Seele

User Image

After a hard-fought battle, Dimitri managed to repel the SOLDIERs, and when whoever was watching realized the battle was one of attrition, those allied with Shinra were ordered to retreat.
"How boring, I was just getting warmed up." Tartaglia shoved Seele backwards off his Hydro daggers, before jumping up into the awaiting helicopter, which began to raise after. "I hope we can fight again--and next time, until one of us can't fight anymore!" Her skill and speed were very impressive--it was hard to make himself retreat. But the promise of new, greater battle was more than he could resist.
Stepping backwards, Seele turned towards Dimitri with a fierce look, who met her eyes, not lowering his guard.
"We don't need to- ngh!" He barely managed to raise Areadbhar in time to block her strike, as she closed the great distance between them in the blink of an eye. He shoved her backwards from their collision, and she was forced backwards so powerfully she stumbled backwards and fell off her feet, though quickly recovered into a deft backwards roll. "Stop! We don't have to fight!"
"..." How could she trust him? Any of them? The man she had just fought tried to lower her guard moments before his ally tried to kill her (or at least, she believed he tried to kill her). No, she didn't survive this long by letting strangers close enough to stab her in the back. "I don't trust any of you!" She spat, standing quickly and lowering, looking like a predator ready to attack. "Disappear among the sea of butterflies!" She charged forward, fading amongst a swarm of illusory butterflies, only visible for milliseconds at a time as she neared Dimitri--appearing to be all around him and not at all in the same visceral instant. Though Dimitri raised his lance to guard, he didn't know from which direction to guard, and the answer was--all of them. As all of her scythe's slices converged together in a single moment, they all tore through Dimitri's flesh from all sides at absurd speed, feeling as though it were an implosion of blades.
"Gah!!" He shouted in pain, blood immediately spilling from several areas of his body as he dropped down to one knee, his eye widening in both pain and adrenaline. Seele reappeared in front of him, raising her scythe to apparently dispatch him, but he reacted on instinct, slicing Areadbhar upwards with unrelenting fury as he activated Atrocity--ripping the air apart around her and consuming her form with a crimson energy that tore through her and carried her into the air and sent her several feet backwards. A devastating ability on its own, but the Crest of Blaiddyd he carried empowered his attack much further, doubling the amount of damage she received.
"Cagh!" She coughed out in agony from the attack, similarly bloodied from his attack as he was from hers. She landed on the ground several feet in front of him, forcing herself desperately against her pain to roll away and raise herself to a crouching position, facing her opposition.
"I don't... want to kill you!" Dimitri said through bared teeth.
Breathing heavily and clutching her stomach in severe pain, Seele felt blood crawling down her face as she looked between the three in front of her. In her current state, she didn't like her chances of victory. "...!" She grunted, turning as she activated her stealth, completely vanishing from their sight and sprinting away, carried entirely by adrenaline. She needed to find a safe spot before she collapsed from pain and blood loss.
"...Ugh." Dimitri forced himself to his feet, one hand holding Areadbhar while the other clutched his stomach. He turned towards the ones whom he had protected, taking a cautionary step backwards. "I hope I don't have to fight you next." He said with similar caution, trying to figure out exactly where he stood here, and what their intentions were. Even though he had decided to defend them, he had no idea where he was, or who they were.

A violent spasm from the Tear sent out a shockwave through the entire area, before the Tear erupted with light. Instead of placing the outworlder kindly on his feet, he was flung from the light in the same moment he materialized within, landing with a hard thud, skidding across the ground for several feet. A process that wasn't made any softer by his armor. "Ugh, hells... What now?" He asked no one in particular as he forced himself up, then to his feet, dusting himself off. What more could the world really want with him? Little did he know that the world being referred to was not the one he was familiar with. Though he might start to get some idea, as he was surrounded by men in unfamiliar garb, swords drawn. "...Hold, now. I didn't come here to fight." He said, as though he had any choice in the matter of "coming here" at all. Steps behind him allowed him to react on instinct, dodging an incoming slice and grabbing the attacker by the wrist, kicking him harshly in the gut and, upon one in front of him starting to step towards him, he hurled the blade at him, the sword impaling him through the chest and putting him down. It seemed he wouldn't be able to talk his way out of this particular confrontation, and he let out a short grimace as he reached for the greatsword on his back. "Well, so much for peace..." He muttered to himself as the enemies surrounding him closed in on him. Drawing his blade with speed, the Paladin deflected a blow in the same motion before raising his blade through his attacker's torso and quickly turning to cleave through three other adversaries.
Luckily, this wasn't his first rodeo--and far from the worst odds he had ever succeeded against.

Hidden within the clouds out of the sight of anyone below, was a certain fiery bird, having been the easily bored princess that she was, and the thrill seeker that she was, she decided to do a sort of stake out, hiding from above the oblivious soldiers below, just hoping that something would happen. Someone would come through that portal sometime! Though there were the chances no one would come through, it really was a mystery and completely random at when one appeared here in this world by it's mysterious power. Whatever it was.
But it seemed, she wouldn't have to wait much longer as the activities of the Tear began to signal something was about to come through. Phoenix's eye sight in this form was pretty incredible, and while they wouldn't see her , she could see everything happening from above the clouds. "Hmph...It's about time.." As if she waited there forever! This...was her favorite part..
Suddenly taking a dive down, she went straight down like a bullet, Giving the greatest scare of their little lives for the soldiers below. If they knew anything about the Serenitian known as Phoenix, they knew her fire was no joke, and they definitely didn't want to be caught up in it. "Quickly answer...Are you good or bad? " Keeping it as simple as ever, she'd rather not toast him if he was truly a good guy. "Answer quickly, I'd rather not hurt an innocent. ShinRa here, on the other hand....are about to get very hot. So move,if you are with good intentions! " The off-worlder would hear in his mind.. "Above you.." She warned. This way, he would be aware the voice in his head was coming from the giant bird in the sky, diving down for them, and not attack her too!

Channeling holy energy through his blade, Orion continued to cut through his adversaries, and unfortunately for Phoenix, by the time she arrived, there was only one foe remaining. The voice in his head drew his attention away for a moment, enough that his last foe managed to get a good slash against his arm. His armor held, but it didn't feel pleasant--and Orion would respond by kicking him in the gut and driving his greatsword through his torso. Ripping the sword out, he looked around himself, attempting to discern the origin for the voice in his head. He had rather liked having no more voices in his head after that tadpole business was finished--how exactly was this happening now? At least it wasn't that unfamiliar to him, which is why he wasn't too distracted by it during battle. Letting out a short sigh, he raised an arm, channeling holy magic through his being with his Lay on Hands spell to heal himself of his wounds. Looking up at last, Orion took a step backwards. "Good or bad, I suppose that depends on your definition." He pointed out. "I'm a Paladin in service to the Oath of the Ancients. That should give you an idea on where I stand." Or it wouldn't, because none of that would mean anything in this world. But how could he know that. Still, his use of holy magic may be some indication.

Who would have thought, by the time she actually got down there, everyone of them would be taken down? It was a very disappointing surprise to her. Though she did kind of notice on her way down, his use of holy energy. Not something an enemy would typically use.
Just before touching ground, the giant Phoenix would suddenly vanish in a burst of flames, and descending down from those flames was the crimson haired teenager, landing oh-so-coolly on the ground. Already, he might notice the disappointed look to her face as she took a glance around. Bodies everywhere, and all taken out in less then a few seconds. "You're use of holy light is proof enough, I suppose.." She finally glanced in his direction. It wasn't hard to see how clearly of a unique off-worlder he was. "Guess I'll be the one to break it to you, if you haven't figured it out yet...Whatever world you're from, decided it wanted to throw you here, in the world of Gaia, instead..I myself am not from here, but like you, and many, many others..were all kind of stuck here. I'm with a group that helps all the good off-worlders, this group here on the other hand..want us all for their own use, experimentation, or thier own little tools, from what I heard. They are part of an organization called ShinRa. So be careful around them.. a person like you, your skills and powers will interest them.." She explained, best get this over with. He probably needed to know everything right away, that was best. "Avalanche, the group i'm with are good people, if you feel like you can trust me..I can take you to the city of Marvel, where most of us stay at the castle. We could always use the extra help with all the crazies coming into the world.." She paused, crossing her arms. "...If you can't fly or something....this is a one time deal, I'm no taxi service...So, will you come with me? Otherwise, you will be in for a long walk and risk more of these idiots chasing you down. "

"Heeeeeey!!! Phoenix! What are you doing there? " The voice of Hiyori came over....well, everywhere around them. It wasn't to loud, but just enough that anyone there could hear her comfortably. They wouldn't be able to tell exactly where the voice was coming from, or rather, the speaker. She was pretty cleaver in not making that easy, otherwise, ShinRa soldiers could have destroyed everything long ago. "Are you guys alright? Hi new person! Welcome to the new world! " Probably not a joyful occasion for him, but hey. He might feel a little at ease to know there was friendly people here? To bad it wasn't her there, rather then the moody Phoenix! He would feel so welcome! ...Or run away from her...
"That was pretty cool, you handled those guys quicker then even silly Phoenix there could get to them. That must make you want to die, huh Phoenix? "
Poor birdie. Having to put up with Hiyori even when she wasn't even there! "Okay, in all seriousness...you should probably head back here. I see something on the radar that looks like it's headed your way. Fly little bird, be quick! " She could make a few jokes here and there, she knew Phoenix was fast, and if she flew with the new arrival at her back, they could out run whatever was coming pretty easily.

When the bird turned into a small-framed girl who looked no older than sixteen, Orion truly realized how bizarre his life had been, that this wasn't even in the top 3 strangest things he had ever seen. "The bird turns into a girl. All right..." He accepted the situation about as quickly as he could. At least she didn't turn into a Slayer. Or a gods damned Mindflayer. Putting his hands to his hips, he listened as she callously explained his situation. Some different world? Well, with the realms connected to his world, it wasn't such a bizarre concept. But he didn't feel as though this was the same sort of thing. "A new world. Well, thank you for the... direct explanation." Not very tactful, but given she was also taken from her home, he could surmise she wasn't too happy about the situation. "So, to summarize... I'm in a new world, this group you refer to as Shinra is on the side of evil, and Avalanche is "good." Is that the gist of it?" Lowering his arms now, he pondered for a moment. "But what do you consider to be good and evil? If I'm in another world, our definitions could be incompatible. When I became a Paladin, I swore an oath--the Oath of the Ancients. Since I assume you have no idea what this is, I will explain. My oath demands I kindle the light wherever I go. Even when the bleakest darkness threatens to snuff out light, it is my duty to preserve and protect that light. Not necessarily literal light, mind you... the idea of light in a cosmic sense. Hope, love, compassion. Where love blooms, it's my duty to stand against the devilry that would snip its stem. And finally, I must preserve my own light, and protect it, delighting in culture and small joys wherever they may be to protect that light within me. If your Avalanche would see any of these tenants denied, I would stand in opposition to them. It is my job not only to protect the innocent and the love they share, but also to preserve the sanctity of nature. Are we on the same page?" Perhaps he took this too seriously... but he was a rather down-to-earth and agreeable person in most situations. But this oath defined his virtues and his beliefs. To say it was important to him would be comparable to saying Phoenix's sister or father was important to her--it practically went without saying. With those being his greatest values, ironically enough, he'd likely get along with many Serenitians--preserving love and nature was a big thing for them. "If I can't-? No, I can't fly without a wizard or the like to grant me that power." Perhaps if Gale or Wyll were here, things would be different. Then would come the next voice, which seemed to be coming from some kind of object, which made Orion make assumptions about the magic being used, but he'd likely have to leave many notions he was familiar with behind him. "Can you hear me?" He assumed so, since the voice seemed like it was trying to converse with him. After being told to go with the red-haired girl twice now, he turned, looking towards the tear in space behind him. "...Is that where I came out of?" He paused a moment. "...Well, I was with somebody. Is it possible sh- they... may follow me here? Should I not wait for that?" Logically, if he was pulled here, he'd assume anyone in close proximity may be pulled in as well. Still, he was likely to be disappointed. Not that he would want that person to follow him here. They had been through quite enough hardship already, and they deserved quite an extended vacation. But it seemed his would be cut short.

"Sorry, uh..It's not the first time I had to explain this. It just comes naturally by now.." Was she supposed to show some kind of compassion for the new visitors? Surly a lot of them were pretty confused and scared, and Phoenix didn't do a great job at making people feel better about the new life style they would have to adapt to! "Isn't it better to be informed right away? " She shrugged her shoulders, before nodding to his question. "Ah, suspicious. That's understandable of course. Alright..Not the word I just openly decide to mention to the world, though I suppose most of it already knows who I am." She held out her hand, and forming there in her palm would appear a shpere of holy light. Being such a person of light, he would easily feel it's holy energy, possibly greater then what he might of been used to in his world. "In my world, I'm from the Kingdom of Serenity. Princess Phoenix........Pay no mind to...that title, however..I'm nothing here, and hardly your princessy figure. My older sister is the perfect example of the perfect little princess.." She seemed so embarrassed to speak of herself as a princess, it was quite silly! Anyway.."There are several other kingdoms, though Serenity is a very holy kind of light Kingdom. There was a time when it was nothing but that light, peaceful, beautiful. Not like this world.." A world with monsters at every turn, corrupt cities and many terrible humans, far from the peacefulness of Serenity. "I know I can't prove any of this being here in this world now, but perhaps someone like yourself can sense the holy light that surrounds myself, and the others like me. My kind is known as Serenitian, some of us have a unique abiltity, like myself...as you seen... to change into our other form. All of us have a strong connection with nature, and you might meet a few of us who go a little to crazy to protect it. Like the Ocean Kingdom princess, she'll send you to the bottom of the sea if you try to hurt one fish in front of her...................That was...a joke. Sort of. The bottom of the sea part was! " She was really terrible with her jokes, but she had a feeling lightening the mood a bit might help break his paranoia and seriousness at least a little. "....To not go on and bore you with more details...Yes, you'll find that Avalanche is on the same page with you. They only want to do the right thing, protect the innocent, you know, all that touchy stuff.." "...Wow, That's the most I've heard out of Phoenix in ..well, maybe forever? Useually she's so quiet and moody, and distant! Moody princess!! " Hiyori was such a great help right now! "Heh! " She probably should stop, though. "Yes, that's what you came out of. It's really very random, unfortunately. There is no telling when it will be active again, or when someone will show up. But don't worry. You see, I can see you both from the safety of home, I can see who comes through at any time, I set everything up so it will notify me when the Tear is active, and from there I can watch it and hopefully, well, give the new comer's advice on where to go and guide them that way. But those people you encountered, are a huge pain..They are always showing up in wait for the next person that arrives.." She paused a moment, clearly bothered by something as she went on. "I cant always be of help, though.." The weak ones never got to escape, who knew how many they had captured in all this time? "Anyway, I'm serious..You two should be careful..It's best to get back here right away. "

"I'm not offended, you need not worry." Her way of speaking was perhaps too direct for some, but Orion was a patient person who had dealt with all kinds. Not the sort to become easily irritated. He didn't interrupt as she began to explain some of her own background, absorbing the information as best he could. Quite the perplexing situation, though he supposed he'd have to get used to hearing information that seemed alien to him, if he was stuck on a foreign world. "I've known people who can take the form of animals as well--in my world it's not so uncommon among Druids and the like, but I've never seen one take a form like a phoenix. Usually it's bears or ravens." Taking the form of creatures often considered mythological wasn't quite as typical. "If the people from your homeland are as you describe, I'm certain I'd get along well with them." Not always the case for Serenitians, needless to say. Many people tended to find them disagreeable in this world. Similarly, Orion only tended to find like-minded individuals in Druids oftentimes, which were generally rather rare. He wasn't quite as extreme as some of the Serenitians, though...
Crossing his arms as he gazed at the spatial rip in the sky, he listened to everything the disembodied voice said intently. These words would likely dictate his next course of action. After her explanation, Orion continued to look at that tear for several more moments, before closing his eyes. "I will remain, in that case." He said, opening his eyes as he turned to Phoenix. "I appreciate your help and your offer, but I must stay. Even if the chance is slim, it would be regrettable if I were not here and some harm befell the one I was with." Not that there was no trust there--this person could certainly look after themselves. Still... better safe than sorry. "I wish you luck on your travels, and I hope you can find someone who's a more interesting conversationalist than I." It wasn't hard to tell Phoenix wasn't very engaged in this conversation... or perhaps someone beyond felt that way. Not that he could blame them. Orion wasn't known for his thrilling conversational skills. "I hope to meet the fellows from your world another time, if possible. They seem like agreeable folk." But for now, he figured he'd be setting up around here.

Phoenix nodded, she could at least find relief that he was pretty calm, and not so easily offended. It could be difficult to deal with people of the sort. "Druids? That's a new name for my ears. Heh, pretty cool though, huh? I guess that makes me extra special, a rarity even! " She grinned, throwing a playful wink his way. Phoenix wasn't always so dead that she couldn't joke around herself!
"Hmm? " It was a very short-lived playful moment, as her expression returned to, well, as normal as Phoenix was. "You realize I can't just leave, right? " She crossed her arms, looking a tad-bit annoyed! "It's a bad idea to stay here. You could be waiting here weeks, months, years! There is no way to tell if you're companion will show up here, not everyone were close to is brought to this world. In fact, one of our other friends, er, another traveler from another world has been here for nearly three years, and her boyfriend still has not shown up. She's been searching for him for most of the years by herself like a complete idiot.." She was very clear of her thoughts! It wasn't smart, but she continued that journey alone for so long.."It's a dangerous world to wander alone in.." She let out a small, irritated sigh. "Point is, this person may never show here, you cant survive here that long. It's best to just come with me and my friend Hiyori will keep her watch here. If anyone shows, you would be the first to know.."

The portal had brought yet another visitor to the world of Gaia, unexpected and sudden as it was, she was able to regain her senses amazingly quick, where as most would become disorientated by the entire experience. It was a good thing, too. As she would soon come to realize she wasn't alone, and that she was surrounded by many, many guns all trained on her. To many to take chances on, no matter how skilled she was. The only thing to do right now was keep calm, rather then act recklessly against those she had no knowledge of. "Who are you? Where am I? "

One of the men raised his hand, gesturing for all the infantrymen and Soldier's to lower their weapons, as he took a cautious, slow step forward. "Apologies for the hostility. You are not the first visitor to come to our world, the world of Gaia. You will forgive our.. caution, will you not? " He paused. "I am one of ShinRa's many SOLDER's, stationed here to keep watch of this area. It has been known to bring many others from other worlds into ours, like yourself...some are not always so friendly. " He continued.. "We also have taken in many of you to our base, it is a place of shelter...Would you like to go there? I can't promise the plains here are safe, it is a long journey before you will ever find a city or town. "
"There are others here? " It didn't take but a second for her mind to think of the possibilities that this was where Kiana and Bronya disappeared to. ( "..Something about them feels..off...Though if what he says is true, she may be there too. " ) She thought to herself.. ("It could very well be a trap, and if it is...Do they have her? ..." )She looked into the mans eyes, her own eyes slightly narrowing as she continued to think of all the possibilities.. ("...I don't care if it is a trap, I will follow along with them, until I find her...Kiana..Please be safe.." ) She stepped forward, finally giving the man a nod. "Very well, I will go along with you. "
