┗━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Without a sound we lose sight of the groundNaoki tried to, oh how much he tried not to ease drop on the other man's conversation, going so far as to avert his gaze to avoid being nosey. But still, somehow, his ear picked up what Seun was saying. And, honestly, it was hard not to. Makoto and Ji, two names. He felt like a creeper as he looked between the lines of what little bits of the conversation he'd picked up. Ji seemed like a child of some sort, unless he was the type to tell his significant other to lock the door and such, it sounded like the type of thing a parent would say. He hoped he was right on this point. But the next, he didn't want to be so sure about.
He bit at his bottom lip as he wondered if Makoto was his.... boyfriend? Why he found himself jumping to such outlandish conclusions he didn't even spend a logical moment to ponder as he let some rather embarrassing words escape his lips before he could think it over. "So..... is Makoto your boyfriend or something?" He leaned back a little, trying to act casual about what he'd just said as he took a leisurely sip of his coffee. But, in his mind, he was trying to choke his idiotic mind and smacking his conscience for not proof reading his words.
Unlike at work, there was no such thing as pressing ctrl-z on the keyboard or erasing. It felt as if someone was holding a fire up close to his cheeked as they burned in embarrassment. What if the man he seated himself beside didn't even swing that way? Oh, well done Naoki, you just dug yourself a humongous hole, now how do you plan on getting yourself out of this one? He asked himself, not an answer surfaced as he felt like hiding his face in the arm of the couch and just dieing. There was no way he could just pretend like it was the drunk in him speaking, and as he continued to think about it, he was growing less and less laid-back and becoming more and more tense and afraid of the outcome. He sweared very little, but this was one moment where he found himself stringing profanities together like there was no tomorrow.I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves (( >.< I know, it's annoying me, too!))

[ s e u n k i m ] Seun stopped his coffee cup halfway to his mouth, blinking his eyes in slight confusion at Naoki's question. Him? Makoto? Ha! He had to fight not to break into laughter, but a small chuckle managed to make its way past his lips. "Huh? Oooh no, no, Makoto's just my psychotic boss." Seun grinned, closing the gap between him and his coffee quickly. He hoped he didn't dismiss that too fast or too slow- either way could've made it seem like he was lying or covering up something. And he really wouldn't want to blow any chance he might have had with this attractive stranger...
"Ah jeez, I've been single for years..." He mused to himself as he leaned back in his seat with a small, slightly nostalgic(ish). Seun was mostly talking to himself; just affirming his general lack of romanticism in his life. Ever since his wife left him, he'd been scared to try and go out and actually meet someone he liked. So he was rather inexperienced with all that kinda stuff...Flirting, other stuff like that...

┗━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Without a sound we lose sight of the ground"Oh? Hahaha, I see!" Naoki replied with a casual snicker, smiling in an almost relieved manner. He did his best to laugh off the awkward question as well with a soft smile pulling at the corners of his peachy lips. But then again, that gave him no hint as to whether or not he was straight, which bothered him a little. It didn't matter, though, he'd wouldn't mind taking the chance. Really, what did he have to lose? I don't think I have anything... He mused in reply to the question before bringing his cup of coffee back up to his lips.
A raised eyebrow was all he would let surface on his face at Seun's words. Single for years? Why, if he hadn't controlled his emotions expertly, he would have definitely sputtered the coffee he'd just drunk all over the place. Such a handsome man without a date for years? Was it possible? Maybe there was something behind this fact, because he really didn't understand how that could work. Why, if he was given the proper chance, he would have moved in for the kill as quickly as possible. I sound like a monster....
He curiously glanced back at the other man, setting his coffee down on his leg calmly as he leaned forward in interest. "So.... why is that?" He spoke in one of those slightly awkward yet inquisitive manners, itching to know yet curious if he were stepping on Seun's toes with the question. He didn't want to seem meddlesome.I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves (( owob It fixed....))

[ s e u n k i m ] Seun glanced over at the other man, cocking his head slightly at the question. Why? Huh...He never really thought about it before. Well, you know what they say...Having a kid screws up your romantic life. But Seun never really had a romantic life before. He was forced to merge families old school Korean style(Arranged marriage) with a woman who really liked him but he had no interest in. Due to family obligations, they were pretty much forced to have a kid practically as soon as they got married. Then things started spiralling downward from there. So, his kid was part of it- he sent alot of time taking care of Ji. Not that he was complaining! He loved his son with every ounce of his being. It just...being a single father didn't give you much time to go out and meet others outside of work.
"Uh, well..." He didn't want to just blatantly yell "I have a child!" and expect the matter to be settled. Subtlety was good, but definitely wasn't his specialty. "I don't really go out much, except to come here. And really, what's the probability of meeting a great guy at a coffee shop?" He asked, slightly rhetorically, taking a drink of his coffee casually before he realized what he said. It actually sounded like some kind of stupid attempt at flirting. ********! He always said stupid stuff at the worst times. What he pretty much said(in his mind) was "Hey, I'm gay and lonely. What's up?". Probably totally freaked Naoki out...Seun's eye twitched in annoyance as he set his coffee down.

┗━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Without a sound we lose sight of the groundA soft, gentle smile pulled at the corners of his lips as he leaned his head on his palm, side-glancing at the other man as he spoke. What were the odds, hmm? He really couldn't find a proper answer for himself as he nodded pensively, biting his bottom lip at those words. He didn't want to get all destiny and fate on the male, no, he didn't quite believe in such a thing anyhow. He strictly believed in making things happen, not waiting for some unseen being to give it to you. After all, he made the choice of walking up to Seun and introducing himself. Therefore, it wasn't chance. Ugh, stop thinking so much, idiot, you're talking to someone, his conscience scolded him as he blinked his eyes rapidly before straightening for a moment, gaze returning to the seemingly more reserved individual.
"I can't really answer that," Naoki's voice was low, a little on the awkward side as he quickly cracked a halfhearted grin, it looked almost forced though he tried his best to cover that up. "It'd be really obnoxious of me to--- w-wait," he quickly stopped himself as he realized what he was about to say as he quickly handwaved that sentence. "What I meant was.... nevermind. Geez, I don't think I've been so nervous in my life." He admitted, more to himself than the male sitting beside him, fidgeting with his cup of coffee before quickly bringing it up to his face. How could he be so flustered by being in the presence of just one person? He felt pathetic when he thought about it. But, really, it could have been much worse.
Half of the time, he didn't even understand himself. Which was, to be honest, a sad thought. Hoping the other man didn't take his words the wrong way, he found himself quickly apologizing for it. "I-I'm sorry, am I weirding you out?" It seemed old habits died hard, he could remember so clearly all the times he apologized to his parents, even when it wasn't his fault. His friends often scolded him for saying sorry so much, but it was hard not to. For some reason, it just made him feel better.I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves
