Enjoying his afternoon sleeping off the sickness of inevitable corruption by an alien element, he didn't feel the vibrations of the earth at all. Rather it was the sudden haywire electrical spasms that woke him up. "Ahh...Song of a b***h" he groaned clutching at his stomach.
Then he felt the vibrations and through a cold sweat, he quickly jumped to his feet, throwing on a pair of black slacks on his stumble out the door. Little did he know Nariko was already out there, and he passed the doorway and saw the one thing he didn't want to see. Damn near falling from the crippling presence of whatever was going on inside of him, he clung to the railing, staring at the thing in horror, not at all seeing that it had a passenger

It nodded and was prepared to stoop down to let the windswept vixen off, but soon it's eyes all caught sight of a familiar target. It's head lowered and a low growl escaped from it's throat as Nara's front legs widened and tail lashed like a whip behind it.
At the words of the other dark haired vixen, it let out a timely ear splitting screech. Nara was not going to have any of their horseplay this time

Flicking her ear behind her at the sound of something stumbling, her head turned slightly to see Dutch holding onto the railing quite awkwardly. "Dutch!" She hesitated going back to him, wondering what was wrong since he had been relatively fine earlier. However, Dutch was certainly capable of handling his own, where as her mother was not.
Turning back around, she was about to speak when the ear splitting screech rang through her ears as if she was standing right in front of a massive speaker.Nearly doubling over, Nariko fought with all her might to keep up....her dire determination to protect her mother strong. "You let her go this instant! If its me you want, then i'll damn well give you what you wa-"
"Nariko! Stop!" Koyuki yelled, her own ears had yet to pop from the tremendous speeds and had been spared the effects of the screech; once low enough to the ground sliding off of Nara's neck with ease. "Not one more word you hear me!" Koyuki felt the intense pain in her abdomen like before, nearly doubling over when her paws were once more on solid ground. Walking between the titan behind her and her brass daughter, she held out her arm as if to be some kind of shield....knowing if either were to strike she'd stand no chance.
"I don't know what's gone down between you two....but Nara...Thank you..." She pausing looking back with a weak smile to the creature, "She helped me....I owe her more than you'd ever understand, Nariko." Turning back to her daughter, her look was stern, as she was simply met by the dumbfounded look of her daughter. "You will not lay a paw on her now."

As if the sheer pain from the prescence of the monster wasn't bad enough, the horrendous screech put him on the ground, clutching at his ears and curled up into a ball as well. As the screech faded, he pulled himself to his feet.
Momentarily deaf from the sound, all he saw was the beast prepared to attack Nariko, but Koyuki standing in the middle. He couldn't hear the conversation of the group, but all he did see a very confusing and misleading scene of what seemed to be Koyuki defending the monster. "What the hell am I missing here??" he said out loud, though to him, the words sounded more like a faint mumble
Even as the now motherly vixen slide off it's neck, Nara did not change it's pose. Those two pushed a rock on it's head after trading on precious ground to the beast. It was far from ready to calm down. Though, the fact Koyuki stood between Nara and the presumed daughter was perplexing, further more what it was being addressed as female. With the use of mind projection, Nara quickly corrected the fox, though refused to take all seven eyes away from both the daughter and the strange male she had accompanied.
Still...there was likely nothing that would happen between the two. Nara couldn't explain why though

Gender...less? Koyuki slowly looked back to Nara and nodded her head, offering a weak smile as she felt herself get cool and clammy; that dizziness coming back full force. "S....Sorry Nara..." Koyuki breathed in a labored breath, feeling her knees finally give out as the intense pounding in her head had been enough to make her pass right out.
Flicking her ears back to catch Dutch's confused statement, Nariko could only second that notion. Yet none of it made any sense....why would her mother be riding on that monster, how did she even meet the monster when it was clear they were not heading to the eastern shore at all! However two of the most important puzzle pieces she wondered was why wasn't her mother eaten, and where the hell was her father. However she had no time to act as her mother suddenly looked physically ill and sure enough her knees gave out and she fell.
"Mom!" Nariko gasped, lurching forward to quickly catch her in her arms....but this also put her so much closer to the beast who'd tried to kill them....and did this to Dutch. Looking down to Koyuki's pale and exhausted face, Nariko gritted her teeth....as much as she wanted to lay into this monster....Nara....whatever it was....Koyuki had been adamant to keep the peace; and Nariko trusted her.
Looking up to the monstrous creature, Nariko stood and cradled her mother's body in her arms. "Listen....I trust her, but under no other circumstances do I trust you." Nariko spoke calmly, trying to keep the anger from her voice as she gave Dutch a long, meaningful glance. "P.....Please tell me though....what have you done to him? How can we fix this..?" It was worth a shot, anyways.....if this beat was being civil to her mother, maybe it would be civil enough to give a little information.

Seeing Koyuki suddenly just collapse brought him some strength to regain his balance and power over to them. Being a soldier and a medic, it was his self proclaimed job to protect who he could, and even though he felt right now his gut was tearing itself in half, he still moved over to take Koyuki from Nariko. "I..will put her inside" he struggled to say as he panted just a bit, but again called on his strength to heave the much smaller vixen from the ground and take her inside. He didn't even so much as glance back when he heard Nariko practically begging the creature of what it had done...He knew...kind of..but he wasn't sure how to tell Nariko.
Letting it's ears fall in sympathy as the one she had just brought practically fainted, she watched the male walk over, however inside it could see the turmoil that it's venomous bite had brought. As the weakened two left, the male carrying the vixen, it let out a devious and blood chilling chuckle. "Well...it would appear my bite had more effect than I thought." it said letting out another chuckle, sitting back on it's haunches. "He seems to be corrupted by phazon....the very element that allows me to live. I'm surprised he has lasted this long."
