This is for my new character, Elv Daniels.


1. How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
I can describe myself in a few words: cool, calm and collected. Actually, that's not entirely true, but at least I try.

2. What's your favorite food?
I like any food. I'm remarkably easy to please. We didn't have much growing up so I make the most of everything I get. Pancakes are probably my absolute favourite though. Blueberry pancakes.

3. What do you do when you're bored?
Sometimes I like to practice my magic, my casting. I'm getting better at hiding hand gestures, but it's still exhausting. Other than that, what girl doesn't like curling up on the sofa in front of an old movie with a tub of ice cream?

4. What's your favorite color?
Red. It's bold and fiery and very hard to hide.

5. What do you want to do in the future?
What I'm doing right now. I own a book shop with a built in cafe - I want to get back home to that little place.

6. Do you believe in unicorns?
Don't be stupid. Everybody knows they're just fiction, not like the rest of the supernatural world.

7. What is your deepest, darkest secret?
When I was twelve, my father died. The secret is, it was probably my fault. He commited suicide after walking in on me practicing a new leviation spell on two dolls. He probably died hating me.

8. Who was your first kiss? What was it like?
He was a boy in school when I was about seven. His name was Brady Jones. I only remember being repulsed.

9. Who was your least favorite teacher in elementary school?
I don't remember. I try not to think about it; school wasn't exactly enjoyable.

10. What is your favorite kind of music?
Anything that I can listen to without being distracted.

11. Do you have any pets?
I have a cat at home, called Betz. She's about as much social contact as I usually get.

12. Do you believe in a power greater than yourself?
Yes. My mother. She's terrifying, even without the supernatural abilities that I have.

13. What would be your ideal vacation?
A small apartment in London, books, a roaring fire and coffee shops galore. I like to write.

14. Truth or dare?
Dare, every time. If you choose truth, you always lose a piece of yourself.

15. How do you value your self-worth: body weight, willpower, etc.?
The ability to understand people. If I couldn't empathise with people, I'd probably be dead by now. That and my undoubted fault: I find it incredibly difficult to lie.

16. Do you know how to cook?
I can bake, but cooking isn't my strong point.

17. Have you ever been in a life threatening situation?
Plenty of times, though it's never been quite as dangerous as right now. The west is a dangerous place, and the people make no sense.

18. Can you trust the people around you?
Jem certainly seems trustworthy, but right now I don't have the time to make sure. The others I'm not sure about.

19. What is a pet peeve of yours?
People talking with food in their mouths. Nothing annoys me more.

20. How would you describe your significant other?
I don't have one. I'm remarkably hard to get along with.

21. What's your occupation?
I own my own shop.

22. If you could have any one thing in the world, what would it be?(Wealth, power, love, etc.)
I'd say money, but that's not true. I'm more sentimental than I like to admit.

23. Why are you in the occupation you're in?
I needed to prove to myself that I was self-sufficient; I ended up leaving home for good and not looking back.

24. What do you look for in a man/woman?
Common sense, intelligence, a good figure. I'm human, too, you know.

25. Are you a lover or a fighter?
I much prefer non-violence, but lately that's becoming less and less possible.

26. What's the kind of person you prefer to associate with?
The book-smart, quiet kind. They're less invasive.

27. How often do you swear?
Not very. I don't see the point in it.

28. Have you ever cheated at something?
I cheated on a maths test once, when I was ten. I felt so guilty for days afterwards I didn't do it again. In this town, though, I feel like that might be a disadvantage...

29. What is able to calm you down?
A long bath and a good book. Unless I'm feeling really pissed off, and then you'd better hope you don't get on the wrong end of my fists (at least, you'd better hope I don't cast a spell quick enough to hit you).

30. Do you like bugs?
Eh, I'm non-plussed.

31. What super powers would you like to have?
Like to have? None. I grew up as a witch, hiding everything from my mother so she wouldn't find out like my dad did. If I could choose, I'd like to be normal just live everybody else.

I don't know any. I'm really a very serious person.

33. If there were no repercussions, who would you like to walk right up to and poke in the eye?
Not unless they'd done something to deserve it. I might hurt my finger.

If they were oatmeal, it was probably me.

I'd be mildly peeved to say the least.

Books? No, it's not a proper collection, I just have a lot of them.

37. What's one thing you would redo in your life?
Letting my father see me casting. He'd probably still be alive if not for that.

Freedom. If I have freedom, the riches come later.

39. Marry a poor person you love, or a rich person you dislike?
I'd rather marry neither. Marriage means losing a part of your identity, a part of yourself. I'll settle for just sharing a house, thank you.

40. What was your favorite childhood summer camp?
I never went to camp because my mother couldn't afford to send me.

41. Who is your best friend?
I don't have many friends, I never did. The closest I get to a 'friend' is probably Betz, my cat. Or Rodger, the guy who lives across the road above the museum. I suppose Jem also qualifies, since I'm using neighbours and people I don't know very well...

42. What is your dream career.
A professional Book Reader. No, really.

43. Who were you raised by?
My mother raised my by herself when my father died. She never remarried.

44. What traumatic thing happened to you in childhood?
I suppose the death of my dad counts, but I don't think it affected me so badly. It's not like I'm a poor little orphan or anything.

45. What does you name mean? Why did you parents choose it?
My name is Elv, short for Evelyn. I don't know what Evelyn means, I never bothered to check. I suppose it just isn't very important.

1. How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
I'd consider myself to be quite patient, a bit dreamy and not very confident. My mum used to call me naive, too. She was probably right... I'm also incredibly romantic and have a crazy imagination.

2. What's your favorite food?
I like almost anything, really. What I really love is junk food - and I used to love my mum's cooking, but it's not so great really.

3. What do you do when you're bored?
Explore. I like going outside, walking and finding cool little places that nobody else seems to notice. I always imagine that there are other worlds at the back of caves, and I've always wanted to find one.

4. What's your favorite color?
Purple. Or green. My mum used to call me her little Amethyst. I'm not sure why, but it's probably got something to do with the time I tried to paint all of my stuffed toys purple.

5. What do you want to do in the future?
To tell you the truth, I've not really thought about it. I barely finished school, and I've never had a job in my life. I'd like to write, but I know that's a fool's dream.

6. Do you believe in unicorns?
I'd like to. If they existed, they'd live in the back of one of my caves, along with dwarves and trolls and fairies.

7. What is your deepest, darkest secret?
Mum thought I ran away because of Jason, because she wouldn't let me see him. Jason thought so too. I ran away because I couldn't stand being such a failure any more, and Jason was just an excuse - and a poor one at that. I wish I'd never left.

8. Who was your first kiss? What was it like?
His name was Michael, and we were fifteen. It was horrible, because he was my best friend and we were just messing around. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

9. Who was your least favorite teacher in elementary school?
I dunno. I never really liked any of the teachers, to be honest. I was never very good in school and they were always on my case about handing in overdue work or the state of my uniform. I hated Mr. Cheltham the worst, though. He used to teach Media, and he dogged me for days after finding out that my dad had left us. He wanted me to express it in a "healthy" manner. I told him where to shove it. He put me in isolation.

10. What is your favorite kind of music?
I like a lot of stuff. Indie, mostly. Industrial. I don't really care.

11. Do you have any pets?
Nope. Mum said we couldn't afford to keep a dog, and the neighbourhood cats wouldn't come near me. I never could figure out why.

12. Do you believe in a power greater than yourself?
No. Otherwise, why do such horrible things happen?

13. What would be your ideal vacation?
Somewhere warm and far, far away. Also, something free.

Dare. I never could stand being asked personal questions.

15. How do you value your self-worth: body weight, willpower, etc.?
I'm useless at most things, but I think I'm pretty handy around the house. At least, Jason never used to complain. I'm not particularly accomplished, but I'm not stupid. I'm not ugly either, so I guess that's a start.

I know how to grill meat and eat it, if that's what you're asking. I can't do any of that fancy stuff, but I get by okay. I learnt a lot from my mum.

17. Have you ever been in a life threatening situation?
I'd rather not talk about that.

18. Can you trust the people around you?
I used to think so, but I've been wrong before.

19. What is a pet peeve of yours?
People who make assumptions before talking to you. I can't stand a person who pretends to know you better than you know yourself.

20. How would you describe your significant other?
I don't have one. But my ex? Psychotic, and quite possibly mentally retarded.

21. What's your occupation?
I already said that I don't have one. Rub it in, why don't you?

22. If you could have any one thing in the world, what would it be?(Wealth, power, love, etc.)
Call me old-fashioned, but I think I'd like to be happy. That would be nice.

24. What do you look for in a man/woman?
Why do we have to keep talking about this? I dunno. I guess I'd like a guy who wouldn't try to kill me before asking me if there's a problem.

I'm not very strong, but when it comes down to it I guess I can probably hold my own. Like most people, though, I'd rather not resort to violence.

26. What's the kind of person you prefer to associate with?
Clever people are always nice to spend time with. I don't have many friends any more, so I'd like to think I'm not all that picky.

27. How often do you swear?
Not very often. I might not come across as being all cool and refined, but I didn't grow up in the gutter. I'm not perfect, but I try to keep calm if I can.

28. Have you ever cheated at something?
Probably when I was younger. But like I said, I'm not stupid. I just don't understand why education has to mean so much. After Dad left, things stopped mattering so much. It felt sort of like I was... I dunno, just missing the bigger picture I guess.

29. What is able to calm you down?
Usually I can keep myself calm, but failing that a cup of tea and a quiet room with books usually helps.

30. Do you like bugs?
They don't bother me much, as long as they're not all in my face.

31. What super powers would you like to have?
I'd love to be able to fly. Or maybe I'd like to have super intelligence, then it wouldn't matter if I hadn't gotten a university degree.

I'm not a very funny person. I always mess up the punch line.

My dad.

We never had cookies at home, but I'd probably haven taken them if we had.

It depends if I know the person. I guess it can be funny. I'm not sure though, since nobody ever tried to prank call me before.

Do bruises count? No, I'm sorry, that's not funny. I never really collected anything.

I'd had left Jason before it got this far.

Freedom's all very well, but what can you do with that? Riches please.

Love. I've already been stuck in one bad relationship - and nothing is worth that. Screw what I said to that last question.

I never went. We don't have camp in England unless you're a guide or a scout. I never was.

Michael was my best friend for a long time, and then Beth. But Beth screwed me over when I left with Jason. Now I don't really have any friends.

I'd like to be a writer.

43. Who were you raised by?
Mostly my mum and Grandma. My dad left when I was 12, so I suppose he counts too - but I've not seen him since then and I don't think he counts.

44. What traumatic thing happened to you in childhood?
Dad left. That was pretty big. Otherwise my childhood was very normal.

45. What does you name mean? Why did you parents choose it?
I'm not sure what it means. It's Greek, though, that much I know. Dad's mum was Greek. I think it's "beautiful" or something. But who cares anyway?

46. Do you consider yourself a people-person?
Not really. But I could be if I met the right people.

Half-empty. As much as I hate to admit it. Life inside my head is always better than it is outside.

1. How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
I’m pretty smart, I guess. I try to be optimistic, to the point of annoying people around me a little. I can be a little too energetic, and some people tell me I’m naïve.

2. What's your favorite food?
Cucumbers and watermelons, not necessarily together.

3. What do you do when you're bored?
I’m usually too busy to be bored. When I’m not working on engines or machines, I’m reading up on all kinds of different subjects.

4. What's your favorite color?
Rust red. It reminds me of cleaning up old machines and autumn leaves.

5. What do you want to do in the future?
I can’t see myself being anything but a mechanic.

Ahahaha, what?

I’m related to some really influential people who don’t actually know where I am right now.

Uh…my god brother. In retrospect that seems a little awkward.

An auto mechanic received a repair order that read: “Check for clunking sound when going around corners.” Taking the car out for a test drive, he made a right turn, and a moment later he heard a ‘clunk’. He then made a left turn and again heard a ‘clunk’. Back at the shop he opened the car’s trunk, and soon discovered the problem. Promptly he returned the repair order to the service manager with the notation, “Removed bowling ball from trunk”.

45. What does you name mean? Why did you parents choose it?
My full name is Daniel Elijah Gabriel Murdock-Quin. Daniel means “God is my Judge.” Elijah means “The Lord is my God” Gabriel means “God is my Strength” Murdock means “sea” and Quin means “Descendant of Conn”, Conn meaning wisdom. Murdock is my Dad’s surname and is Scottish, while Quin is my mother’s and is Irish. My mother was catholic so that’s why all my names have to do with God.

Yes, I love people.

If it’s just for a day, then a bird of some kind, like a hawk.

Killing innocent people is just about the only thing.

1. How would you describe yourself in a few sentences?
Hmm...I'm disciplined. I err don't consider myself social. People generally annoy me, though there are some I find admirable. I'm really connected to my land Chishiro which is a land in the mountains covered in snow.

2. What's your favorite food?
Raw fish and green tea with a rice ball.

3. What do you do when you're bored?
I don't have time to be bored usually, but err I guess I practice my combat skills.

I think it's called russet. It's a rusty red.

5. What do you want to do in the future?
Live peacefully with my family and friends. It's a lofty goal.

What are they?

7. What is your deepest, darkest secret?
I have too many, most to which I'm under orders to never mention. Personally, though, I would say that I have always been angry with Samayo, my wife, for giving up and succumbing to the pressure her people put her under.

It was Samayo, or Sam, as I call her. And it was everything I had thought it would be. It was in winter and our lips shared warmth. Actually, come to think of it, it was better than I expected.

If you mean the preparatory school then i would say Master Vlein. He hated me because I was an outsider of the village. My father didn't help either. My father would call him fat to his face. Thanks dad.

I play the flute, but it's not as beautiful as Sam playing the Guzheng. I can't stand Taski, one of my students, guitar playing.

My horse Yanell. But I'm more of her pet.

The gods, err if that's what you mean. But there are more powerful people i suppose.

13. What would be your ideal vacation?
Sam's country Krosoata. Besides Chishiro, it's the most beautiful place I have ever been.

My skills as a warrior. My people are nearly extinct so to be the best warrior among them is an honor. It proves to the nation my clan's potential.

Only for myself. My students hate my cooking.

Heh, practically every day it seems.

I trust my wife, daughter, and students. I can trust Aso, my friend from childhood. I don't trust this Hono kid who's been shadowing my daughter...and I think I can trust my old master Jence. But he's been rather antagonistic lately.

I hate farts. Excuse yourself from the group if you need to let it out. And don't fart on my horse.

20. How would you describe your significant other?
She's intelligent, gentle, beautiful, witty, and a deadly warrior. She use to be reckless, but motherhood made her wise. However, for as long as I've known Sam she's carried a sadness with her. I've never figured out where it came from. Even her smiles carry that sadness.

Warrior. Assassin, Master (teacher).

22. If you could have any one thing in the world, what would it be?
A home.

23. Why are you in the occupation you're in?
I was raised into it. For me and my father our bloodline gave us no other choice.

Someone able to see pass what's presented by another person's actions. Really, only Sam has ever done this for me. She's the only one I look for.

Errr I fight...I love...err both? I fight for love! Heh heh cliche.

Err people who don't talk about nonsense. But even then all Ame`kara, one of my students, ever talks about is nonsense and she's one of my favorite people...so I'm not sure. Depends if I get to know them or not. Usually, though, I'm forced to get to know people.

Often I suppose.

28. Have you ever cheated at something?
Many rival clans say that by using both the Katana and the Ninjato I am cheating in battle. But morally I see nothing wrong with wielding both swords. So, no. I don't cheat.

Playing my flute alone.

They're useful. Some kill pest bugs. Some are good for eating. Sure, I like them.

Super speed.

Sam has always been my greatest friend. Yanell, my horse, after her. My students too I suppose. And Aso. Aso is the only guy friend I had growing up. He's also the only one I feel good about drinking a beer with.

Don't laugh, but a farmer.

My father mostly. After he died Master Jence took me in and raised me as one of his sons.

44. What traumatic thing happened to you in childhood?
I think I have rather a few, but the one that haunts me the most is seeing my mother bleed in the snow. When my family lived in Chishiro snow covered everything. My mother was sick and my only memory of her is when she bled herself to make her feel better. I was only three, but when she did it she had such a sense of calm to the pain. I still don't understand it.

45. What does you name mean? Why did you parents choose it?
My name means Snow Form which is the style of fighting my clan uses.

46. Do you consider yourself a people-person?
No. I hate social gatherings and I hate crowds.

I drank the glass.

48. If you could become any animal for a day, which would you choose?
A horse. They're social animals and yet independent. I find that intriguing.

I like to put my hair in a pony tail.

If it came between saving Sam or saving my country I would save my country. She of all people would understand, but I don't think I could ever be among my people after that. I would probably go to Chishiro and die alone.

My father. He was the greatest warrior I had ever known. He and I were opposites which often made for a good time.

Naturally.

54. Did anything happen to you that made you into who you are now?
I think being an outsider in my village, loving Sam, being a warrior, teacher, and father has shaped me tremendously.

55. Are you happy with your life?
No, actually. I am glad for the ones I love, but danger is too quick and we are always on the run it seems. There is no peace in a land filled with rage.

All the time.

Sam and my daughter Yugure.

Yes, but they soon learned to not mess with me.
