to finish her off..."
"Hmm. I expect you to do better in the future. Still, this success is greater than that failure, so you won't be punished." Caius walked to Phoenix, grabbing her by the throat suddenly.
"...W-wait!" She shrieked frantically, causing Caius's head to snap towards her aggressively. "If we- we could use her! There's no need to kill her. She's corrupted! Eskallion and Unisha surely won't have the spine to fight her, right?"
"A fine idea, daughter. Still, there's no need to leave her with free will." Phoenix would feel herself begin to twist further, as her emotions began to slowly become distant from her--she'd feel her individuality slowly being taken away from her as Caius began demonification.
"...NO!" She acted on instinct, the fear of losing her "new friend" causing her to slam her fist against her father's torso, sending him flying backwards and through a wall. The demonification ceased immediately, and Phoenix would be returned back to how she had been before--corrupted, but still aware and individual. The unnamed woman stood there, frozen, eyes wide, completely shocked by what she had done. Still, that was soon replaced with horror as her father picked himself up and stormed towards her. "W-wait, I-"
"You dare?!" He grabbed her by the throat, lifting her off her feet. "I, who gave you life? You dare raise a hand against me?! Are you like that brother of yours?!"
"No! No, I... I can explain!" She said desperately inbetween shallow breaths, as her air flow was being compromised. "The demonification... can't be reversed! Eskallion knows that! If she's only corrupted, he won't fight her...! But if she's demonified, he'll just kill her...!"
"...You make a compelling argument. But don't think I don't see through you, daughter. You're becoming too soft." He threw her harshly against the wall, letting her fall forward to her hands and knees, gasping for air. "Do that again and it will be your last conscious mistake. You're a stronger tool with your will intact, but I will gladly rend it from you if you force my hand." He turned his gaze to Phoenix hatefully, before turning. "Get ready. We move against them soon." He knew where they were--in Modeoheim. With this new ammunition, he felt even more confident in attacking.

Phoenix barely seemed to have any interest in speaking, much as she had no interest in sitting down, or making herself comfortable, it was strange how odd and out of place she felt, yet she couldn't seem to understand why, nor do anything about it. All she could do was feel compelled to listen to this woman, and find ways to help her. But how? There wasn't a lot she could do in her current state to speak from her once uncorrupted heart, though she was never very good at that sort of thing to begin with. That was..Unisha's job. "...It would be easier to talk to you, if you had one.." A name, of course. It was a strange awkward feeling, feeling so full of desire to protect this woman, yet she knew nothing of her, nor did she know her name. Could she even think of one for her?
It seemed the time to even try to think of some kind of name for her would have to wait, what with their new company. As Phoenix's crimson eyes rested on the heavily armored demon, she felt another sensation of heavy confusion come over her, there was hate, so very much hate for this man, yet like with the woman of no name, she couldn't shake off the feeling to be there for them...she couldn't talk back, or fight back against him even if in some way she felt the desire to. Her only real reaction to his sudden attack on her was her hands attempting to pry his gauntlet covered hands away from her throat no no success as he attempted the demonification process.

A process that would fail the moment the one she felt so protective of, decided to act against him, freeing her from his grasp as Caius was slammed into one of the walls of the mansion. Phoenix still made no real moves against him, nor did she rush to help her when he so violently took hold of his daughter the way that he did. There was one thing she was certain about, though, even in the mind state that she was in, she could see how much he hated his daughter. "..I will make them suffer, I will make them all suffer..and to do that I will need her. If you bring any harm to her again, it could also be your last..." How true that was, well, probably not t rue at all, though who really know what Phoenix was capable of in this mind state? For all he knew, with little care of anyone and a completely dead heart, she may be more powerful then even before. There was nothing to stop her from taking life away from anyone, or anything...

She just needed to talk to her again.
That older woman who had helped her before, who had made her begin to have doubts about what she was doing. Every time she talked to her, she had a much easier time sorting through her emotions. She had stayed away so that her father wouldn't discover she had been speaking to a human, but she had to talk to her now. She had to.
It had felt like so long since she had stood in this town... this small town full of humans. Their lives were comparably small. They weren't trying to save the world, they weren't trying to change the world. They were just living their lives with their family. History would forget them, but they didn't care. For a stretch of time, when she spoke with the older woman often, she also became acquainted with many of the townspeople. She couldn't help but smile when she had finally returned here. ...But why did it seem so quiet? Her smile fell, and she began to look around. It wasn't as though it was usually loud, but the quiet now was... eerie. There was no sound whatsoever. No chattering behind closed doors, no muffled playing of children. Nothing.
She walked towards the inn first, and right when she opened the door, her expression turned to horror--the man and woman who ran the inn, along with their two children, lay dead there behind the door. Butchered mercilessly. Those... children had been so nice to her. Why were they...? Who could...?
She stumbled back in horror, and finally the reason for the eerie silence clicked in her mind.
And she ran.
She sprinted to the older woman's house, bursting through the door right when she arrived. "Janet!" She screamed as she went through the door, calling the woman's name in desperation. And yet what awaited her was even more horrifying--that woman who had helped her so much, painfully crucified to the wall, with horrific slash wounds all over her body. Her stomach had been cut open, and her intestines had been ripped out and strewn over the floor in particularly gruesome fashion, and several wounds on her body were nonfatal, indicating that she had been brutally tortured before she had finally been killed--likely by her throat which had been ripped open. Her eyeballs had been removed, her tongue had been cut out... The demonic woman wanted to cover her eyes and turn away, but the sheer, unbelievable horror of it all made it almost impossible to see anything else. Even when she was able to get away from this, this horrific sight would never leave her mind. This was... deeply scarring. And for someone she cared for so much... "...Why?!" Who could possibly do something so terrible to someone who didn't deserve it? She was just... living... here. They all were. They weren't hurting anyone.

"...You must have thought me a fool." Came a familiar voice, as someone stood there nearby. In her haze, she hadn't even realized he was there, covered in blood, his armor still torn and his wound from Siegmund still in his skin. "You really thought I didn't know you were consorting with these humans? I didn't care, but you've grown soft. I won't abide that anymore." The unnamed woman's eyes remained wide, as she didn't turn to look at him. She just... stood there. Unresponsive. "Hmph. Too terrified to speak? You may have made critical mistakes with Phoenix, but I'm willing to forgive you, only because you're my daughter. But from now on, you will not-"
"You..." She began to shake, and her pink eyes began to turn a blood red color as she felt... rage unlike anything she could've imagined boiling inside her. "You... How could you... they were... innocent...!" A dark aura began to pulsate violently out of her.
"You dare to question me? What do I care if they're innocent? Their lives are worth nothing. It's tantamount to crushing a bug beneath my boot. You've grown far too soft--you must be reeducated, that we are so far above pathetic humans. Besides... it's YOUR fault. If you had never consorted with them, they would still be alive."
"...No..." She covered her face, her eyes widening. "No, no, no... You... You...!!" She turned her wide, enraged eyes at him as she summoned her scythe, slashing directly down his torso.
"Wha-!" He let out a grunt, taking a step back in shock. "How... dare you! I gave you life, you obey me!"
She bared her teeth in fury as her enraged eyes locked onto her target. "I'm going to ******** kill you!!" She plunged her scythe into his chest, before turning and using that to hurl him against the wall. Immediately coming upon him, she stomped onto his back, pinning him between her boot and the wall as she raised her scythe, striking directly into an exposed part of his upper arm, tearing through his flesh and attempting to grind through it to completely sever his arm. Though she did considerable damage, he sent out a demonic surge of energy, enough to push her back. He summoned his greatsword, turning and slicing clean through her scythe's shaft, cutting it in half. She only became more angry, dropping her scythe and slamming her palm into his face, before grabbing him by the arm she had cut into and yanking with all her strength--once, twice, and finally on the third, she ripped his arm right off his body, causing him to scream in pain as she tossed the arm behind her like trash. "You deserve worse!" She stepped towards him, and though he sliced through her torso, it barely seemed to slow her as she punched him in the face twice, and he swiped his sword, once again carving through her torso and once again barely eliciting any response. She grabbed him by the throat, before rearing her other arm back and plunging it straight through his chest at the wound left by Siegmund and out the other side, eliciting a pained gasp from her dear father. His greatsword clattered to the ground as he released it from the pain, and she turned, ripping her arm out and slamming him onto the ground. "I hope it hurts!" She reached down, lifting his greatsword and bringing it straight down onto one of his legs, severing large chunks of flesh before dropping the greatsword and grabbing the leg, yanking it, and it only took one powerful pull to rip his leg off him. Her eyes were still wide, filled with rage as she ignored his pained screaming, stomping down onto his back and lifting his greatsword back up, raising it high and plunging it straight down.
Straight down towards his neck.
