Xue stepped softly, carefully onto the moss next to the water's edge, still eyeing the small pile of bones heaped on the other side of the creek. It seemed like some sort of shrine, and he was curious as to what exactly it was doing in the middle of an open space like this. "Perfectly placed...." He said in his soft, yet ice-laced voice, tilting his head just slightly as he looked it over. "It was put here with reason.... But what-" The wolf was caught off-guard as he stepped to close to the bank, slipping and crashing chest-first into the water, just barely missing the rocks at the bottom. "Slight miscalculation," he offered up with a frown, blinking and looking all around him as though he had lost something. "I don't get it..... Why?"
That was the only question he ever asked, why this and why that, but no one was ever around to answer. So he just kept wondering on and on about the significance of everything he saw. He was so curious, and yet he still knew nothing about the world around him; his findings meant nothing unless he could explain them. The poor wolf just needed a friend to tell him what he wanted to know, but for some reason, that was the hardest thing for him to find.
