Ash's Office!
Ash's office is a medium sized room. Along both of the walls are about ten bookshelves total. One of the bookshelves contains joke books that Ash likes to read in her spare time. Though she never uses the jokes. Most of the other books are fiction. Though she does have some books about Hollows and other Shinigami books.
In the center of the room is a medium sized desk. That amazingly is kept nice and neat. The desk usually has a stack of papers that are needed to be signed in the right hand corner of the desk. Though at times it grows too big and ends up being two stacks when Ash is being too lazy to fill out any papers.
Also in the room there is a small hammock like bed that she sometimes takes a nap on when she's too lazy to go find her room. Its small and doesn't take up much space but at the same time Ash would rather sleep on that than her real bed in her room.

Things had been slow around the division. Or at least Ash thought so. Boring. That was the word she was thinking of at the moment. She lay on the hammock she had in her office. To lazy and tired to move about to find something to do though. So it was probably. No wait. It was her fault that she was bored. She made a deep sigh. Why were things always so complicated around these parts? Why is there never anything fun to do? The answers of course wouldn't come to her. They never did when she wanted them too.
After a moment she finally decided to move her head and look at the other half of the room. She noticed a stack of papers on her desk and groaned. More work. She always hated this part of being a Captain. Captains always usually have paper work to do. That was one of the things Ash detested. Aggravated as she was about getting up she finally decided to do something. Getting up and moving around the room was a pain. The books on the bookshelves looked utterly unappealing to her at the moment. Which that in itself was very strange. Usually Ash loved a good book. Especially a joke book. Which was the books she was looking at, at the moment. Heaving another sigh she moved around the room yet again.
Not finding anything else to do, she sat down at her desk and started the dreadful paper work. After signing one signature she threw the pen down on the table. Giving up entirely about doing the work. She once again got up. This time though she couldn't stand sitting down. So she began to pace. "Ugh! I'm so bored! Why is there nothing to do!" She hissed loudly. Then again. She wasn't all too surprised. The division did seem to be empty again. Which meant that Ash needed more people to hang with so she wasn't always too bored.
Thinking the way Ash did, she needed something to occupy her time. Many things happen in her mind when she isn't paying attention. Most of the time when that happens, well, its not good. Cause she eventually finds those things in her mind and acts on them. Also not a good thing. It might sometimes get her in trouble with those around her. AKA the other Captains. And yet again. That brought up the problem of Ash's boredness. It annoyed and bothered her. But also it made her happy. Cause her mind wanted to wonder. "No. I will not be a bad girl......" She ended up murmuring to herself. But then again. When has that stopped her.

Masaki and knocked on the office door. Semi-polite. Howeverm he didn't wait for a response before coming in. Rude? Some might say so. Other would say it was . . . friendly? Was that the right word? All these things were still going through his mind when suddenly Masaki bumped into the desk.
Ouch.
Taking the pain like the manly man he was (Ouch Ouch Ouch!) he stood up straight and placed a hand on the back of his head, smiling. "Yo, I'm Masaki Nakamura, and I'll be your new fukutaichou." Yo? When did Masaki ever use yo? Never, that's when. But he always seemed to give people weird first impressions, and now he knew why.
No, he would try his best not to do that this time. He had finally made it to the 8th Squad and as lieutenant no less, so he had to get along with his captain and try to be as productive as possible. Helpful too. It didn't go against his nature to be helpful. He just liked being laid back is all. But here, he knew he should be professional.
He looked down and saw paperwork on his captain's desk, not far from her chest. Maybe six centimeters away? Sev- Why was he measuring in his head? He cleared his throat and decided past lieutenants had been helpful with paperwork, so he could give it a shot.
"Hey, it looks like you've got some paperwork there. Maybe I could help you with that?" Good, making progress, an offer of assistance. Friendship was sure to blossom. "For like, a case of Sake?" No no you idiot! "I mean, like a bottle or two." There we go. Babysteps, babysteps.

Ash groaned as she continued to pace back and forth. It was strange. She usually wasn't this bored. It annoyed her back and forth. Finally when she got up the guts to do it she sat down to try and work again.
Which ended in another failure. Thinking in her head for awhile she the heard knocking. Looking up she saw a guy walk in. He was semi-cute. Had hair almost the same color as hers and his eyes are a nice shade of blue. Nothing like her cold silver blue eyes. She sighed. No one was every as creepy as she was. Though when they get to know her they will know she isn't fully creepy. Well. Maybe. But Ash smiled anyway. "Nice to meet you, Masaki. I'm the Captain. My name's Aislinn Karvash. But please don't call me that. Call me Ash." She told him nicely.
When he mentioned the papers on her desk, Ash almost fainted until she realized that he wanted to help. She smiled and thought about it. Would it really be a bad thing for the lieutenant to help her with the Captain's paperwork? The mention of sake worried her though. "Sake?" Ash breathed calmly. Finally she laughed. "That could be doable." Ash smiled.
She moved over to the hammock and sat down on that. Thinking to herself. Then she remembered something she needed to tell the new person in her Squad. "Oh yeah. Masaki, I just have to warn you about how you act around me." She smiled at him. A wicked grin that would usually bring out trouble. It also allowed her to make others wonder what she was truly thinking. "The reason I say this is because I have a tendency to make nicknames for people. Depending on how they act."

"Oh?" Masaki asked, intrigued. Nicknames? Now there was something he hadn't expected. And yet, it seemed like something that would make his working environment more . . . friendly? Second time he thought of that word, and it still didn't seem to be the right one. Relaxed. Yeah, that was he. He needed a relaxed working space.
Then again, maybe he needed to watch how he acted around her. If he acted lazy around her, would he call him lazy or laid back one? If he told a joke, would he be called silly? If he drank, would he be drunky? Drunkard? Bum?
"I don't drink when I work," He added, just to clear that up. He didn't want Ash to think of him as a drunkard who would perform sloppily. "Usually at the end of the day, some days but not most." He looked down at the paper. It looked like simple forms, just tedious. But if he worked hard, maybe he would come to be known as helpful one, or rock 'em sock 'em Nakamura. No. Not that one. But something cool would be nice.
He smiled up at her wicked grin, his hair moving lightly with him like leaves dangling on a branch. He was too laid back to get scared by mere looks. She would have to frighten him. "Aislinn Karvash, AKA Ash. Nice to meet you too."
He grabbed a pen and began working, not taking a seat because A) It was way over the~re. And B) He didn't exactly know if his captain would get angry if he sat in her chair. So far, he couldn't tell if she was that kind of captain. But he was sure he'd find out, soon enough.

Ash laughed a bit when he took into consideration what she had just said. Even clarifying that he didn't drink when he worked made her want to laugh a bit more. Though she didn't know why he was standing. But he obviously didn't mind. So she left it be.
Laying down and actually taking a good look at Masaki, she noticed that he wasn't too terribly tall. Just about an inch or so above her maybe. She would love to find out but decided against it. She didn't know how he would react to her walking up to him and measuring him by standing in a close distance. So she just kept inspecting him. She loved his eyes. Wished she had them in fact. Instead of the cold chilling eyes she had. Though she did notice that he didn't seem to afraid of her appearance. Either he isn't scared or easy to freak out, or he was too lazy to do anything about it. Either way. She's watch him. Though it was kinda scary to see how much his hair was almost like hers. Well. Color wise. His hair was no where near the length of hers.
After awhile she though she shouldn't stare at him any longer. Though she was bored so she decided to strike up a conversation. "Well. I actually have to say. Its nice to have someone else here for a change." She said calmly. Then for some reason she had a feeling she should say something about herself to him. "Oh and um. Feel free to use my chair. I don't really mind." She told him before going on. "Also. I'm a carefree type. That's the reason behind the nicknames. I feel as though if I use them I can get closer to my fellow Shinigami members. Cause I hate having to be all uptight." She told Masaki nicely. Should I be telling him all this? Tilting her head to the side she smiled yet again.
"Oh. And I love to joke about and hang with everyone. To me, there are basically no such things as ranks. Though sometimes I do have to enforce that part." Ash finished calmly. She rolled onto her back in the hammock and looked at the ceiling. But got fed up with that quickly and got up and began to pace around the room. She just couldn't sit still today........

Masaki pushed his palm into the desk and put pressure on it. He quickly pushed himself high up so he was doing a one handed handstand on Ash's desk. He the moved his hand so he was facing the opposite way and gently lowered himself down into the seat. He sighed happily. The chair was comfy. Did he have to go through all the theatrics? No, but he did for two reasons. A) He had style. Or at least, he thought he did. And B) though he had to exert force, Masaki did not have to walk an inch.
"Thanks for that," He chuckled, looking up at Ash as she paced around the room. Her eyes, he noticed, were a very serious and powerful looking blue. Not at all like his soft blue. With eyes like hers, he could command more respect. He had to say he liked his eyes, and hair too. Especially its color. He guessed this meant he liked Ash's hair as well. He decided he did and got right back to paper-working, moving through the sheets as quickly but efficiently as he could. Masaki was weird in that he had moments of hard work in between moments of laziness. It was spread out in a chaotic way, but it seemed to work for him.
"Well, it's nice to be here," He replied. "I'm a care free type too. Or rather, type two. I guess that's a nice way of saying I'm either laid back or lazy." He shrugged. "Whatever floats your boat." He looked up at her when he mentioned ranks and chuckled. "And you can call me whatever you want if it'll make you feel better. To be honest, I just want to not screw up this job."
"And no such thing as ranks?" He asked curiously. "I wish I had known that earlier. Then maybe i wouldn't have worked so hard to become a lieutenant," He joked. "But it's worth it if I get to work with you and in this squad."
"So what's been happening in the Soul Society lately? I haven't heard much since I've been busy practicing and training to become lieutenant."

Watching as Masaki did his little fiasco of not walking around the desk, Ash had to laugh a little. It was nice to know that she'd have someone with a bit of spunk, or whatever its called. Pizazz? No. That's not it. Oh well. She gave up on trying to think of the right word.
Finally she sighed and stopped pacing. Listening to what Masaki had to say about himself. Laughing at the last part of his personality description. "Really now? Even if I call you something god awful?" She teased. Though it kinda occurred to her that she shouldn't be teasing him yet. Not until she got a better feel on him. So she smiled. "Just kidding. I wouldn't really call anyone god awful names. The worst you could probably get is 'Hated' meaning that I hate you and you are the worst in my squad to me." She explained to him. "But don't worry. The way you seem now, you're far from that nickname." Ash said nicely.
She then went and walked around a bit more, listening to the rest of him comments. Shaking her head. Not that she was disagreeing with him, she was yet again bored. Finally she turned back to him. "Ranks are important in the squad but I really want everyone to just have fun and do their best. Oh and not to die or anything. Cause getting along is the best thing we can do. Or at least that's what it is in my book." Walking around she noticed something sticking out of her bookshelf.
A photo. A winter scene. A image flashed in Ash's mind. She didn't like it. She took the photo and tore it up. Watching the paper peices fall to the floor. Finally she turned and looked at Masaki again. "Um. I'm not too sure about that. I've been here most of the time. Not much for me to do. Which is why I've been bored most of the time. At least, that's what I think. I seem to not get the butterflies." She explained to Masaki. "I think they don't like me or something" And suddenly Ash felt down on the inside. She breathed out a deep sigh. She sometimes hated how she looked.

"Well, I certainly wouldn't want to be called hated. But if that's the worst I could possibly get, then meh." He couldn't help but laugh a little on the inside. It seeded that Ash was going to be a lot of fun as a captain. Not that he could be entirely sure of that just yet, but things seemed to be going that way.
He nodded. "I'll do my very best to not die. In fact, I specialize in not dying. I haven't died once yet!" He declared as he fnished another sheet of paper. "Oh, wait a minute." He slapped his hand to his forehead. "Right, I have died once. We all have. I just re-realized that. And here I am doing your paperwork. You must feel so secure having someone like me handle something like this," He teased, trying to make Ash laugh. So far, he found that he liked her laugh. A lot, actually. And now she was starting to feel bad for reasons unknown.
Of course it had to do with the picture, but he wouldn't ask. Masaki learned long ago to respect people's privacy. If he and Ash became friends somewhere down the road and she told him, then great. Until then, he'd have to just be curious.
"Don't like you? Pish Posh, who needs butterflies?" He asked. "As a matter of fact, I like you right now. And if no one wants to butterfly us, then I say let's go unbutterflied and be happy about it."
He stood up and did a one handed handstand and flipped back to the other side of the desk, the paperwork mostly done. Well, more than half anyway. he could finish it later. He landed lightly on his feet. "My name is Masaki Nakamura, and I'm here to brighten your day." He gave a light bow and looked up, smiling. "So how about it, Cap'n? What can this little red weasel do for you?"

Ash couldn't help but smile. "Yep. Hated wouldn't be a good thing. I hope I don't have to call anyone that." She told him. Finally beginning to relax she looked at the paper work that he was doing. Mostly done. She liked that.
At his dying comment though she had to laugh. It was very funny. "Yeah. That's true. We have to die to be here." She agreed. But then cut herself short. "Well. Not everyone. Some people are born here. Meaning they haven't died once. There's always that." She pointed out.
Though she liked the fact that he didn't pry about the picture, it also made her feel more bad about it. Then again. Sometimes its good to keep things from others. Especially if its bad or something. But the comments about the butterflies made her eyebrows rise up. "Yeah. That'd be nice and all. But the Hell Butterflies are how we communicate with everyone else." Ash felt she had to point out. "So how are we gonna deal without them?" She had to ask him. Though she didn't really care much about that.
Watching yet again as he did another handstand over her desk, he did a bow at the end and she had to smile. "Little Red Weasel?" She murmured. She then laughed. "That's cute. Is there a reason you call yourself that?"

Masaki stod up straight and put his hands behind his head. "Well, I usually go without the 'little' part. Granted I'm not that tall, sure, but still. I'm the red weasel because well, my hair's red." He looked up at his hair curiously as one strand dangled above. "And the weasel part has to do with my zanpakuto. Hence, red weasel."
"Is there anything you're called, Ash?" He asked curiously. "Like, I don't know, Volcanic Ash? Or some other, less corny nickname? I didn't know anyone could be born here, by the way. You learn something new every day."
He walked back to the desk and sat down, working on finishing the last bit of paperwork. "And I'm sure as soon as there's some kind of danger, we'll be called on." He sighed as he finished the last bit. "You know, we could always make our own excitement," He said, letting the pen drop. "How do you feel about-"
He realized something. "Wait a sec, isn't there a captain's meeting going on right now? I don't know for sure but that's what it sounded like on my way here." He smiled. "You should go. I'll handle any paperwork that comes in. Promise."

Ash laughed about that. She couldn't help it. "Okay. I might call you that. But I don't know." She said nicely. "Though its nice that you added your Zanpakuto into your nickname"
She sighed and thought about that. What would people call her? She really didn't know. I mean, she rarely likes to fight. So not many people know about her Zanpakuto. Finally she shrugged. "No idea. But I do know one thing. I would never be called Volcanic Ash. Goes against my Zanpakuto." She laughed.
She smiled and watched as Masaki went to do work. Though when he mentioned the meeting she immediately went still. Her mind reeling. Does she have a meeting to be at? She truly didn't know. "Damn those butterflies....." She murmured. Finally she remembered. "Crap. I have to go." She told him. She then rushed out of her office without a goodbye. She was late. She obviously didn't have time to say that.

Masaki sighed as as Ash left. He was glad she was going to the meeting to take care of captain business and all of that, but he was just plain bored now. The paperwork was done, so he really didn't have any business sitting in her chair. He stoop up and stretched. Now what?
"I guess there's really nothing left to do in this office. What now?" He sat down on the hammock and tried to think about what to do. "Well . . . I could always practice my kido."
He nodded, then stood up and left the office for the training grounds.
