Nero and Mileena walked into the restaurant, which was surprisingly busy for the hour that hey had arrived at. They looked around for a good spot, before being led to an outdoor table, in a patio like area. They sat down, for a moment, saying nothing, looking at eachother. The moon was out, there was a comfortable buzzing of activity, it was nice. Nero grinned, staring into Mileena's eyes, with a smirk on his face. "I wonder how she really feels...if there were ever a good night to find out, this would be it." He thought to himself, looking down, then back up. Thanks to the link between the two of them, Mileena probably heard all of that, as well as what he was thinking next. He decided to use the dare he had won in their little contest. "Mileena...here goes your dare." He began, sighing. "I dare you...to kiss me." He told her, not wanting to drag things out. The place was packed, and it would be a while before they got their food, so he figured what better time than now? He sat there and waited for Mileena's response, prepared for anything, after all it would be either a very easy dare, or a hard one, depending on how she felt.

Mileena Mayu
~ Genin ~ Mayu Bloodline ~ Kirigakure ~

Mileena had a feeling, much like the butterfly feeling she got at the graveyard, but this time it was somewhat different. She didn't feel that something bad was going to happen, just that something was coming that would catch her completely off guard. She looked into Nero's eyes as he looked into hers, and they held their gaze for some time without looking away. Nero's thoughts startled her slightly, as she wasn't expecting to hear that, or was she? She was unsure herself, but she kept her features passive. When he brought up the dare Mileena wanted to smile. She had hoped he had forgotten all about it after all this time, but apparently, no such luck. She started to smile and was about to speak when she was cut off by his voice coming in before hers. It sounded strained, as if he was finding it hard to speak, and the words that came out explained it all. Mileena's eyes opened wider, only slightly so as not to give him the wrong impression, but she was truly not expecting something like this. She looked down at the table, then to the people around her, then to the counter, everywhere her eyes could go they went, obviously trying to avoid Nero's gaze. She could feel his eyes on her, and she had never been so conscious of anyone else before. Thousands of thoughts dashed through her mind in the span of a few seconds, most of them questions, some of them replies. She finally settled enough to look back directly into Nero's eyes, a faint blush colouring her cheeks. She slowly, ever so slowly, moved from where she was and reached over to Nero, looping her fingers into his and assessing the sincerity of his words. Mileena wondered if this was some kind of prank he was playing, but that thought soon flew out the window once her lips connected with his. She held herself there for some time, familiarizing herself with the new sensation. She was aware of the waves of emotions pouring from Nero, and wondered if he could feel the emotions coming from her as well, even though she knew he couldn't.

He had expected Mileena to simply disregard the dare completely, considering it just a joke. So when she actually did it, he was rather surprised. Happy, yes, but very surprised. He opened his eyes wide, almost in shock, when she kissed him, then closed them, trying to savor the moment as best he could. I wish I knew how she really felt...the dare was an okay way to judge it, but I just wish this connection was mutual, instead of just one way..." He thought to himself, unable to have any idea what emotions Mileena was giving off. The sensation he was getting was completely alien to him. It was his first kiss, aside from petty pecks on the cheek when he was very young. But back then, it had no meaning, other than that of a playful gesture. He had never really had any interest in any girls before Mileena, so the feelings he was getting weren't feelings he was used to experiencing.

But then, after a few seconds, all of these feelings sort of faded away. It was just a peaceful moment. The rustling sound of movement and chatter from inside the restaurant and on the streets was no longer there it seemed, and for a moment, it was complete bliss. Then, a few seconds later, he slowly pulled back. He opened his eyes and looked at Mileena, than quickly away. After a second or two, he looked back up at her, the blush fading from his cheeks. He smiled, he wanted to say something, but had no idea what to say. So he decided to just let his first thought come forth, and it was one of surprise. "You...you did it..." He told her, which was of course already obvious. He was still surprised at what had happened, but he decided to just wait for her to say something before saying anything further. So he just sort of looked down at the table, not wanting to look into her eyes, though his fingers were still locked with hers.

Mileena Mayu
~ Genin ~ Mayu Bloodline ~ Kirigakure ~

When their lips disconnected, Mileena could still feel the tingling sensation she had been experiencing as of late. True it was her first kiss, and she was enjoying every moment of it, but how could she be sure he felt the same. Though she felt the emotions from him, she refused to trust them in fear of getting hurt later on. She watched him with steady eyes as he looked at her, then away, then repeated the unsure motions another time. The silence around them made Mileena feel slightly at ease, even though her heart was pummelling against her chest, and when Nero said his fill, three simple words, Mileena finally remembered why he thought she had kissed him. 'Does he really think it nothing more than the bet?' She was at a loss of what to say or do, as she was precarious of what Nero felt towards her.

Mileena steeled herself, gathering her thoughts so she could think clearly. She was not one to simply come out and say what it was that she wanted to say, but over the time she had known Nero, he had managed to change her in ways she didn't think possible. She was less closeted about who she was, she was actually smiling and having fun around him, she enjoyed his company was all, and her behaviour had made a change for the better because of him.
"D...didn't you think I would do it? It was a bet after all"". Mileena smiled nervously and fiddled with her thumbs, then she squeezed her hand tightly, biting her lower lip and preparing for the question that would most likely change things between them. She was unaware of the waitress returning to the table with their food, and she had no idea how much the lady could pick up from what she saw between them both. She nodded her thanks and watched the lady leave, thankful for the distraction that was food. Mileena delved into what was on her plate with too much enthusiasm and nervous fingers, which sent most of the fork's contents back into the plate and leaving only a minimum amount to enter her gullet. As she ate, she renewed the link with wavering aplomb and asked what was on her mind. "How do you really feel about me?" The silence grew even louder as she waited for the answer.

Nero sighed, waiting a minute before addressing the question. He let out a slight nervous laugh, looking down for a moment, then back up at Mileena. He put his fork down, his bowl of ramen empty, and his dinner finished. He sighed, looking down for a moment, then back up. "When I was just a little kid, maybe 7 years old? Or 10 at most...my mom was killed. She always came off as a smart nice person, and my dad never told me the truth. She was a heavy gambler, a stupid one. She lost all her money, so she took a loan. She couldn't pay it back. About 2 weeks later, the goons she borrowed from, took her in the middle of the night. I uh...never saw her again after that." He told her, with a sigh. He wasn't used to telling this story. It was actually the first time he personally had ever told anybody. He was ashamed of it, and he denounced his mother as a relative of his, as she had been the one to throw the family into discord with her lack of problem management.

"I found out, via my dad, eventually. I've sort of paid no mind to girls since then. My dad never left me, only my mom. Only the woman I was closest to. I've had this paranoia, that every girl was like that. That every girl was stupid, or incapable, or that making a connection with one would only result in pain at the end. So naturally, when I first met you, I had absolutely no interest in you. Actually, I thought you were stupid too, because you had chosen to write your statements to me down, instead of speaking. I didn't know any better...but still. I paid you no mind, you were just another person, another face in the village." He told her. She looked down, like he had said something wrong, but he paid it no real mind. He still hadn't answered her question, so he wasn't worried about hurting her emotionally, or doing anything wrong. She had asked him, after all, not the other way around. "So, when I left to go train with axel, and fix up my jutsu that I was having trouble with, it was no big deal. You seemed secretive about something. I was curious, as anybody would be, but I wasn't really interested. I didn't know you at all, and figured the next time I'd see you would be at the chuunin exams, as competition. You could have died, and it would have been a complete nonfactor in my life. However, later, upon talking to you, I realized I wasn't exactly correct about you. I wasn't completely wrong, but I was far from right. It didn't take long for me to realize that my imposed stereotype of female stupidity, had been shattered by you. You were smart, logical, et cetera, et cetera. However, I still wasn't particularly crazy about you, because there were too many other things I didn't know about you. The mental connections, are really what did it for me. I realized that you weren't just another face. At the same time though, I had barely known you, so I couldn't make any serious judgements. But up until then, life was just life. I woke up, slept most of the day due to a lack of care for mostly everything else, or a lack of motivation, or laziness or whatever. It's been years since I've found anything to be truly fun, and satisfying, outside of ninjutsu." He told her, smiling at this point, but the smile quickly diminished to the level of a slight smirk. It was barely noticeable. He sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Now, knowing all of this, and knowing the fact that my answer could be the difference between an awkward crack in our friendship, and a relationship, do you really want to know how I feel?" He asked her, not expecting any specific response, or expecting any particular reaction, other than one of surprise or dismay. He looked up at her, and he could tell she was unsure of the answer she wanted to give. But, she gave a weak nod, meaning yes, and Nero sat back up, to a sitting position rather than his previous slouching one. "Okay then." He began, biting his lip, unsure of what her reaction would be. He looked her in the eyes and took a deep breath. He looked back down, exhaling a few moments later. He looked up and into her eyes, then smiled. "Mileena...you've completely shattered the thoughts about girls that I had before. I really like you, and I think that you're...amazing. I don't want to sound lame, but...everything's better when I'm with you..." He told her, smiling. "I don't know how you feel about me, but...that's how I feel about you." He told her, leaning back, glad to have gotten it off his chest.

Mileena Mayu
~ Genin ~ Mayu Bloodline ~ Kirigakure ~

Mileena half expected him to not answer her due to all the time that had passed prior to her question, and was taken aback when he started recounting his past to her. It was unexpected to say the least, but she listened with keen interest, wanting to know all there was to know about him. Once he had finished telling her of his mother's...issues, she couldn't help but sympathize with him, placing one hand on his and rubbing a thumb gently over it. He continued, and what came next hit her like a blow to the stomach. To hear that he thought of her as nothing more than another stupid woman came as a shock. She looked down at the table, unwilling to listen to anything else he had to say, taking his words as rejection. Then he continued on to talk about recent events, about meeting Axel, going to the Dojo to train, and she found herself reluctantly looking back into his eyes as he continued. When he asked the question of if she really wanted to know how he felt, her head went up and down with far too little enthusiasm as was befitting the moment. When he told her how to feel, she felt happy, yet her face refused to show it. She sat stunned in place for a few minutes too long, which would surely drive him to believe that she shared no such feelings towards him.

Mileena thought about it for a moment, wondering if it was something she was ready to share with someone. It was dark past, something she had kept to herself all these years, silently suffering through the memories alone, every day of her life. She took a deep breath and looked into Nero's eyes, asking him without words to bare with her.
"I was only five when I lost both my parents. It was on the day of my fifth birthday, the day I lost my voice. They brought me to a doctor, but no diagnosis could be made, as something like this had never happened before, not as far as the doctor was concerned. I was taken home and sat with my parents for a long while, and the looks on their faces made me really sad. I was only thinking to myself that they shouldn't be sad, and I had no idea that they would hear. When they started to leave I felt as if the most important people in the world were just going to abandon me, but they stayed, and looking back now, I would have preferred if they had left. I...I thought it was a dream. My entire village was on fire. People were screaming all over and my parents were...The were..." Tears welled up in Mileena's eyes as she recounted the memories. She delayed telling him what happened next, but figured that she may as well tell the whole truth.

"In the dream that I had, I was standing on my parents' bed, looking down at their lifeless bodies. I could feel something in my hands, a knife, dripping with blood. So much blood. Then there was this man in a heavy looking cloak, talking to me, telling me that everything would be alright. I didn't know what it all meant, but when I finally woke up, there I was, at the the side of their bed, looking at their dead bodies as I stood there with the knife in hand. Everything else became a blur as I found myself in a forest, attempting to save a woman and her child from some guys who were about to have their way with her. I managed to open a path for our escape but the real rescue came from the woman's husband who saved us in the end. They adopted me, and I lived with them for a while, but everything went downhill when her husband learned of my abilities and started using me like I was some kind of tool. I managed to escape it all, but he found me, and I thought he was going to kill me when I felt his lifeless body fall next to me, and I could hear faint voices coming closer.

I woke up some time after that in a large building in the village I now know as Sunagakure. That's where the new Mizukage is from isn't it? I don't like that place. It was as if they were trying to do experiments on me, though I wasn't sure. I managed to escape after a while from there too, but then I found myself suddenly back in my home village, looking at the ruins, and the cloaked man stood beside me, talking to me yet again. I... I..."
Mileena ended her story on that note, not wanting to say anymore, at least not now. She looked back up at Nero, seeing that he was listening to her with as much interest as she had listened to him. She wanted to stop the tears, to tell him that she was fine, but the torrent wouldn't stop. "I've acted like a zombie most of my life after that, until I met you at the gates. I was curious at first, mainly because your emotions weren't as overwhelming as others. That same lazy attitude you have was what drew me to you. I admit that I wasn't too happy to see you at first, but then the moment Deil sent us on those missions, my feelings started to change. I started to understand you a bit more at the Library, and at the Memorial, I felt it. You aren't that person you try to pass yourself off as. It runs much deeper than that. You have a sense of duty though you pretend not to care, and you protect those close to you with everything you have, which is what came to mind when I heard you threaten those thieves on my behalf. I...I like you Nero. That's how I feel about you. You make me happy, Make me feel like I can stand up to the world with more confidence".

The tears streamed down her face freely now, and she made a move so bold it startled even her. She held one hand on is face and went in for a passionate kiss. She kissed him with more zest than the first time, and the butterfly feeling returned, but she ignored it completely. When she finally released him, she sat back in the seat and blushed like a school girl with a crush. She avoided his gaze completely, not knowing how he would react to all of that, and decided to wait and see, conscious of their fingers still intertwined.

Nero frowned as she told him her story. Had she really been the one who killed her parents? He decided that it was a question for a different occasion. He didn't cry though. He didn't even show any signs of tears, but he knew what she had been through to some extent, and he was able to sympathize with her. He was curious about the story, but he knew that this wasn't the time for questions. He sighed as she maintained a straight face when he told her how he felt, and looked down, wondering if he had made a terrible mistake. He had remained composed, showing almost no emotion as he listened carefully to her story. He frowned every once and a while, but for the most part, he kept his cool. Until Mileena
started crying. That's when he broke too. It wasn't a sob, but a few tears fell from his eyes. He wanted to say something or do something to comfort her, but he had no idea of what to say or do, so he just kept quiet. Then something unexpected happened. His eyes closed as he felt her lips press up against his. He closed his eyes, letting the peaceful sensation wash over him, drowning out all other emotions. He had never been so close to anyone before, and yet
somehow, with Mileena, who he had known for less than a day, they were telling eachother their bloody pasts, without secrets. He slowly opened his eyes, snapping back to reality. He smiled and looked up at Mileena. He hadn't dared her on that one, so he had a pretty good

idea of how she felt. "We both know pain, and what it means to lose someone we care about. So we'll be a team. We'll watch each others backs, and
look out for each other, that way we can try our best to make sure neither one of us has to be alone."
He told her, reassuringly. "Because right now, the last thing I want to do is lose you..." He added, their fingers still interlocked.

Mileena listened to his words and the smile that crossed her face was more than enough of a response to all that he had said. She was happy, even the food before her, forgotten and neglected, seemed to be crying as far as a crazy person could tell. With their feelings finally known to each other, Mileena wondered what kind of turn life would take. She looked up at the sky, wondering if Deil would still be at the Dojo at this hour. She stood from her seat and decided that they may as well give the report before it got any later. Her hand extended toward Nero, awaiting his to be placed in it before they both went on their way to meet the Mizukage.

Nero smiled at her. He brushed his hair of of his face and placed the owed money on the table. He made a quick handseal, creating a clone. It wasn't a powerful one, but it would be able to inform Deil of the completion of the missions they were assigned, as well as of the encounter with the graverobbers. He sent the clone off, put his hand in Mileenas, and walked off to the hospital to get his shoulder checked out.

Saiyuri had been walking around Kirigakure attempting to find the closest restaurant. Luckily the medallion that Deil had given her helped when she asked where the place was. After the right directions, Saiyuri found herself at a quaint place smelling of seafood. She walked right up to the counter and stared at everything they had to offer, unsure of what to get at first. Deil had told her what he wanted so she placed his order first. After a quick conversation with the cook, it was decided he would create an assortment of things for the foreigner to try. She could barely keep her excitement in and paid with a very big smile. Saiyuri lifted the bag of food carefully and began her trip back to the Mizukage's office.

As Akira leisurely strolled from the training grounds to the restaurant, he couldn't help but notice it was in a state of disarray. Some chairs were upside down, there were dirty dishes still on the tables, and some of the tables had a broken leg. The boy walked into the restaurant and noticed a beam of light shining in through the roof. He looked up and saw a hole in the roof. What the hell happened here? Akira walked around the restaruant pondering what could have done this. Just then the restaurant owner came out of the kitchen and called to him. Hey, boy! Mind giving me a hand around here? It's gotten kinda messy. He was bald on the top of his head, with grey hair in a semi-circle around the sides and back of his head. He walked with a limp, too. Akira wasn't really interested in manual labor at the moment, he just wanted to eat. Will I get to eat for free? I mean, this is quite a bit of work. The owner stared at Akira in disbelief. Y-yer not serious...are you? This is easy stuff! It would only take an hour or two to fix this place up! Akira didn't agree. He wasn't going to work for some man he didn't even know, especially if he wasn't getting paid. Why should I work if I'm not getting paid? I just wanna eat. whined the young boy. Eh shaddap and get over here! I'll teach ya to disrespect your elders! Now get your punk-a** over here and start working! I'll "pay" you when you're done! The enraged man picked up a hammer and threw it overhand right at Akira's face. O yea! WOO! He was really excited about getting payed. He snatched the hammer out of the air and walked towards a table.

So what do I do? As obvious as it seemed, Akira just wasn't thinking. Are you serious? Fix the damned place up! Take the hammer, grab some nails and put the legs back on the table. After that, get a broom and sweep up the place. Then, go to the tables that have dirty dishes on them and take them to the kitchen and wash them. Kid, it's not that hard. Just clean up. When everything is done we'll get to the roof and patch up that small hole. Seriously? This kid doesn't use his brain. Ridiculous. Akira was a little annoyed by how the store owner had told him what to do. Jeez whats his problem? I just asked what I'm supposed to do. Whatever, I'll just get this stuff done and then I'll get some food.

Akira slipped the hammer into his pants and started working on the dirty dishes. He grabbed up several stacks and took them into the kitchen, then repeated this process until he was done. Now in the kitchen, the boy grabbed the soap, turned the water on to a steady stream and began scrubbing the dishes. When he was done, Akira rinsed the dishes and placed them neatly in the rack for them to dry.Doo-di-doo-dum-doo-doo Hey, he hasn't even told me his name. I'll just call him Old Man. Hehehe.... (1/3)

With the dishes finished, the young boy moved back into the dining room. There aren't too many broken tables.....Lets see how quick I can get them all done anyway! Akira took out the hammer and grabbed a box of nails laying on an already fixed table. Then, he rushed to a broken table and flipped it upside down. With his hammer in one hand and the leg in the other, he pulled a nail from the box, propped up the leg onto the table and began hammering away. Akira moved onto the next table, starting a sort of groove for his work. The store owner walked in and just watched Akira work on the tables for a few minutes. He was rather surprised at the boys rate of work. Wow, this kid might not be too smart but he sure does work fast! This place'll be done in no time! The owner took a seat in a dirty chair as Akira raced around flipping tables and hammering nails. He allowed himself to nap after the boy had fixed several tables. Akira heard the store owner yawn and he looked over at him. Hahahaha! Old Man can't even stay awake! This is too funny. He smirked as he finished hammering his last table.

Now finished fixing the tables, Akira crept silently to the store owner and "accidentally" dropped his hammer on the floor. It made a loud thud and startled the store owner. He lept out of his chair and screamed rather girly. Eh! Wuzzat!? What the hell was that!? Akira couldn't help but laugh out loud. He didn't expect the store owner to be THAT scared by the noise. He fell to the floor laughing and started complaining about how all the laughing was starting to hurt. But, as much as it hurt him to laugh for so long, he couldn't stop. The store owner was a bit embarrased and angry with Akira's shenanigans. What the hell are you laughing at? Are you done yet? I'm getting tired of you. Come on, we're going to work on the roof. Then, you're gonna get the hell out of here. 2/3
