This PRP is designed with the intention of Kubochi learning to use to his Shikai and properly at that.

The setting is the Jubantai Training Grounds, the wide open field that it is with the hills and such.

Aikuro stepped gently out of his quarters, taking an early stride to the training grounds. He'd been slacking off enough, it seems. His captain had finally burst into his room and practically bit off an ear, though he deserved it to a large degree. She was nice enough, but the message, even if she hadn't said so was one Aikuro felt on his own; he needed to get off his a** and get busy. He was tired of course, but he'd done little or nothing for his division as of yet. And he was a lieutenant, which made this unacceptable at his own standards, let alone what the Captain had to say. So now he walked, his flowing kosode was held tight at his waist by his hakama, his chest bare for the time being. He had been sleeping not long before, and had gotten up only because he'd promised his Captain he would move soon, and even so, he was still very late. One wouldn't be able to tell though, with his carefree pace as he seemed to glide evenly across the floor of his division's living quarters. He saw no one, and hurried along as such. It was better this way, he didn't feel acquainted to anyone yet, and they would probably not even speak to him yet, or consider him a comrade since he'd done nothing for them. He would have to change that soon as the team lieutenant.

Aikuro's pace remained brisk but relaxed as he strode along, holding his zanpakuto close in his left hand, his grip loose but held firmly over it's glossy sheath. His chest rose and fell in a gentle sigh as he ran his free right hand through his soft and unkempt hair, pushing it back so that it lay out of his face and drooped at the sides and back of his neck. His chocolate eyes showed fine with his hair out of the way. He was already relaxed, hoping for the best for today, he would hopefully have his greatest weapon before long. He could only wait so long before he ran out of patience with himself, no telling how far the patience of his seniors would last. What proper lieutenant didn't know or couldn't use his shikai?

He stepped slowly out of the building and looked out and over the hills and trees. Raising an eyebrow at the sight, he couldn't help but feel a bit more downcast, 'Great, more sunshine for my still sleeping eyes... Just perfect...' He loved sitting near his window during the middle of the day, but after he'd just awakened, this was a usual no-no. He'd have to deal with it today, and keep his head down and those eyes out of the sun. He trot onto the grass, his straw waraji feeling far more comfortable on the plain grass now and despite the glaring ball of fire above him, he began to feel much more comfortable as he walked into the field, taking one last swipe at his hair as he stood beneath a nearby tree to await his captain's arrival. He stayed alert, in case the training session would come to an immediate start on her arrival, but leaned against the tree silently, it's split bark providing a decent cover from the sun. He bit the inside of his lip with a nonchalant mindset and stood there with a foot propped against the tree's bottom as he wait.

My Fears...

User ImageUser ImageEriko's gaze traveled along the curvy landscape of her new training grounds from her current position in one of the thicker trees. Kubochi came into sight but she did not move as yet, preferring to examine him from here as well as to determine her approach to this. It was not going to be similar to her training session with Sakamoto in the slightest. Unlike that instance, she was a Captain and the trainee was her Lieutenant. Should she be strict and aloof? Or was a caring atmosphere better? No, this was training and for his Shikai of all things. Going soft on him was not an option. Like most of the people in the Soul Society, she knew how important the formulation of that bond between Zanpakuto and wielder was or maybe she had better idea of that since her Inner World experience with Cho. She had to get him to respect that and understand just how powerful it could be.

With a vague idea of her battle plan, the youthful Taicho raised out of her stooping position and jumped from one tree to the other until she landed in the one against which Kubochi was leaning. She stared at the top of his head for a few more seconds before walking out to the tip of a branch and stepping off of it gracefully. Her feet touched first and twirled around so that she was facing him once her balance had been righted. "Thank you for coming, Kubochi." Her haori was still in the original tree as well as was the sash that connected her saya to her back. For now, her Zanpakuto was situated at her waist on the right hand side. "I'm sorry that it took me this long to push for a Shikai training session but that should be behind us. There are more pressing matters at hand and I think that we should deliberate on them. This is also a test to see where you are at now but keep the focus on being able to communicate and fight alongside your Zanpkauto spirit." If there had been any sign of a smile or warmth on her face, it was gone. "I will not let this be easy for you except for allowing you the first move."

At this moment, Eriko stepped back and reappeared about twenty feet away from him as she had ran backwards. Running starts always gave her a thrill and she wanted him to have the option to do one. Her mind traveled back to her own Shikai training with Masashi-Taicho and made close attention to his behaviour. He had not wanted to draw his sword and probably would not have if it had not been for the flattering effects of Cho. With a quick shake of her head, the memory left her and her focus returned to the boy many feet in front of her. This was his training and if she could, Eriko would delay the use of her sword. He had to get it right this time around and she would make sure that he did. Her hand beckoned him forward with a tiny smile that he probably could not see. "Start please, Kubochi. Don't you think that we've been waiting long enough for this?"

He leaned back against the tree, softer bits of the bark peeling away and leaving the wood residue on his back and shoulders, his neck arched forward so that his eyes were cast slightly downward, and for the second purpose of not letting insects or bark get into his hair. He stood peacefully and relaxed, now suddenly wondering what his captain would be like, personality wise and the like. He had his training to get this far, but nothing else, and he couldn't say he had much people experience. The few that he -had- spoken to were only given a silent or 'speak when spoken to' response. He avoided unnecessary speech in every other situation. His head rose slightly as he sighed, twisting softly at the neck to ease a tense knot with a gentle cracking sound. He straightened his neck and let his gaze fall again to the land. His left hand continued to play gently with the silver string attached to his zanpakuto's hilt. He didn't seem to respond to anything until he felt a bit more bark shake off and gently dust over his shoulders.

He blinked unconsciously at first, not registering the arrival of his captain above him. He hadn't even been looking for the reiatsu of anyone nearby, and his aloof manner could be more disastrous in the field of battle, though he would never drop his guard to such a thing again. He looked up gently as his captain took to her descent from the tree, coming to a stance not more than a couple feet away from him. He smiled gently at her presence, silently hiding the slight surprise at how quietly she'd arrived. His bare back lifted from the tree finally, bits of bark falling as he did so before he began brushing the remains of the tree from his back with his free hand. As he did so, he took a breath, inhaling sharply only to take his time breathing out. He rolled his left shoulder backward in a stretch, taking pride in his body before "No problem.. Figured it was 'bout time to get busy anyhow.. His manner was loose again, much more casual than he would normally allow himself. Upon recognizing it, he bowed at the waist, keeping his eyes up and on his captain before straightening once more.

He hadn't come here with a plan, other than success, with luck and a bit of skill. He knew he was capable of it, should circumstances work in his favor. But even he knew that life was fond of throwing things from any and every available direction. It would definitely take more than luck to get him where he needed to be, for himself and for his team. He simply nodded then sat quietly for the rest of her statement. Of course, soon enough the situation wouldn't require any verbal interaction at all. He watched his captain carefully, the smile slowly fading from her visage. With it, came a slight air of tension that made Aikuro sigh silently to himself, his fingers curling more securely over the sheath of his blade. It was time to become even closer to his sword, to experience the soul within it's cold and metal surface. He had used it to defend his own life, and that of others, so now he would communicate with it as he would one that stood before him, as a person with a heart and spirit.

Without further ado, his neck twisted one last time, cracking once more under the strain as he built his composure. She was allowing him first move, something he hadn't expected. He had hoped he would be given something more pressing to respond to. But a running start would have to be made. His mind and focus steeled on his resolve, and he spread his feet in the grass, bending slightly and holding his sheathed blade at his waist, his arm slightly outstretched at his side. His free hand went to the hilt, as if to draw it slowly in the next movement. He whispered, probably too low for his captain to hear, "Thank you, taicho~" It wasn't his usual, and he would expel more energy than he would like by taking the start, but hey, he wasn't here to complain, nor was he here to make his own choices of where to start. At this point, he was honored to be in the presence of one who knew more than he, and he planned to make full use of that aspect. He took off suddenly, kicking up a small cloud of dust with a sudden shunpo. A lieutenant that knew no shikai, yet was fast enough to use such speed... Probably too strange for some. He stopped at his captain's left flank, turning at the waist and swinging the blade, still sheathed at his captain's neck; a blow that could neutralize one who wasn't careful, able to snap bones at the top of the spine.

My Fears...

User ImageUser ImageEriko had heard his comment of gratitude but decided to leave it alone. He should thank her after he survives this spar and not before it had even begun. She watched his movements carefully, not trying to guess what he was doing but more to see it simply. He had good legs, fast but improvement was needed. That could be taken care of later in his training. Currently, she just wanted him to work with his sword. As the sheathed blade came at her neck, the Taicho flicked it back with the back of her hand while sending a forceful punch to his collar bone. However, she did not stop there. Eriko continued by raising her left leg to kick him in left side with enough power to crack a rib or two but her body was already turning and her right foot came out of nowhere to hit him in the left cheek.

His fingers curled tensely over the sheathed blade as he followed through with the strike, blow poised to impact with enough force to keep momentum flowing. It was easy enough for his captain to deflect, as he'd imagined. He let the sheath bounce off her parry, his eyes narrowing slightly as he carried on with the assault, ready now for her counter. The force of her block was plenty enough for Aikuro to use as an origin to spin off from, his legs placed firmly in the grass, then twisting with a gentle squeak as the grass bent and was crushed underfoot. He rode the momentum through a rapid spin in the opposite direction of which he'd struck, all the time bending at the knees to duck under his taicho's impending attack. She was obviously faster than he, the punch to his collar bone missing only because he'd ducked and began moving the second she blocked him.

He was bent low, about waist level with her as he stretched out his dominant leg in a sliding push off from his stand. His flowing kosode flickered elegantly in the wind, made even more dramatic with the speed they both were moving. He kept away from her second attack with ease and was at her back with his sheathed blade poised for a second movement. With his clothing hanging freely at his waist, his bare chest was already beginning to shine in the sunlight. He silently watched her flank as he swung the blade in a wide arc, aimed at the back of her knees in an effort to strike them and force them out from under her. His hands were now practically glued to the blade, his right just under the tsuba and his left gripping the hilt as he made the swiping pass at his captain's legs.

{-Bows apologetically- Please forgive my excessive tardiness... #_#;; Been a hectic time for me}

User ImageUser ImageEriko sighed as her Lieutenant sidestepped her counter effectively. As he moved to her side and probably behind her, the Taicho turned around to face him, unhooked her Zanpakuto, still within its saya, and brought it down upon Aikuro's arching blade to lock it against the grassy floor before pushing the hilt upwards into the boy's lower jaw, a strike that would throw his body away from hers by some feet. Eriko returned to her full height upon doing this and dashed towards him, drawing her blade to aim a quick but deep backhand slash at his chest, the tip of the blade coming down in an arch from over her right shoulder. The saya was being held tightly in the right hand for counter attack purposes. She had to find a way to influence his initiation of a relationship with the spirit of his Zanpakuto. This did not seem to be enough to her.

His eyes were on his captain's back in that moment, watching for a movement, and wondering if he could pull every detail into place as he needed to, keeping things clean and processed for as long as he could. His eyes narrowed once more as she turned to face him, automatically changing his initial plans for the battle. He pursed his lips as his blade was blocked, he immediately withdrew his arm, lifting the sheathed blade but not fast enough to fully block her blow. As she lift the hilt of her own blade, Aikuro followed the movement and used the hilt of his own blade to partially block the metal, even though the hit was still far more than enough to send his body back. His feet lifted from the floor as he flew back, a jump that would amplify the distance between himself and the captain. He had to reenact things now that her movements were different from his initial plan.

His jaws clenched tight in dulled pain, throbbing slightly after being struck with a metal object. He gently bit down, feeling that it wasn't broken but he felt as if he might be bleeding somewhat. He groaned silently as he looked down at his teacher, while she approached him mid-jump. He furrowed his brow as he watched shortly, watching the gleaming sun from her blade. He immediately took his blade, forcing it's blunt end into the ground by it's hilt, immediately redirecting his jump backwards by pushing off the hilt and to his captain's right side. He spun out of the jump and landed gracefully, away from his captain's strike and as his feet touched down he wasted no time in spiraling on his left foot. The grass folding under his right foot as he rotated his body before he jabbed the sheathed blade low and in towards Eriko's stomach, closing the distance with a gentle rush forward at his captain.

User ImageUser ImageAs Kubochi landed across her to her left side, Eriko repositioned herself and brought her scabbard against his still sheathed Zanpakuto. She would have to make him take it out of that. During her simple parry, Eriko twirled her own blade in her hand so that her fingers were wrapped around the blade and the hilt could be swung into the side of his face, particularly the cheekbone. This was going on long enough. Once she had finished the simultaneous defense and offence, the Jubantai-Taicho flipped away from her Lieutenant and stared at him. Cho was placed into her saya and rehooked at her wielder's side.

"Kubochi, do you want to know your Zanpakuto? I mean, if you don't that's fine with me. You'll just have to work on your Kido and we'll work something out, I'm sure. It's just that you haven't even unsheathed it as yet and I'm here trying to push you until you have to call on it, until that is the only option that you have." Eriko began pacing at this point, turning her gaze away from her subordinate for the time being. She could go that extra mile and release her own Zanpakuto. Maybe he needed to see that or she could continue with the way that things were. It had not been like this when she was training Sakamoto. The objectives had been stated clearly and both parties had tried their best to achieve that goal.

However, she was not getting that same zest from Kubochi and striking without inflicting fatal damage was becoming more and more difficult for the young Captain. Her feet came to a halt. She faced him once again. Slowly, her sword was removed from its saya and flicked out to the opposite side, pointing downwards. "Setsumei, Cho." She did not bother to hide the fact that she was releasing her Zanpakuto from him. He would know it soon enough anyway. The next word out of her mouth was a whisper though. "Jixyuufuku." It did not take a full second for the five live clones to appear around Kubochi, forming a complete wide circle as they did so. Following her Fukutaicho's example, Eriko wasted no time completing the full attack in mind. As soon as the duplicates appeared, all six mouths opened and strong vibrations emitted from each with the sole purpose of striking Kubochi, whether from all sides or not. After Fuxaasuto Kooru had finished, the copies faded out of sight with Eriko's eyes never leaving her charge. "I told you that this will not be easy for you." She wanted to add more but hopefully, that little trick had conveyed the extremity of her words exactly.

Aikuro's eyes gleamed as he watched his captain, turning again and blocking his advance with a simple parry. He mumbled quietly with every move, his lips parting and coming together slowly as if speaking, yet allowing no audible words to leave his lips. He was thinking visibly again, even as his sheath was successfully blocked. His eyes shot downward in an instant as his lips curled into a soft smile. 'Almost ready... Just..' His thoughts were interrupted as she twirled her blade. He lifted his right hand, leveling it with his cheek as she struck out at him. His palm was open as he held the arm up to block the strike out of instinct. It felt more like a slap than anything, which brought all of his senses back to his captain's movements instead of his own.

As she flipped away, his hand dropped to the hilt of his blade and he took a step back from the fray, eyes intently watching Eriko as she began to pace. He eyed her curiously at first, then simply glared as she spoke. 'It seems I've been mistaken..' He would have smiled a bit at the notion, but wiped it away before it ever appeared. 'The rest then is a waste of time.' He twirled his blade once and lifted it so that the length of it's metal was horizontal and level with his chest. He held the blade by it's sheath and hilt as he continued to watch his captain. She began to call out a name, undoubtedly the name of her partner in battle, causing Aikuro to frown slightly. His expression soured as he clenched his teeth, bracing himself for the next few moments. The five clones that appeared were a bothersome development, ones he figured he'd have to watch himself for. Of course, he'd no experience fighting a zanpakuto released as of yet.

His eyes widened considerably as the vibrations and sounds suddenly rang throughout his body. He could practically feel himself and his blade shaking and vibrating. He clenched his eyes and jabbed the sheath into the ground holding himself up as he struggled to keep a glaring eye on at least one of the clones. He kept his balance using his sword, but he was a bit beyond disoriented, he couldn't sit there. He looked up suddenly and watched as the clones disappeared. He set his jaw and was standing straight in an instant, but gone from Eriko's view for a second. He came to a running halt behind her, sliding slightly as he slashed vigorously at her neck, unsheathing his blade with his left hand and aiming for the top of her spine, the strike off by several inches as he stumbled from being barely able to see stand upright.

He knew it better than she would see, the strike was poised to fail. His feet were planted in the grass as it was crushed underfoot. He swung on a pivot, using his unreliable balance to twirl into the strike. He bet on the simplicity of a block or parry, keeping his eyes open as he fell off the mark of his strike all the more from the speed of his movements. He felt as if he was moving underwater, though his body movements were only affected in terms of balance. He disregarded the fact that he probably wouldn't be able to hear for a moment, his feet already in position for his next movement.

User ImageUser ImageEriko sighed gratefully as the young man uncovered his sword. However, she blinked once and found him to be running up behind her. Her blade came to clash with his as she turned to face him and pressed down as he seemed to be moving downwards in any case. The Taicho removed her sword and kicked him firmly in the chest to the rest of the way but she did not make any movement to expand the proximity between them. For a few seconds, her eyes wandered over him as her mind tried to figure out what was wrong with this situation. "Cho is a simple Zanpakuto," she began, stating her words clearly as the mentioned blade rested back on her shoulder, "She does not need much. All that is required is my trust, my loyalty and my respect. If I don't trust her, she has no reason to bother with me. Without my loyalty, there is no point in forming a bond. As for respect, we all deserve it but it has to be earned. I earned hers and she has mine. However, all of that cannot happen with a lack of communication."

The Zanpakuto was placed into her saya again. Eriko searched his eyes again before lunging forward in a Shunpo, palms outstretched to cover the entirety of his arms and legs in Tokubetsusecchakuzai while forcing him into a proper standing position. Wordlessly, the young woman unsheathed her kodachi again and made a slash against the inside of her trainee's right forearm. It was not an intentionally deep wound since what mattered for Mudana Doku was the reality of a cut being made. She knew that both abilities lasted for relatively the same amount of time but she wanted to make this as desperate a situation as possible. It was probably very sadistic of her but if it accomplished what was needed, it was a means to an end. "So, Kubochi, tell me about your Zanpakuto. What is he or she like?" She kept her eyes more on the trickling blood stream as the question was asked, already thinking of where next to strike.

Aikuro's chest caved slightly, his mouth hanging agape for the limited duration of the kick to his chest. The second his bare back hit the ground, he bounced gently off of it, rolling only a couple feet, doing nothing for his cause, since his captain was now speaking to him. He groaned gently as he jammed his sheath into the ground, his blade gleaming in the sun as his grip tightened around it. His right hand steadied him against the sheath, he used to stand upright on one knee. He listened to his captain, saying nothing in return as he breathed slowly.

He kept his gaze level on his captain, noticing he no longer staggered down or experienced dizziness. He was fine for now, the effects from his captain's shikai attack wearing away slowly. He'd no way to counter an attack based in sound, he was lost in that aspect. Without paying too much mind to the subject, he followed his teacher's words for a while, taking them in and only responding by gripping his blade tighter. She wanted or needed for him to communicate with his blade. As close as he held his partner in battle, he'd never 'spoken' to it. He respected the sword as it's wielder should, but he had never been invited to see the soul within. He grit his teeth as he watched, then closed his eyes for a second, trying to 'feel' his zanpakuto in a new way. He didn't want to sit here like a defenseless idiot while she pounded the truth into him, something he'd seen long ago. As his head bow gently, he didn't respond when she suddenly was upon him. He was pulled upright, then made immobile by the binding properties of her ability. He kept cool, his last thought on the subject being simple and dry as ever, She obviously doesn't want me moving...

His arms and legs were still, his blade and sheath still defiantly clenching his weapon, unmoving. He made no efforts to move, knowing that as he was caught, even thinking of doing so was futile. His breath left his nasal passages in a soft and even flow, even as her blade slashed through his arm. Had this arm and hand not been bound by her ability, he would have dropped his sheath by now. He didn't respond, all but couldn't respond to his captain as he searched. For what, he was almost unaware, the only thing he wanted or even needed was a voice. He could still hear her, asking about his zanpakuto as she stood on the edge of his psyche. It was all the inspiration he needed to delve deeper, meditating somewhat as he searched for who he was, and as a part of him, who his zanpakuto was.

'What exactly -is- your name..?' Deeper, deeper, diving into his mind. He knew he'd probably see some screwed images in his own head, but all he could see, even feel, was darkness. He couldn't see anything, save for a small inkling of light. He could feel himself walking toward that spot, a faint whisper in his ear. 'I've not been ignoring you this whole time... Have I?' He looked around, again, to little effect. The entire area remained dark as he wandered closer and into the dim lighting. As he approached, his sword lay there, prompting him to take it up with no hesitation. As he did, he could feel it humming, vibrating softly in his hand. Your name... is..'

User ImageUser ImageEriko paced evenly in front of her suspended Lieutenant as sighed as the minutes ticked on without a verbal reply from him. Her grey eyes flickered over his appearance ever so often. He seemed to be trying in some way to do what she had implied: communicate with your sword. Eventually, she could not take it anymore. This was so frustrating!

"Not everyone is like you, little Miss Beg and Beg Then Fail," Cho remarked inside her wielder's mind.

The Jūbantai-Taichō sighed at the words, refusing to regard their full meaning in that moment. She turned to face Kubochi fully, letting her sword hand drop to her side as she stared at his face. "However, I'm not saying that we have the best of relationships but it does beat not knowing her at all. Wake it up or die." The young female hardened her gaze through fatal slits before spinning on the spot to deal a kick to her subordinate's chest that would surely knock him out of her Shikai abilities as well as deliver horrendous internal damage if it connected. Once her feet found the ground again, Eriko dashed forward with a blade tip at the ready to pierce through him if it had to come to that.

Aikuro's eyes shifted blindly for a moment, unable to see or feel anything beyond the weapon in his hand. There was not even any wind to speak of, the feel of this 'room' was stagnant and left something human to be desired. He gripped the hilt of his blade tighter to no avail. There was nothing as far as he could see aside from utter pitch-blackness. Before long, of course, he'd become bored and slightly frustrated with the lack of a development. He couldn't even tell what sort of ground he was standing on, if any in this situation. He crouched down to feel the texture of what was below him, taking into his hand what was soft and grainy, something that felt like sand. It was then that a faint whisper could be heard though he could not hear what was said. The sudden sound made him stand immediately, looking back in the general direction of the voice. 'Nothing.. Where are you?'

While he was not entirely sure as to what he was doing or even who he should be looking for, he was smart enough to know it when he saw it. But how would he deal with being unable to see anything at all? A sudden shift of the winds reached his ears, making them twitch in the fraction of a second it took for him to hear it. Without hesitating, he whirled around, taking his blade and swinging it at chest level with himself out of reflex. Again, his attempts met nothing but air, but his sight was rewarded with a night-time view of a river bank. There was a simple flow of water running by with no sound, intriguing him further as he stepped up to it. Looking down at his reflection, the only oddity he noticed was a the visage of a woman at his side, which, needless to say, sent a jolt down his spine as he made a move to swing, which was abruptly stopped by the woman.

Her hand rested calmly on his wrist a mere second before it could twist into a strike against the figure, who was smirking furtively as she did so. Aikuro's eyes were wider than usual for a second, but as they slowly slid back into his usual slit of a glare, the woman smiled harder. "Did I scare you, 'Kuro-kun~?" Aikuro's brow stiffened at the informal wreck of his name although he didn't move a muscle. 'Is this.. My zanpakuto?' She was far shorter than he was, just barely at five feet with tall hair curled into a bun. What made Aikuro silent though was her outfit. The first thing was the billowing scarf that slid silkily from his shoulder and down to her waist. Ironically enough, that scarf probably held the most cloth on her entire person. She was almost entirely bare save for a slim strip of cloth that covered her breasts over a fishnet cover, the same for the silk cloth covering her waist-line.

The only other clothing items were light armor on her arms and two tanto strapped to her back. Aikuro hadn't taken more than a second to gauge most of her appearance, closing his eyes after he was done and lightly pushing away her hand from his. He cut to the chase, hoping to make progress early, "You know, you're hard to find. Tell me your name." To which he almost kicked himself for being so forward in the delicate situation, and it showed in the way his body tensed. "You're not very good at this, are you?" She implied with a grin as she turned and wiped her hand across seemingly nothing, only for a small space to clear, giving him a clear view of his captain's words and actions. His eyes trailed her for a moment and he could practically feel an attack coming, thankful for things being slowed down for his sake. "You heard the woman, I need to know who you are.. Tell me or she'll try to gut me, then we won't be able to hold all these lovely conversations together."

Her devilish smile returned as he said that before she casually strode toward Aikuro's front then stood there and lift a hand to his cheek, her back turned to him. "Only if you promise to come back soon... Y'know, you 'an me should be fighting right now, not you and her~" To this, Aikuro's response was kept to himself. He didn't like the thought of being enticed by his own zanpakuto, and even less that he was probably about to be cut to ribbons if she didn't give him a name soon. He would have to play along. "I can do that, if you don't mind waiting for me." Her smile sent a chill down his spine as she looked up at him and pulled his chin down so that his ear was level with her mouth, effectively hunching him over and whispering into his ear. "I've always been waiting. Don't hold me up for long, 'Kuro-kun. Awarasowarenai, Shinshoku~"

Aikuro blinked with a smile, but was beyond surprised to see that it wasn't dark anymore, but sunny again. It hurt his eyes to see for a split second as it felt as if he were coming back into consciousness. His spiritual pressure spiked suddenly as his eyes snapped open, his zanpakuto's name ringing in his ears as he lifted the blade to block his captain. He was only able to lift the blade high enough to reach his chest, which was just enough to make the kick thud against the broad end of his sword, now much thicker and black from his release. His still-recovering body was knocked back from the blow, sending him rolling back several yards before he regained what little balance he could on stiff limbs. He stayed low on one knee, planting his left foot on the ground as he lift his blade a second time, this time more committed to halting the oncoming attack as he steadied himself.

He coughed roughly in response to the caving feeling in his chest from being kicked there twice now. 'I suppose she likes kicking me there... Gah..' One of his eyes clenched shut as he held his head up, flicking his hair back out of his eyes with a sharp motion of his neck as he glared up at his captain. "It was a bit difficult at first.. I can already tell, she's a fickle one. I didn't have a chance to get to know her though, due to time constraints.." The words left his mouth quickly, referring to his zanpakuto as his charge lunged at him. He looked past her to notice that in the tumble backward, his sheath had finally fallen out of his hands and was now out of reach entirely. The shallow cut wasn't enough to eradicate use of his arm for battle, but now he had to be even more careful as he raised his sword into a defensive stance.

User ImageUser ImageThe sudden spike in her subordinate's reiatsu release was more comforting than anything else. It meant that she had not been talking in vain for however long as well as that he had learnt at least the name of his Zanpakuto. From there, he would have to learn how to work alongside it in battle and elsewhere. Eriko allowed the base of her foot to hit against the flat side of Kubochi's altered blade and smiled even more when the boy managed to block her second attack, despite the close reaction time. She nodded at his words and let off with her blade so that she was not leaning down on him.

"Perfect." While she whispered this singular word, Eriko was already pulling out five explosives from her shoulder blade, having activated it mentally. The respective disks were thrown at him before she flipped backwards away from him. Once her feet touched the floor, her lips parted again to say, "Fuxaasuto Kooru," and followed it with the accustomed piercing scream. As the last vibration left her mouth, Eriko sighed and sheathed her sword, Shikai still in play. The whole plan for this training session had not revealed itself to her as yet but she was willing to wing it till it did.

[Sorry. Inspiration low~]
