Its hot. Burning hot. And of all places to train they were in a sand garden. The rocks were smooth and scolding like a hot teflon pan and the top layers of sand could be kicked away to reveal the cool underbelly of sand. hidden beneath the hot rocks, but hark! clouds are coming over the horizon, could it be rain?

((This took longer than expected, so I only have three days until I go to part two of combat training, but I'll be home after that.))

Kusari entered the hot arena of education, it was like a small desert in appearance. Kusaris hair was braided in the back once again, and his white shirt was missing. Upon arriving, Kusari took shelter beneath a nearby tree and removed his vest and shoes. He held tight to his sake as he thought about the heat. Oh well, he was the one that chose the location.

The heat nearly seared their skin as the Shinigami took to a sandy patch under the scorching sun. It was not long before another Shinigami accompanied Kusari in this rather arid arena, to participate in a spot of training. Kaisho initially found himself in disappointment, as there were no trees for him to hide from the heat, and his sole were uncomfortably warm due to the sand under his feet. Even his sandals did not help much, although he had to admit that they did take the edge off. However Kaisho noticed that the clouds from a distance began to roll in, and a smile curled his lips.

Kaisho stared at the hazy horizon as he searched for Kusari, and though he saw him, he could not be sure until he felt the reiatsu signature emitting from the barely visible figure. Kaisho took a grand leap, arcing high into the air whilst covering the one hudred or so meters left to the new Third Seat. He could still remember what had been said way back before Kaisho became Lieutenant of Seventh Squad, but as his subordinate, there was a sense of duty in training Kusari today.

His leap meant that when he reached the floor, the sheer force kicked up the hot sand, brushing up a layer of the much cooler sand to the surface in a radius of a few tens of yards. The coolness made Kaisho look down at the sand a moment later. "Hmm, much better." Kaisho muttered in response as the soothing sensation on his soles and between his toes, which were slightly submerged in the sand. He glanced at Kusari, not wanting to make too much conversation with him. "I only know a few more Kido than you do, but whenever you are ready I'll begin." Kaisho said, setting down a large, single-shouldered backpack on the ground beside him.

Kusari witnessed the massive leap. "Must you be such a show off? I'm only going through you because fifth squad won't let me go until I learn what I can from you." Kusari hoisted himself up off the ground. He hadn't realized how demeaning this would be until he saw Kaisho's face. "Just teach me hado eleven and get out of my way Aneki." Yes, of all honorifics Kusari would still call Kaisho his brother, because all of his hatred was focused on the simple fact that Kusari needed to surpass Kaisho, but fate wouldn't allow it. It was a love hate feeling of bitterness, but there was still very much respect there in Kusari's heart, but his voice would never tell it.

"It should be elementary. I'm fairly certain that you can't offer me anything else of use." Kusari tightened his belt and squared off in front of Kaisho.

Kaisho averted his gaze from Kusari the moment Kusari squared up to him. He sighed, lingering for a moment before shaking his head, which had cocked to one side. “If you say so, Korosu.” Kaisho shrugged, turning to his backpack and producing a thick strand of wire with a wooden block attacked to the end of it. Kaisho turned back, holding one end of the strand of wire in his left hand and the wooden block in the right. “Tsuzuri Raiden... A Kido in which you channel electricity through an object to do harm to a foe.” The Lieutenant explained, twirling the strand around before hurling it over to Kusari. “It’s a simple but effective Hado, and with our way of combat, there should be a high chance to use it.” He added, smiling at how it could be implimented in conjunction with hand to hand combat.

Kaisho demonstrated by taking another strand of wire and a block of wood from his bag, twirling it in air by his side whilst forming a decent amount of reiatsu into his right palm. There was not a particular reason for doing this, apart from saving him the trouble of placing the wooden block on the floor. "Hado #11..." Kaisho began, and with a sudden halt in his motion, finished announcing the Kido. "Tsuzuri Raiden." Kaisho said next, the reiatsu bursting into a rapid stream of electricity that burst across the strand of conductive wire. The wire, as Kaisho stopped it, was at full stretch in front of him at chest level, motionless as Tsuzuri Raiden trailed to the wooden block, striking it with enough energy to set it ablaze, slipping from the loop that was tied to it, and falling nicely into the sand as a smoldering chunk of charcoal.

{{ Two posts please, and try to make them a bit of an interesting read. A slap-up job won't quite cut it for me. }}

"Tch" Kusari shook his head and looked at the ground, "You really do make everything a bit to flashy Kaish-" Kusari's voice trailed off. When Kaisho threw him the spool and block Kusari caught it. "This really is juvenile." Kusari sighed and then spoke in a monotone voice to express his utter and complete boredom at learning such a simplistic thing from his rival. "Hado number eleven -sigh- Tsuauri Raiden." The electricity flowed slowly down the wire and into the block until a chunk of the block came flying out. Kusari sighed once more, "I know, I know, put a little more soul into it." Kusari pulled the cord tighter and said, "Hado number eleven ..." but he stopped and said, "Do you know why I still hate you Kaisho? We started out as equals and yet your always a step ahead of me. Captain Katsuro helped you get shikai. I had to get it on my own. I get fourth seat, you get third, I get promoted, you get promoted. I try to fight you, you go half a** on me. Its utterly ridiculous, and its depressing."

-----------------------------------------

Kusari pulled the cord even tighter, his skin began to turn red around it. "I feel ******** invisible when your around Kaisho, thats why I wanted to kill you, and part of me still does want to. If you weren't around I might get noticed by somebody." Blood began to run down his hands as he pulled even tighter. "I hate you more than anything in this world, but at the same time I feel like I shouldn't hate you." Kussari sighed once more and said, "HADO NUMBER ELEVEN! TSUZURI RAIDEN!" The rest of the block exploded into a rain of ash. Kusari reached back and pulled his hair ties, the braids unfurled as he ran his hand through the long white hair. "I can't stop loving you as a friend Kaisho, but I hate you more than you could ever imagine." He dropped the wire and looked up, brushing the hair from his face and accidentally rubbed some blood on his cheek. He stared at Kaisho, eyes reddened and puffy, but no longer leaking fluid as his face showed pure undiluted rage. "Are we done none."

Kaisho watched as Kusari trained, and in listening to the words he spoke, he felt his eyes grow wide as the words reached him. It was quite a surprising moment for Kaisho, as he had never heard Kusari talk like this to anyone before, let alone about him. It would have been fair for Kaisho to admit that Kusari would quite possibly have been the last person Kaisho would hear such words from, given their previous meetings. It reminded Kaisho of how things were back when he had first enrolled into Seventh Squad, and how he felt overshadowed by the other Shinigami before him. However, Kaisho managed to break out of the shadow, and formed a light of his own to stand in. Though the Lieutenant had Captain Katsurou as a superior, argueably one of the strongest Captains of Sereitei, Kaisho never seemed to bear hatred, nor did he see him as a rival. He merely saw Bullene as what he ought to be; a role model, a mentor and a man who deserved respect.

“I guess I can’t blame you for your reasons to hate me.” Kaisho finally said, after much time in silence just staring at Kusari. “We’re done training here, so you are free to go to Fifth Squad and continue your training.” Kaisho added, picking up his rucksack whilst turning away to leave the hot training field. He looked back at Kusari, his eyes had softened and his mouth had parted slightly upon seeing the Third Seat, almost as if he was going to say something important. Instead, Kaisho sighed to himself and smiled faintly. “I wonder what’ll happen from now on. In any case, Good job today. Goodbye, Kusari.” With his last words, Kaisho placed a palm to the ground, using Sekienton to create a small red cloud which masked his quick dash into the hazy horizon around them.
