I believe the words you are searching for are "Good grief!" smile
Out of interest, did anyone splurge?

Warnersister I believe the words you are searching for are "Good grief!" smile Ah, but considering I was quite expecting to be Penfold, I feel that 'Crumbs!' was a perfectly justified comment in that context. wink No splurging here, had rather a lot on my mind this week trying (and succeeding!) to coax my car through the MOT. pirate

Mysterious Cities of Gold is now available to pre-order from HMV, according to the UK distributors. I've no idea whether this is a HMV exclusive (like Thundercats was) or whether other places will now list it.
Alas HMV is no longer offering a replica of the medallion...

Well, I finally managed to acquire a genuine copy of The Stone Tape, which is both rare and excellent.

I don't appear to have raved about this one yet (not in this forum anyhow!): The Dresden Files. Unless I mentioned it in a book thread...
Well, it's a really good TV series, so naturally Sci Fi cancelled it after the first season. Based (albeit loosely) on the series of books by Jim Butcher, it's about a wizard named Harry (no, not that one) who earns a rather slim living as a supernatural PI in Chicago. Somebody's lost a wedding ring? He can do a finding spell. "No love potions, endless purses, or other entertainment." The Chicago PD is faced with an unexplained double murder whereby the victims' hearts literally exploded out of their chests? Harry Dresden can help.
All he has to do is avoid the attentions of the Chicago mob, the faerie Summer & Winter Courts (including his godmother), various practitioners of black magic and indeed his own White Council of wizards, who don't trust him and who would cheerfully execute him if he provided the slightest provocation...
In the TV series, life is marginally less complicated for him. Just the Council on his back, the Chicago PD treating him with suspicion and various magical do-badders who need stopping - vampires, incubi, succubi etc.
Paul Blackthorne does a damn good Harry Dresden and full marks go to Terrence Mann for his portrayal of the cursed ghost (and handy spectral assistant) Bob.

Warners are continuing their best efforts to separate me from my money. Not only do we have Tiny Toons & Freakazoid! coming to DVD soon (although I'd say "Give me the rest of Animaniacs too!"), they've now announced that everyone's favourite exercise in spotting the cameo of obscure cartoon character Cool Cat is coming to DVD.
For the uninitiated, I speak of the Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries. "If theeeeeeere's a full moon, an old house with rotten stairs, just wook behind you, chances are we'll be there..."
Full scoop (as always) at TV Shows on DVD.com:

I wonder whether season 1 includes the homage to "What's Opera, Doc?" Or the homage to "One Froggy Evening"? Or the homage to that Porky & Sylvester cartoon with the killer mice, whose name entirely escapes me?
