Huang followed closely behind Kotone and sighed. while he tried to imagine himself very capable, even he sometimes had a hard time in unknown surroundings. It was a great relief though to rely on the girl, who he considered a friend in ways. As he trailed behind her, he kept silent as he listened for anyone that might plan a sneak on them. While they we're students, Huang had no doubt in his mind that amongst the group of the Masked guys was even sneakier and experienced warriors.

He was relieved to hear the sound of Suzu, the girl from the class talking as they got closer he could hear her give unlimited amounts of idea's on how to get into the class.

Pulling into the group, Huang remained silent as Jianyu went into thought, as if deciding on which action of hers was best. Even as he did so, He quickly issued the plans. Huang liked this one though, no more wandering around for the front door when he was pretty sure, he would never find it. Nodding his head, He waited till Jianyu moved forward to his attack.

"Be careful Ladies."
Huang nodded to them before pulling his own claw on and followed Jianyu in the attack. As the guards fell from Jianyu's aim, Huang went forward clearing out anyone else. He was quick and stealthy, but even so, he took more blows as they we're quickly surrounded.

As he fought the men, he was engage intently with one much taller and much stronger then himself. This man ran at him like a bull, smashing him into the wall. Huang felt his breath whoosh out of his system as he was slammed. It was hard, his breathing but he reached up to slug the man to get off him, ranging his kicks out to aim for the man's ribs.

Huang looked over to Jianyu as he was swarmed and then to Suzu and Kotone, Hopefully they would move fast. On the other hand, He really wish they had some sort of back up.

Eiji would've been really nice in this moment, Huang sneered.

Eiji turned to the tap. ”What?” He instinctually questioned, not meant for a reply. ”Tips or requests? You make this sound like it’s a restaurant and you’re a lounge singer...” Eiji replied in a lower tone then prior.

Watching the action he was surely not going to let them have all the fun. ”I don’t believe the others will move in until the time is right,” he signaled towards Kotone and Suzu, ”and I’m sure once the ruckus here becomes larger it will be much harder to get the students out. I suggest you go and help them out, they are bound to need it.” Eiji was well aware that he should help the two out in any way possible. Yes the archer was strong and Huang seemed to have been keeping his own but things could still turn ugly if one of them missed a cue and went down. At this point he had to make a choice: go and help the men out or the women.

”Okay then.. Eiji said allowed as turned to Yue, reaching up to palm Sumu’s stomach and swinging the cat around in front of him. ”In any other situation I wouldn’t be doing this but I don’t know the skill of you girls. You may need the extra help.. who knows.." Handing Sumu to Yue he continued. "I’m going to help them fight. You go and be of aid to the girls over there. Take Sumu with you. He should be of some help.”

At this point in time Jianyu and Huang became surrounded. With that Eiji said one last thing and ran off, ”Oh and don’t take Sumu lightly just because he’s a cat. He's a feisty thing.”

Eiji couldn’t believe where all the guys came from and the ranges in their size. He had no intention on running in blindly and attacking. That, in a sense, would be pointless and wasteful. He maneuvered around some of the men, doing some random gut punches in hopes to take some of them down quickly, as he prepared himself to attack his main target. Not necessarily being the best fighter right now at this point it didn’t make a difference. He’s gotten into enough street brawls to know he shouldn't go down with one hit, or so he thought. Eiji suddenly stopped mid stride, planted his foot and issued a smooth, high kick to shoulder of the man who was currently fighting with Huang. ”Switch!” The sudden attack broke the man’s complete focus on Huang for a brief moment. Holy... s**t... Eiji thought to himself as he landed on two feet again. He knew the guy was going to be solid but not that solid. Eiji was surprised Huang survived the slam. Kicking him alone was like hitting a brick wall. He just might go down from a hit from a guy like this.. He just had to make sure not to get hit.

”Huang!” Eiji shouted, pointing in Jianyu’s direction, ”Go help your friend. We won’t last long if he goes down! We have to finish this now!” For all it mattered Eiji’s first goal was a success; to stop the “bull” from attacking Huang further. The man was now more enraged then before, if not from being hit then from the sheer annoyance of it all. Now of course Eiji could have helped Jianyu from the start, and left Huang to fend for himself and be possibly overpowered, but he knew well enough about teamwork and knew that Huang would have been a better teammate to Jianyu then himself. It’s not out of his nature to toss himself in instead of someone else who is best suited elsewhere, or is seriously overpowered. ”Besides... you were clearly losing.” He quickly added with a smirk.

The comment didn't last long as Eiji soon had to dodge a punch from the rather annoyed guard. "Oh shi-"

Time felt like it was suddenly speeding up and gaining even more speed as it passed. She found herself giving a determined nod of affirmative to everyone who addressed her as a wordless reply that she understood. And also, inside herself she had suddenly found herself desperately shoving aside her insecurities so as to set her focus on processing what was at hand around her.

Their task was to free the hostages. Kotone felt like a boat caught in a storm of self-doubt and negativity, but she didn’t want to give up. When it appeared that the masked Lunarians confronting Jianyu, Huang-Fu, and Eiji were quite thoroughly immersed in their fights, she gave as positive a smile she could managed to Suzu as she said, “It looks like now is a good opportunity for us to go.” Kotone’s expression then became serious again as she faced ahead and then charged forward in the shadows. Everyone will be alright, she told herself inwardly, willing herself to be optimistic.

There were so many masked Lunarians, but she focused on analyzing those guarding the cooking room’s entrance when they were within sight. What may be their strengths and limitations? How could she handle her strengths and limitations to confront these guards?

The entrance to the classroom was open but the masked guards were blocking the opening, so clearing the way would come first and keeping it unblocked for escapees would be second. That she was currently undetected was an advantage she had available to figure out how to make use of for when she comes out into the open. Another thing she felt worthwhile to expend on clearing the opening was that since thirty minutes had passed, she could elongate her staff another time.

Speed and endurance were her better points over strength and defense. She also had a fair grasp on being creative in spontaneous situations and the element of surprise, but she was fully aware that once her presence was more concrete, there was an extremely high likelihood that she’d be in a bind in no time regardless of where her speed, endurance, strength, and defense stood given how experienced the opponents were compared to her.

But, still she decided that she’d deal with that when it was upon her. And the reason she decided this was because time was of the essence and with her sudden idea for her first move, she ran along the border of the shadows in preparation for shooting out of them as she ran up the wall. Then when she pushed off said wall, her figure made the transition from the darkness to full view relying now solely on quick and solid executions as she sent a swift kick with her right foot landing at the back of a tall guard’s neck for a knockout.

And next, using her left foot, she pushed off said tall guard’s upper back into a fast flip over a shorter guard’s head and into the cooking classroom. Then, right after her landing, she went into a diagonal jump back to dodge on oncoming straight blow of a sword’s blade delivered by said shorter guard who had turned back after realizing she’d flipped over him. Whether or not she realized that another rip on her clothes for mending, cleanly on her left sleeve by the sword’s sharp blade in this case, had been inflicted after narrowly avoiding an added stain of blood, she just went on with the rest of the plan of action that was shaping itself in her mind as she pressed forward.

Extend! Kotone had grabbed the upper hilt of the katana with her left hand and upon the inward exclamation, her staff in her right hand’s hold which she had been set on the ground in a reinforcing slant elongated as she kicked the shorter guard in the gut, unarming him and sending him flying back through the opening and further out of the classroom.

“Let’s get out of here, everyone,” she called to her fellow students in the cooking room with an upward semicircular motion with her sword-armed left hand. ”To the front of the school,” she audibly enough for them but hurriedly whispered to the first students that rushed out of the cooking room, hoping that they may possibly end up proceeding in a follow the leader sort of fashion eventually along the way upon getting past this area where fighting had erupted.

And now after these two moves, her presence was now certainly concrete to the masked individuals who‘d witnessed these executions of hers, her peripheral vision taking in any masked opponent who may attack next. The opening had been cleared, but keeping it unblocked would be no simple matter either she was well-aware.

Kotone took several steps forward and crossed the katana with her staff behind it in a block of a downward slice sent at her by the masked opponent that confronted her next. It was suddenly a sort of arm wrestling match, except with the whole body. Said opponent had attacked her weak point. She countered with two quick sidesteps to the right then left, the first to avoid being further overpowered and the second was blindly and desperately accompanied by her threatening sweep to the side of the blade of the katana in her left hand.

She missed as she had expected as said opponent smoothly jumped back to evade the sword and as a bonus to her humiliation, the blade had hit the wall and sent a painful shiver up her left arm. “Augh,” she sharply groaned at the discomfort that shook her being, her staff-armed right hand reflexively freed some of her fingers and grasp at her left shoulder, her left arm with sword slightly convulsing as it hung at her side further recovering.

The masked Lunarian she was facing was clearly playing with her as she was watched with mocking eyes rather than attacked as of yet. Kotone’s pained expression changed to a glare at said masked Lunarian as her staff-armed right hand returned to a defensive position along with the rest of her stance with the exception of her left hand which was currently insisting on taking another moment or so longer to regain its bearings.

Kotone couldn’t help the sudden heightening of the infuriated wave of emotion that came upon her as it suddenly struck her that the individual before her taking part in disrupting what amount of neutrality the academy contained had now also rubbed salt on her wounds. However, Kotone willed herself to think beyond this anger and focus on figuring out how else she could proceed in helping to keep the opening clear for all the students inside to exit the cooking room. While her gaze was set on the masked Lunarian the was at the moment challenging and standing ahead of her with a ridiculing look, her peripheral vision was aiding her in keeping attentive of other masked Lunarians who may come at her direction aiming to again get the opening blocked up.

More of them?!

It was the first thought that crossed her mind as she heard voices in the hall, but some of them were...familiar. Did her other classmates come back for them?

Her legs were sore from crouching on the floor, but she scrambled up to the nearest desk and peeked over. It looked like Kotone and the others were trying to distract their masked guard, giving them time to make a break for it.

She didn't know if she could make it. She was still against the back wall, nearest the small cubby window. Most of the other students had run out at the first sign of distraction, and the few stragglers were warily making their way forward. Grimly determined, Zhen reached into the desk before her, and pulled out an old friend from earlier- the overripe melons.

With a mock-battlecry, she launched them with her feet as she had before in their messy food war, this time at the intruders instead of her fellow students. Maybe she wouldn't get out, but she could help buy the others time.

Jianyu did not particularly enjoy the thrusting jab into his side from one of the men he was fighting. It winded him, knocked him off balance, and for a few seconds he could not seem to catch himself, until at last his feet slid into position and he managed to stop himself from falling flat on his behind. He swiftly dropped to his knees, swinging is leg in a wide arc and knocking his opponent onto his back. A quick slam to the man's head, and one more guard was down.

Huang-Fu was doing his work well. Metal claws extended, he was thrashing about with an angry, determined look on his face as he crushed a fist into one man's face, then wheeled a kick in the stomach of another. Jianyu felt a surge of pride for his pupil, and could not help the small feeling of relief. He was glad to have someone there who could fight alongside him well enough to keep the men at bay.

Reaching out, Jianyu's fingers closed around the collar of the last man standing, and he jerked him up, slamming him up against the nearest wall. With his free hand, he reached around, sliding an arrow from his sheath, and whipped it around, pointing it in the direction of the man's neck.

"Speak." Jianyu said. "Or I will slit your throat too slow for you to die instantly. Why have you come here?"

"We came to test you." said a raspy, unfamiliar voice, and Jianyu reached up with his arrow, pulling off the black mask with its razor tip. The cloth fell to the ground, and Jianyu stared. He did not recognize the face behind the mask. The man's face was lined, and he coughed, spitting blood.

"I said, we came to test you." He answered.

"Test us?" Jianyu repeated, his irritation growing. "What do you mean test us?"

The man shrugged, reaching up to run a weathered, still strong hand through his grizzled dark hair.

"We all know that these students are in this school for a reason," he said. "They are training to become Fighters and Soul Conduits so that they are able to defend themselves against a variety of scenarios. This entire day was planned and verified by the Academy teaching staff as a way of teaching first hand what it's like to be in a dire situation. Though I must admit, we did not anticipate having an actual Fighter in the school. It made things a bit more complicated."

Jianyu's blood roared in his ears.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" he shouted, throwing the man sideways. "These are children, and you are treating them like some sort of experiment! They are not for your entertainment! Do you realize how worried and frightened some of them must be? What is wrong with you?"

The man let out a derisive snort.

"Don't worry," he said, hauling himself to his feet. "You all passed. Barely." Giving a low whistle, he made some sort of hand gesture and started walking away.

"Hey!" Jianyu shouted after him. "Old man! What are you going to do about this school, then? You've half-destroyed it!"

The man gave another shrug, looking unconcerned.

"That's not my problem anymore." he said. "My work here is done."

Jianyu stared after his retreating back, stunned, and for a few moments he could not think. His mind refused to accept the fact that this had all been a setup from the beginning; a simple game that the Academy had made to keep its pride and its majesty and its high standards as high as they were. The Academy was well-renowned for producing graduates that went on to become great and important figures in Lunaria, as well as a strong batch of Fighters, both Noble and Legion alike. But to think that they would have gone so far as to play this sort of experiment on them...Jianyu was finding it difficult to believe, even though the truth of it was right in front of them all.

"Jianyu!"

Turning his head, Jianyu felt a wave of relief wash over him when he saw two familiar young girls running up to him. His sisters threw their arms around his waist, and Jianyu hugged them closely, breathing out slowly. Around him, he could hear the low voices and the muffled footsteps of the students around him as they returned to the school. There was the general murmur of shock and surprise, as well as an undercurrent of irritation that Jianyu was very much in agreement with. He glanced around at the faces of those he had been in contact with, of those who had been willing to do what it took to protect the students of the school. They were a good group, with good hearts. He rather liked them all. Jianyu let out a curse, then sighed, closing his eyes.

What a day.

"Everyone," he said. "Let's go home."
