Well, Kansas turned out to look a lot different from the other states I've driven through. It's my first time seeing prairie up close and personal.
Also, tornadoes are terrifying. I ran into an almost tornado just as I was leaving Kansas city. Huge black cloud in the shape of an upside down dog bowl with these nasty ridges... as I drive close I realize it's spinning slowly, closer and it starts spiting out lightning all over the place and the spinning is getting lower and lower and lower... and suddenly I'm driving blind in a wall of water and the wind is trying to throw my car against the divider. I've decided I don't like tornado weather.

I love tornado weather. ...Driving in it is the only part I don't like.

Lea Fealith Well, Kansas turned out to look a lot different from the other states I've driven through. Sounds like a nightmare to me. gonk I swear I've had ones before where tornadoes are chasing after me.

when I was last out there i was astounded by all the refineries.
between every train station you would see at least one, sometimes more, and some were huge, with cooling towers that reminded me of a nuclear reactor!
but they are for ethanol production and other fuels that can be refined from corn or soybeans.
