I finally got my computer running! Its been almost a year now since I started buying parts, and at least 6 months since I started trying to assemble it and succeeded only in filing one warranty claim after another.
Long story short, I had to ask the assistance of an acquaintance in picking my parts, and the tool picked a socket am2 processor and a socket am3 motherboard. THIS CAUSED ME PROBLEMS AND TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO NOTICE. Buuut, then I finally did notice and voila, everything is at long last working properly.

Lea Fealith Garts! Just in time for new, better hardware to come out. sweatdrop If I had more money I would have bought the six core AMD... I was /only/ $300> Buuut I didnt have enough left on my card and payday was today so hurff I just got a solid quad. Not top of the line, but feeeehhhh. It'll run any game I have at max graphics (Read: portal and the sims 3). Fly: Oh but its so worth it in the end and nothing will change my mind there <3

If I had the money I'd definitely build myself something like that. Macs are ok, but nothing beats the fun of putting a computer together by yourself.

Yeah. Sockets are a pain. xP Glad it's finally working, though. It doesn't matter if new hardware comes out. What matters is when games are written that require the new hardware. It'll be a while before a quad core is out of date.

I have omigosh so much custom content already. And creating personalities with the traits is really fun <3 I can finally, literally create an evil genius. And recoloring things! I wonder how I ever lived without that.
Hm, I could keep gushing for a while.

I wonder how I ever lived without that. Hm, I could keep gushing for a while. I am getting so frustrated with the downloadable stuff! sad They won't seem to install. And it told me I could get a free town but the link never worked. Not happy Jan. sad Aside from that, I'm having fun too. xd

Thats the only way I got everything working xD I tried downloading things from The Exchange on the Sims 3 website (http://au.thesims3.com/exchange). I haven't bothered scouting around for alternatives yet, but those guides look really useful! Thanks!
