Eccentric Detective surprised Renkon quoted me... *faints* To an extent, I can see them not wanting to "live in sin" and all that, but... you can't convert everybody, and you can't force them to live by your religious laws until they agree to follow them. That's the spirit of the Law (I capitalize it here because I'm referring to the Biblical laws). You should want to obey God's will, or you're missing part of your Christianity: devotion. Exactly. If you aren't wanting to do it, it doesn't bring you personally closer to God, or following the law is making you... heartless (maybe), why do it? I mean Jesus' problem with the Pharisees and Sadducees was the legalism they were reducing the religion, or so the mythos goes. I personally find it quite funny, sad, and ironic that Christianity is taking the road that the mythos teaches against.

Sad, not really. The same thing would have happened to any religion if it spread as wide as Christianity did. ... could kick your a** !!

True, I guess I find it sad since this legalism is one of the reasons I hear why Christianity is regarded as a religion for the spiritually laziness and shallowness.

While it's a belief in Christianity to be evangelical, different sects have different takes about how this is handled. More mystic leaning sects tend to leave it to God who leads people to them and they work from there, and then there are more shallow sects who go basically end up doing whatever means possible to bring people to their religion. It should be noted that the more mystic leaning sects such as the Oriential and Eastern Orthodoxy tend to view Hell as being with God when one doesn't want to be there, since all things return to God according to them.
