I used to have rage episodes years a go when I was still getting used to new hormones, mostly to my mum 'cuz she was convenient. I remember one time we were just shouting at each other. But due to the fights, we got closer, so that's one thing, I guess.

Lately though, with my anger it turns into sadness. So I get angry, and then after a while, I'll just start getting sad and start to cry... heh.

one of the reasons i searched this guild was because of my rage episodes.
i really dont think they're normal.
the most recent one was terribly cruel. i dont want to repeat it.

..
uhm.
How often do you guys have rages? sweatdrop
Like..does it scare you of how different of a person you change into? the seething, burning hatred that can suddenly leave you just as quickly?

once i tore apart a stuffed animal i had made for someone i was with because i was frustrated at them.

i get really vengeful really quickly. for the most part i am a very laid back sort of person..i get a little catty but it isn't anything you'd see on jersey shore or anything people take much note of. but on some occasions i would get very nasty, very quickly, and then just as quickly as the storm comes, it passes. I get this wave of guilt. I can name the people on a single hand who have seen it. It usually only happens while I'm alone.

I haven't been diagnosed but due to what happened tonight I know it certainly isn't normal.

I rarely if ever get angry or rage. I am slightly afraid of what will happen when I do get to that point. I am extremely calm and laid back most of the time. I do have Aspergers which may have something to do with it. What did you do that was cruel and seemed not normal if I may ask.

So... my son Damon has had a lot of these "rage" episodes the past several months, and then when he started taking Concerta for his ADHD symptoms, they spiraled out of control. In one week, he had two very severe and dangerous hour long tantrums. We took him off of the Concerta immediately, and started Abilify in March. It has been a godsend. His episodes have reduced in frequency and length, and he's able to tolerate a lot more day to day stuff. I asked him what he thought of taking this medication, and he says that he likes that it makes him calm. I think his self esteem and general happiness have improved greatly. He's actually excited for the coming school year, and talking about making friends. It's just such a relief.

His psychiatrist is thinking he may have a mood disorder on top of his autism at this point, but he's only eight so it's a little early to be 100% sure. So, does anyone here that have these episodes been diagnosed with a mood disorder with autsim? Please share if you don't mind. whee

Since I was a kid, I threw temper tamtrums all the time. It made me feel guilty.
