My little brother raised money for cancer through St. Baldricks once, and his friend had very long hair and raised money as well as donated his hair.
I have donated hair for wigs through Locks of Love three times.
You are amazing, though- I don't have the courage to shave my head just yet. I plan on doing St. Baldricks my senior year of high school, so I can donate a good deal of hair as well.

Good for you! And you are very pretty, either way, and more important you are beautiful inside.

That is amazing. I'm not brave enough to shave my head.
Last month I donated most of my hair to Locks of Love, I plan on doing it again next summer so I have alot (it grows fast if I keep the split ends away). The lady who cut my hair said it was 11 inches, and she only cut it to my shoulders. I hope to grow it even longer than that by next year.

My mother always told me love was a bullshit emotion that only fools and dreamers believed in... When I was 13 and my sister was 4, her and I donated our hair to make wigs for cancer patients. From what I know, because we were sisters they tried to keep the hair together to try and find a couple of girls around our ages who had cancer. I don't really know what happened, but we caught a lot of attention in our town so it raised awareness a bit and after that, there was a lot of girls donating their locks for the cause. Just recently I got 24 inches cut off, enough to donate it twice. My sister is going to be able to donate it three times by the time she gets hers cut again.
I'm not brave enough to shave my head, though. You're amazing. ...so she told me to be the fool with a dream...
