There just practice games to me to see who gets the starting jobs and see your team in action.

They scare the hell out of me to be honest. Its just an opportunity for you're teams starters to get hurt (like my bucs QB Josh Freeman did this year, although he will be fine for week1). Other than that I do enjoy watching the starting untis go at it, its better than having no football at all, but at the same time after about week 2 I drags on. Pre-season needs to be shortened to Week 1 game, Week 2 off Week 3 game. Week 4 start of the regular season. Or not even have a week off in between. Either way pre season serves a purpose but it is too long.

I think it has its ups and downs.
Ups
- We can finally watch football after we haven't seen any of it in 6 months.
- A chance too see how teams and players have developed over the offseason, and get look at players teams have acquired in the offseason.
- It gives rookies a feel what it feels like in the Pros, before the games actually start to matter
- Gives backups and rookies a chance to show they deserve a better spot on the Depth Chart.

Downs
- As said before, players have a chance to get injured.
- We have to hear bitches complain about how Preseason sucks.
- Fans have to wait for the real action to begin.

Whoops.

Ugh, sorry Bagels. I skimmed your post and was going to quote you saying I agreed with most of what you said but then changed my mind. Turns out instead of hitting the "Quote" Button I hit the edit button. :l Again, so sorry Bagels. If I could remember what you said I'd Edit it back but can't remember it.

I actually like preseason games. You learn a lot about the coaching style and what will happen if you have injuries. You learn where the coach thinks the team is. Such as if he has the starters in for a few plays he wants them to be ready to go through the motions and just make sure the rust is off but really wants to see the back ups in real game situations. It lets fans see how good he thinks the second string is too because they get to see them out there, and lets them see how long they play before they move on to third string. This gives you a view into your team mid or end of the season when your stars might be hurt or injured. Its a view into those momments when you will need a player to stand up. Its a view into the real character of your team. Not your star named talent all the time but your real team character that will be the difference between you surviving the playoffs and making that next step and you finding your just to injured to put your best team out on the field. This is also where the walk on tryouts can really shine. Some of those players that play in those games will never see the field again. I think they desirve to have their momment on national television. Those practice team guys make the players who you do see and love as good as they are. If you practice hard then you will be able to play hard. And hey it gives teams that will very rarely win a game and oppertunity to win some even if they don't count. So yes there is a chance of injury but if you really want to see your team, not just omg I love ________ he is my hero, then pregame gives you that just as much as a regular season game. And the players can get hurt in practice, they can get hurt walking around. I would rather them get hurt in the preseason and have a chance to get better by the playoffs then three games in the season hopeing that if my team can get the superbowl they can play, cause if my team can get to the superbowl without them, are they really that intergral?
