Your right. It does put people in other places but only sometimes. The crack is like a pencil line and if you think of one, you know that a pencil line isn't always straight or thin and sometimes it might smudge.
A crack is like this as some parts of the crack can and will move things to a parallel space, other part of the world, other planet, other time.
Prisoner Zero walked into the crack and showed up at earth.
But other times the crack will erase things from history, such as it did in Flesh and Stone, causing a huge plot hole.
*Specualtion* Rory could have been taken by the crack and reverted to an earlyer time or age that would bring him back to life and then sort of moved to some other place
