This week's fight is between Gundam GP-01 and the Hyaku Shiki!
Check the scores thread to find how they match up.
GP-01 Strengths
Verniers spread across the suit, allowing for extreme maneuverability, Core lander allows for fighting even if the suit itself is incapacitated.
Weaknesses
GP-01 has limited energy packs for it's beam rifle, a total of three. Once out of energy packs, it must rely on close range combat with beam sabers.
Hyaku Shiki Strengths: Gundam-class armor, along with anti-minovsky coating, deflects much of the beam damage done to it. Boasts a more varied arsenal than the GP, and is much faster in close combat.
Weaknesses: It takes a hell of a pilot to use this MS effectively. Anyone but Char would be a liability on the battlefield.

I think the Hyaku Shiki has it. The pilot being Char, or whatever his name is when he is piloting it, is a much more experienced fighter, at long and close range. This is of course assuming that it is the intended pilots for them.

Okay, I did the reading. A fight between Zephyranthes and Hyaku Shiki is definitely a close one. Both carry identical fixed armaments, and both are armored to the same thickness with the same material. However, GP01 is quite a bit heavier than the Shiki. That'd mean a big difference in overall speed and reaction time. The Shiki's reactor has about 110% the max output of the GP01, with both suits loaded with stock, normal settings. (I think we should compare the original version of each suit. GP01fb should be matched against the Hyaku Shiki Kai.) However, GP01's thruster output is much greater. This might mean the mounted weaponry of the GP charges and fires slower, due to the small reactor. Also, beam weaponry is much less effective on the Shiki, due to its unique coating, anyway. That, and the Shiki's beam rifle is twice as powerful as the GP01's. It is a very close match, much closer than Heavyarms v. Shining...but I think the Hyaku Shiki has the win. It's like three generations newer than the GP01, anyway.

I'm going with the GP-01. I feel like it'd be a close win in the match between the two anyway. And, I hate to ask, what are verniers?

Ty Gwynnia I'm going with the GP-01. I feel like it'd be a close win in the match between the two anyway. And, I hate to ask, what are[i/i] verniers? Verniers are the little mini-jets that are all over the mobile suits. They enable the mecha to move in three dimensions when in space. The two main verniers are on the back, and there's several smaller ones hidden throughout the armor.
