As soon as Viviana felt Connor's weight shift her body reacted immediately. The woman litereally slithered away from him, Just as a snake would, zig-zaging backward to a distance of about 10 feet.
There was no scrambling for Viviana, she didn't even have to use her hands to push herself up off the ground. She simply arched her back and used her most natrual process of movement, undulatory locomotion, to lift herself onto her feet once more.
Her left hand of course, did go straight for one of the daggers on her left hip. However her right hand did something completely different. It's fingers closed around the hilt of her belt and in one fluid motion she tugged it free and sent it whipping out towards Connor's feet.
"Trip 'im up, see 'ow the back of 'is 'ead likes the taste of marble." She said with a bit of a chuckle. It was quite the image, the silver haired woman laughing mirthlessly while blood still dripped from her nose to the marble floor with an almost rhythmic pit, pat.
However Connor would soon realize exactly who Viviana had been talking to. The belt she had flung towards him was no ordinary belt...Quote: Serpent d'acier (Steel serpent); At first glance this weapon appears little more than a very intricate silver belt with a cobra’s head as its buckle. The fact of the matter is, this is a quite a powerful magical item. It is a sentient spiked chain which Viviana can either wield, or command to attack of its own accord. It cannot communicate on its own and does not have any empathetic traits. Until Viviana removes the belt and speak the command words, the item is dormant and the spikes which traverse the length of the chain are absent. However once the item is “awakened” it uncoils to its full length (10 ft) and its spikes protrude. The weapon has been imbued with some of Viviana’s life essence which gives it access to her Swift Strike and Constrict abilities. She can command it to attack on its own using either of these abilities.
Serpent d'acier did just as it was told, and attempted to coil it's spiked length about her opponents feet and trip him.

Connor tensed reflexively and tracked the belt, waiting...waiting...waiting for it to land with a light cloud of dust at his feet. "Huh. Okay. That was an--!!"
What!?
In a flurry of movement that had Connor dancing backwards and slashing wildly with the sabre, the belt came to life. His adrenaline spiked at the surprise and for a few moments he dashed about, stomping comically and recoiling as he played an undignified game of cat and mouse with the belt.
He was losing.
I ******** hate ******** magic! Hate it! The parasite stirred awake, fighting his efforts to suppress it. It sensed the magic in the belt, aroused from it's slumber though Conor was unaware of this fact. It's sissing laughter, uncomfortably similar to a snake's, echoed in the back of his mind.
You're not helping things. Shut up! It ignored him.
To Viviana he yelled, glancing up for a split second: "The hell are you wearing a snake for--Augh!!" that second cost him and he stumbled. The animated belt had wrapped itself around his left ankle, the spikes scratching his skin and drawing blood. Red stained the pant leg. With a grunted cry of frustration Connor hurled the sabre at Viviana. It was a surprisingly accurate throw even if it was hurtling hilt first at her center of mass.
He bent slightly, clawing at the belt with his hands and ignoring the spikes as he sought to uncoil the belt from his leg. If he could just...get this loose!

"It's a nice accessory."
Was the only response Viviana bothered with. He might not have been flat on the floor, but he was still exactly where the Lamia wanted him.

Crash Viviana deflected the oncoming sabre with her dagger, not even bothering to change trajectory for a minute. For the audience, it was as if she had covered that 10 feet in the blink of an eye. And while Connor was fumbling with the steel serpent about his ankles. Viviana lunged in, fangs bared.Quote: Kiss of the Lamia; Being a serpent, Viviana secretes a venom through her fangs. If her bite attack lands on any other part of the body the opponent must roll a d6, the roll indicates how many posts it will take for the paralysis to take effect.
Obviously, she was aiming her bite attack for his jugular. She was a natural predator after all, and the jugular is the best place to bite when you intend to turn something into a snack! But anything goes, her fangs were looking for flesh, and they wouldn't complain which body part provided.

"Metal b*****d, come...loose!" With a burst of strength he straightened, stumbling backwards. The snake writhed in his right hand before it coiled and wrapped itself around the limb. But at least it wasn't his leg.
And then he saw Viviana Merquise, far too late.
He twisted, just enough that Viviana sank her fangs into his shoulder. Even as she bit down Connor stepped back, whipping his right hand around into the side of her head. Then the venom took effect and the world spun. Euphoria flooded his senses and he found himself thinking, Hey, this is kinda nice... before that unbearable cold seeped through and combating the pleasure.
Enjoying yourself, aren't you? Cold clarity brought his mind to the present and a scathing response to the parasite: <******** you." All he got was ringing laughter and a sharp pain in his head. A memory flashed through his head, KB at the ball, the vampire attacking him, going for his throat...
"NO!"
The mental barrier snapped, the parasite raced through his system. Black seeped into his veins and Viviana would get a rather nasty shock. Blood was blood but with the warp-touched parasite's influence spreading through Connor's body, what she was suckin' down would taste not rotten but powerfully bitter and repulsive. He'd continue to punch her in the head until she let go.
"Get, off!" He growled through the pain/pleasure of her bite.
All this happened quickly, within the span of a few seconds. To Viviana, Connor would have begun standing up, the belt coming free from his leg and wrapping around his hand and then she was on him, biting down and hitting his shoulder. He wouldn't go down but staggered, punching at her head.
He wouldn't go down easy.

Viviana had feasted on the blood of hundreds of different creatures in her time. Connor's had the acrid taste of a shapeshifter mixed with something far more frightening. Her fangs retracted as he punched at her head. What was with this wrench monkey and his fascination with her face? The first blow connected, forcing her knees to bend to keep the blow from knocking her off her feet.
As soon as his hand retracted to strike again, Viviana sprang back up, quick as lightning. She spat, a nice, fat, globule of sickly looking blood straight at Connor's face. But that was just aesthetics. Her left hand had been chambered at her left side since she had drawn her dagger. She now took the opportunity to strike out with it. Punching her dagger straight towards Connor's right kidney.
"Encercler" She hissed.
Connor would feel a nasty tighetning about his right hand.

She was sure, by now, her hair was staining crimson. She must look quite the sight. Blood smeared all over her face. Luckily there wasn't a mirror around for her to glance into and frown.
