Blake's crooked smile broadened when Ruthie approved of his car. Yeah. Hell yeah. His car was the s**t. He opened his mouth to respond, but found himself being dragged along by his companion instead. Well, that worked just as well. He let his arm slide in her grip as she pulled, until she was pulling on his wrist. Just a little bit closer and they would've been holding hands...

Nope. No such luck. She just had to remember her phone. Fantastic. Couldn't she understand that he was trying something here? But no. She was a girl, and her mind was in thirty different places at once. Of course. Hadn't he learned that about girls already? They were never really paying attention to what was in front of them. Their focus was so...unfocused. Spastic. Flitting all over the place, thinking about a million different things all the time. Blake wasn't sure how anyone could stand it. But hey, maybe that was just him.

He just sort of, let her talk for the most part. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, but didn't go to retrieve it until Ruthie turned away to go to her car. It was from Rog. About lunch. Well, for once, he had something better than poking fun at his friends to do. And he couldn't wait to brag about it.

To: Rog
From: Blake

Enjoy, man. I've got a date with the hottest chick in school. And I'm definetely going to the party now.

Blake sent the message quickly, and then thought about it. He should probably tell some other people too. 'Specially Kevin. Poor guy would probably get pissed off at them for a good two hours, but whatever. At this point, he wasn't really concerned about these other people. He just wanted to cover his a** for a little while. In fact...

To: Tasha, Kevin
From: Blake

Ditching with Ruthie. Cover my a**? I'll owe you big time.

Blake sent the last two messages and tucked the phone back into his pocket. Hopefully his friends would pull through and do him a solid. He'd ditched plenty before, and really didn't need his absences stacking up against him like this. His mother would s**t a chicken. He looked up and watched as Ruthie made her way back, her bag slung over her shoulder. His smile had diminished when she had walked away, but at her question, it curled right back up with a mischevious glint in his eye to match.
"Guess we'll have to find out, won't we? he replied, his tone teasing. He leaned over slightly and opened the passenger door for Ruthie, beckoning for her to seat herself. Coy as he might be, he was a gentleman.

With his new partner in crime safely stowed in the passenger seat, Blake slid over the hood of his car to the driver's side, sliding in himself and tossing his backpack into the backseat.
"Welcome aboard the Jolly Roger, your one way ticket to real freedom." Blake said, his voice very Price Is Right-esque as he gestured to the interior of his car. He pulled his keys from his pocket and jammed them into the ignition with his usual gusto. He smirked with satisfaction as the car roared to life, enjoying the rumbling feeling of the engine in the soles of his feet.

"So. Where to?"

"Mr. Smee, we must save the lad from himself."

He smiled crookedly at Dri and said, "Never would I insult your intelligence, Dri. I don't have a death wish." He leaned back in his chair and ran his hand through his hair as he yawned largely. He was lost in a day dream induced by the monotonous voice of the french teacher; something in this teachers voice made him want to slip into a peaceful coma. His thoughts were snapped back to the present at Dri's question. As he opened his mouth to answer her, but was cut off by the bell sounding the happy end of the longest hour of Ethan's day. He stood from his desk and picked up his books before answered Dri.

"I'll check with some more people, and I'll let you know at lunch. Save me a seat? I gotta meet with coach before lunch so I might be a little late." Ethan felt the phone in his pocket vibrate for the second time, meaning two messages now awaited his retrieval. He slipped into the traffic coursing through the hall, and pulled his phone out of his pocket as he strolled to his next class. Two messages, one a reply from Cam and the other a message from Ruthie. He scrolled to Ruthie's message first and read it quickly, an astonished look passing over his face as he read the contents.

To: Ruthie
From: Ethan
I'm being punk'd right? I knew I'd be a bad influence on you. The house is open, make yourself at home. Don't do anything I wouldn't do wink lmfao

He sent the message, still smiling until he read the reply from Cam. She didn't know if she would come to the party or not. He didn't know what to say back to her. Saying he wanted her there seemed too weird now, and he didn't want to know why she didn't want to come. Some information is best left buried, he had learned that the hard way.

He made his way through the remainder of his classes with a distracted mind. His meeting with the coach lasted only a few short minutes, and then he was headed for lunch at last. The day had gone by in a lazy sludge of mundane activity and he was ready for some socialization at lunch.

Ruthie smirked at his reply and watched with slight shock as he walked to the passenger door and opened it for her. Chivalry was a lost art among the other guys at school, and the gesture wasn't lost on Ruthie. Seeing Blake perform such a simple sweet act made her feel special and a tad giddy. She suddenly felt as if she were floating slightly as she walked toward him. The cars in the parking lot were arranged to not allow much room between them, causing Blake and her to practically hug as she moved to step into his car. She felt a blush light her cheeks again as she passed so close to him, she could feel the heat radiating from his body, but it didn't embarrass her this time. Her mind was completely involved with how close they had to stand. She was hypnotized momentarily by his eyes that seemed to glint with a light of mischief, but forced herself back to the present.

She giggled and smiled softly at him as she slid into the passenger seat of the gorgeous old car. She had always loved the look of older model cars compared to the slicker modernized versions that was on car lots today. As she was removing the strap of her bag from around her neck she felt the car bounce slightly. She looked up in time to see Blake sliding across the hood of his car "Duke's of Hazard" style and she erupted in peals of laughter. She was still chuckling when he opened the door to slide into the car.
"Very impressive," she said as she reached with her left hand to pull the seat beat across her body.

The smile didn't leave her face as he introduced his car. This was definitely a side of Blake she had never seen before. And she was starting to think she really wanted to see more of it. Every second he was surprising her in a different way. She had always noticed him before, but this was different. He was so funny, and so kind to her. The car sprung to life beneath her feet as he turned the key in the ignition. She could tell by the look on his face that he obviously loved this car very much. She felt her phone vibrate in her bag, and she pulled open the reply from Ethan. She smiled at Ethan's insinuation before turning back to Blake as he inquired about their destination.

"Ethan and I live around the East Hill subdivision. There's a store around there where we can stop and get the cups and ice. Then, we can go to my house for the liquor, drop it all off at Ethan's, and then we can do whatever. Sound good to you?" She was excited about the prospect of the day. She knew that it was going to be a great day and it would be exactly what she needed. Besides, now that she was more comfortable with him, the prospect of spending the whole day with Blake was thrilling in itself. "And if you don't know how to get to East Hill, I can give you directions," she said, relaxing back in the seat, one arm propped on door, the other on the center console.

The rest of the morning was fairly uneventful, although Sabrina was secretly amused by the clear embarrassment that Chaz had after the shower thing. Of course, considering it was insensitive to bring it up, she kept the giggles down to a minimum at best. The poor boy seemed to be put down by the minor mistake. Oh well, she was rather fond about that flustered side of his too. It was almost cute to see the strange internal war that seemed to be raging through his mind all the time. Yet she also knew that his intentions were pure enough, and that he was far from actually being a slimy creep. So for the rest of the first period, she went back to reading contently, and happily indulged in the ever-changing world of words and images that consisted of her mind. It was truly her sanctuary in a place that was always filled with harsh emotions and overly rambunctious individuals who wanted nothing more than to make a joke out of the joys of literature. Not that she would ever say that out loud. When she thought about it further, she never really talked out loud anyways. Chaz and a few others were exceptions though.

The bell eventually rang and the teen packed up her things, not that she had brought that much with her aside from her school supplies and whatnot. She sighed happily, feeling completely recharged after a good amount of time with solid reading. Noticing that Chaz was already up, she accepted his hand gratefully and stood. Sabrina let go fairly quickly afterwards and averted her eyes towards the door, painfully aware of the loud thumping noise from her chest. Hopefully he would not take it the wrong way, but it was the few moments like these where she honestly needed to put effort into not becoming a bumbling, stuttering mess.
"Thanks. I'll see you during third. Good luck on the test today." She smiled at him warmly before heading off to second period. Although she knew that he would be perfectly fine, she did her share of helping him at times. Hopefully he would manage to remember everything alright. He worked hard after all. As for herself, she was not very worried over the material, but wanted to keep serious about it. High marks paid off after all.

Second period flew by, and she spent most of the time working ahead, getting the questions done and over with so that she would have one less subject to worry about after school. Then came third period, and the test. There was no real time to talk to Chaz, although she did manage another grin directed to him before they started. After that, she was completely absorbed into the material, her tiny, but neat scrawl covering all of the pages about ten minutes before the start of lunch. Sabrina checked over it multiple times before handing it in, fairly confident that she had managed to do a good job with what she knew. It helped that she had memorized a good chunk of the notes beforehand. So with the remaining time, she sat there reading again, this time yet another book that was simply borrowed for the fun of reading. The liberation of having finished the test early was indeed a satisfying feeling.

As the bell rang for lunch, Sabrina waited for Chaz. By now, she reigned in on her somewhat scattered emotions, although still planned to keep a slight distance between them. Nonetheless, she wanted to make sure that he had done alright before heading off. She did not want to bother him more than necessary during one of the few times during the day when socialization was allowed. After all, this was usually the time of day when she tuned most others out anyways. Yeah, when it came down to it, she was kind of a bore with all the reading she did during lunch. No need to subject Chaz to a one-sided conversation.

Dri gave Ethan a proud smile after his first response. Smart kid. Unlike so many others. At least someone knew that she was always right. It was time everyone else got with the program. When he explained that he wasn't sure about the guest list though, her grin faltered ever so slightly. Well, that was no good. He had better have some satisfactory answers for her by lunch. "Of course." she said, promising her friend a seat. She was always one of the first in the lunch room anyways, what with her fierce desire to escape from her fourth period. It was true that Luke was in there, and he was nice eye candy, but Donnie was also there. And there was only one person Adrienne disliked more than Donnie. God was the girl frustrating. Just, everything about her.

The brunette rose from her seat and picked up her bag before striding off towards second. She noted that Blake was absent without much interest, and government went by without anything of substance to be learned. Fourth was difficult, with Donnie's mere presence just gnawing at her sanity, but Dri managed to make it down to the cafeteria without having to say a single word to the dreadful girl. It was practically empty when she arrived, and she made her way to her normal table near a window. Dri always brought her lunch, so there was no need to purchase anything from the cafeteria. She had standards, after all. And the school food was always questionable. Who knew what was actually in that slop. She seated herself in the seat nearest the wall, leaning against it and kicking her legs up to rest on the seat next to her while dropping her bag in the seat across. Everyone knew it was their table, but Dri was still rather possessive about it. Didn't want any riff-raff trying to squeeze their way in. That would never do.

Adrienne reached over to her bag and pulled out a small black box. Inside was her lunch: tea sandwiches. She had a thermos of Earl Grey inside her bag as well, with a small raspberry tart. She was a bit of an adept pastry chef, and tarts were by far her favorite confection to craft. Though, with a slight bitterness, she acknowledged the fact that she would only get one. Despite the fact that she was always the one making them, they were always gone by the time she returned home. And no matter how fervently she questioned the house staff and even her father, no one ever owned up to the theft. How typical.

Dri sighed and took a bite of one of the small sandwiches. Cucumber and cream cheese. Nice.

Blake's smirk didn't falter for even the slightest of moments as Ruthie told him where she lived. Well, these were certainly steps in the right direction. "Sure you want to let me know where you live? It'll make it that much easier for me to kidnap you and steal you away to distant lands." he teased, spinning his car out of the spot with ease and speeding out of the parking lot. He wasn't exactly what one would call a 'safe' driver, but you certainly couldn't deny that he was a good driver. Blake knew how to handle a car. Especially ol' Jolly. The car almost felt like an extension of himself. The two shared a BOND.

"And of course I know how to get to East Hill. I know this city better than the back of my hand." Blake responded, rolling his eyes as he pulled out onto the main road that ran alongside the school. Who knew what he was missing right now. Certainly not anything worth staying for.

Now where were we...? Ah, yes - abject humiliation!

Rogir had begun eating his lunch by the time his phone buzzed again. He opened it up and took a look at the message inside. It was from Blake. He smirked a little bit. Way to go for him. He typed out a message rapidly on his phone.

To: Blake
From: Rog

Nice going man, wish you the best of luck. I'll see you later, tell me how it went.

H
e then closed his phone and put it back in his pocket. He looked up and saw Roslin enter the cafeteria, looking for him. He spoke loud enough to be heard over the other people in the cafeteria, his voice briefly drowning out the chaos and commotion in the room.

"Ros! Over here!"

H
e then waved once before going back to eating. He ate very slowly and methodically. He didn't ever rush his lunch, and he normally finished right around when he had to go back to class. It worked out rather well, and it kept his stomach from feeling full and uncomfortable. He looked up at Roslin as she approached his table and smiled. When they had first gotten there she had called him several names and had despised him. However, over time, his charm had worked well to win her over, and now they were friends. Rogir wasn't sure if he wanted more than that at the very moment, but he didn't have to worry about that for a while yet. He spoke quietly as she sat down.

"How's your day been so far?"

H
e normally didn't talk much around either his friends or strangers, preferring to listen. After all, if you kept your mouth open all the time, you never learned anything.

You've heard of the golden rule, haven't you? Whoever has the gold makes the rules.

Ruthie chuckled at his reply before saying,
"You never know... a good kidnapping may be just what I'm in the market for. The more distant the land, the better!" She gripped the console subconsciously as they peeled out of the parking lot, but yet she felt a sense of security with Blake behind the wheel. He handled the car so expertly, and he seemed so in control all the time. She laughed again at his comment on his knowledge of the town. She was so giggly today! It wasn't like her, but the nervousness mixed with adrenaline and pure attraction made everything sound hilarious and brilliant.

They followed the main road from the school that lead into town. They stopped at a tiny mart in her subdivision and loaded up the trunk with packs of ice and tons of red plastic cups. Ruthie directed Blake through the turns until they were cruising into her driveway to the front of her house. Not many people from school actually ever came over to her house, because she hated how ostentatious it looked. But seeing that they were going to Ethan's house immediately afterward made her feel better about it as they cruised up to the front. Compared to other houses in the area, hers was actually fairly small, but still too large than she personally would like.

She noticed with relief that both of her parents vehicles were gone, and that meant the house was completely empty. They were even between maids. Ruthie planned on grabbing the bottles with Blake and getting out of there as soon as possible before her luck ran out.
"You're welcome to come in if you want to," She said as they pulled to a stop and she opened her door. She paused while she spoke to him, not exiting the car until he answered, and secretly wanting to let him in a little farther into her world. What would his reaction be?

Her head looked over when she heard her name called. She smiled and walked over, easily dodging around the crowd and sat down across from Rog. She sighed as she opened her Earl Gray and started sipping it slowly. She put her chin in her hand and slowly ate her lunch. Her face returned to being thoughtful. Her blue eyes seemed to be in a daze as she thought about it.

"Should I go to the party tonight?"

She asked, even she was affected by the buzz that seemed to have been engulfed by the school.

"I can't decide, I can see so many reasons not to go, but it does sound better than sitting in an empty house."

As she thought about it she frowned.

"I can't drive the jeep though...."

She said her face turning a deep shade of red at the thought of driving her father's mud encrusted jeep. She'd be a laughing stock of the entire school. Rog and their friends were the only people in the school to have ever seen it, to her dismay, when it broke down in the middle of the day and needed a ride back home.

Remember had fun spending a few periods with Carlos, but he did seem a little flirtacious. It was odd for the while that they played cards but she soon got over it. As the blocks passed and her day became increasingly consistant, she found that the only enjoyment she'd had that day was in her literature class. Some first day of school. Each time she would think back she'd scoff. During the summer she knew some teens to be so excited, going out and buying all new waredrobes. But for what? An empty day full of nothing but teachers droning on about what they were to do for the next one hundred and eighty days.

When lunch came Wisteria was mildly joyful of that. She could walk through the crowds and disappear among the sea of faces an ddo what she wanted to all along... but first she had to stand in a perilous line of chitter chatter just to get something to eat. The attendants of the school were on high priority since it was the first day of the school year, standing in their stations and looking for anything that went against school regulation. Wisty always though the way the attendents stood on the first week of school looked more like how her father would stand when he was mad... which was normally directed to either her older brother or her youngest. Her father was actually the police chief for the next county over. Her mother was an AM radio talk-show hostess for the republican party. Did that cause a lot of issues for her in school? Well sure, considering most teachers are democratic and that most teens will go with what ever they're most ignorant to follow. The current flow her peers were following is the democrats, and it drove her nuts! Ten years ago, when she was six, the favoured party was Republicans, and now it was to the Democrats. Honestly, just because her mom was republican didn't mean anything. Ember knew just because you belong to a party didn't mean anything. You didn't have to be a Die-Hard Republican or a Head Strong Democrat. If she thought a Democrat had better ideas and better support for how they were going to make their ideas real, and if they had a better argument then the Republican runner, then sure, once she'd become of age she'd vote for them fine.

"Miss, Miss what do you want for lunch?"

Remmy looked up and realized she had just lectured herself subconsciously through the entire lunch line. How did she start again? Oh yeah, how the attendants stood like her father. It was amazing how fast her mind could jump from different topics so quickly, and sometimes worried her, but oh well. "I'm sorry," she supplied with a genuine smile. That was a thing with her, she loved being nice to the lunch ladies since everyone else was so rude to them. She'd thank them and ask them how they were doing if she had the time and would bid them a good day or weekend. "I'll just have a pizza" And unfortunately the pizza came with fries today. Yuck. The fries were sometimes good, mainly in the beginning of the year. Then they start getting mushy and shriveled. Most of the time the fries toward the middle and end of the year remind her more of what Johnny Knoxville dresses up as: the old man with a sagged over face with ripples of worn years. Taking her tray and blending in with the crowd, she walked over the legs of some stoners as she went up stairs to get to the auditorium. As she made her way down the main aisle of the stadium seats she climbed up to the catwalk and eventually got to her destination- the door leading to the roof of the school. It was still summer but a nice breeze blew as she made her way to a building rooftop, sitting on the concrete ground, picking at her lunch and looking over another rooftop to see her fellow students. Actually, all she saw were bobbing spheres of black, blonde, brunette, red, and blue hair. Oh, wait. There's a green one.
