The members of FJ seem confused about something, I've noticed. They misuse the word, "meme." The members say it means any banal picture with a caption, but it actually means "something that got famous overnight on the internet."

Are you sure they're missusing it? Courage wolf and Rage wolf both use captions and they're memes. And so do the Xzibit pics.

Yes, those are memes. But everytime someone tries to push a new caption/picture combo on the viewers, they mistakenly call it a meme.

Oh, I see. I know I'm a bit late here but the pushing memes down peoples throats is becoming all the rage within the Anonymous community. Both on 4chan and FJ, it has become a meme in itself.

Some memes are great, could see them again and again, but I really think the funk is leaving 4chan.

4chan has never had any funk. People think it was so much better before, it wasn't. 4chan and more specifically /b/ has always been like this. The gigantic influx of summer___s has left /b/ with hundred of new___s but that's what happens every single time. No matter how much you want to complain, it has always been the same. The real old___s are the ones that have stuck by /b/ even after the biggest influx of new___s after project Chanology brought so much attention to them. You have to stick by what you believe in because if no then you can't call yourself a revolutionary.
All these self named old___s that have been leaving /b/ came in after project Chanology and they don't have any reason to stick by /b/. The real old___s are still there, they are there all the time. 4chan has been the same way from the beginning and nothing will ever change...
With that aside. Hi.
