She reckoned everyone would be able to see it, and that I'd never get a job etc. I found it hilarious coming from a woman with a huge ankh on her upper arm, but I still do what mum tells me, cos she generally knows best. It's taken me YEARS to be allowed to stretch my ears, but she took me to get my labret pierced when I was still in school and wasn't meant to have facial piercings. Go figure. smile

I thought you were getting it somewhere that would be easily hidden? Did that change? I'm the same way though, I tend to listen to my mom. Tattoos have never been an issue though in my family. Even if my mom had been against them my dad would have taken me to get one. He's all for tattoos and has been trying to convince my mom to get one for years, he almost has her convinced I think. She at least has decided what she'll get if she ends up getting one.
I don't recall if you've mentioned how far you plan on stretching your ears. That's kind of funny that you're only just allowed to do that but facial piercings were okay.

I was going to put it behind my ear, but she reckons everyone will be able to see it. Tattoos aren't usually an issie with my family either. Well, with my mum at least, but she's the only one whose opinion means much when it comes to body modifications. I've only ever wanted to stretch them to maybe three milimetres, maybe five at the most. And I know, right?

I don't see how given the size and location but I can see why you'd listen. It sounds like you and your mom are pretty close. That was torture. Three millimeters doesn't look too bad, I couldn't handle looking up five though. I just can't handle the larger gauged ears that came up.

I think one day I'd love to have a corset piercing down my back. Only temporary and for showing off, but it would be lovely to lace ribbons through hoops and tie them at the bottom. <3

It's not like you'd have to see it and it's not like its forever.

I like many body mods, although I only have a couple myself. Specifically, my lip and ears are pierced. I don't really consider hair-dying to be a mod, but it is mentioned as one in the OP, and if that counts, then I've modded my hair more times than I can count. xD It's been various shades of pink, purple, burgundy, red, blue, blue-green, dark green, black, brown, and streaked with blonde. (Technically, it's bleached blonde before any of the candy colours, but that doesn't really count.) Never done light green, turquoise, or orange, though.
I love nice ink on other people. Not gonna lie, I have a soft spot for girls who rock lots of nice tattoos. Think the Suicide Girls aesthetic. <3
Despite this, I have no tattoos myself. Not a one. There're two big reasons for this: First, I don't want to limit my employment opportunities down the road, so visible tattoos are a no-no for the time being. Second, the not-usually-visible parts of my body aren't exactly the parts I'd want to emphasize or high-light with a tattoo. sweatdrop Maybe if I were in better shape, but for the time being, nope.

As a teenager, I had a lot of piercings, although not all at once, and several places (namely my eyebrow and lip) had been pierced more than once. (As in pierced, left to grow over, then repierced.) Actually, I could probably still get jewelry in my earlobes, but I haven't tried in a long time. The minor scars left by piercings are so insignificant compared to other scars I have that I am not the least bit bothered by them.
I also have two tattoos, and would like to get more. The issue is money, since the work I have in mind would cost as much as or more than my tuition. :p
I like tattoos, but if the quality is poor or the tattoo wasn't cared for, they can look awful.
My boyfriend has a half-dozen tats and 0g plugs in his ears, and I love it. :3 To be honest, very few of my friends are inkless.

Well, last year I got my first tattoo, and now am planning a video game-themed sleeve. I also got a full time office job and had to ditch my lovely labret piercing. crying
