A.i. Actually, I think the reason why people don't like us all too much is much more simple. The majority of users on this website are children, and being so, they do not like to be corrected. I believe that many of them think of this as their sandbox, they think they can do whatever they want and talk about whatever they want and when we step in and tell them they got it all wrong, they get upset. Adults, or at least mature teens can take criticism politely. It's just a case of pampered, stubborn children being straightened out. I know that many used to hate me a lot when I went around posting images a lot. Rolf once posted a quote from a VGP hater that claimed he hated "BGBW and the rest of the VG Paladins". Wither he just remembered my name or for some reason he though I headed the whole thing.
Anywho, the days of me posting images are over (it did feel a bit spammy) and I tend to only use the report feature on rare occasions, since most people get their before me, or the fact that mods take ages to respond (I once reported a thread and it took a day to get moved, which by that time the thread was long dead).
I guess I found the whole rule of being polite rather restrictive, especially when most people ignored it, so over time I'd make my comments more tongue in cheek, carefully treading along the fine line.
