As the familliar looking brunette scarfed away at the many different foods at the buffet, the wig on her head shifted slightly, showing bits of blonde. She ignored the events around her, trying to keep herself from giving up her identity, so she could enjoy the feast.

The brunette flushed in embarrassment for a few seconds before realizing something and laughing quietly, calling after him. "Well actually, I don't think you ever said 'nice to see you' for me to say back to you.... You only thanked me for inviting you."

Lone stopped in his movement towards the food as he also realized this. Raising a finger, he turned around in place with a smile towards her as he said, "True. Very true." Lowering the finger to point to Lucis, he said to her, "Nice to see you again."

When Lone pointed at Lucis, Kyou's heart began beating more rapidly as his eyes narrowed. Something's not right about that... That man... he reeks of death... the angel thought. He shrugged off the feeling as best he could, turning his focus back to the party, and to Lucis.

She rolled her eyes and smiled, shaking her head slightly in amusement. "I win. Nice to see you again too, before you say that I didn't say it that time..... Now go eat if you're hungry, supposedly Kanbae made enough food for a small army, and it looks like a lot of it will be going to waste."
The brunette shifted her line of vision just in time to see Kyou's reaction to Lone, quirking one eyebrow and wondering what she missed. "Are you alright, Kyou?" She frowned faintly in concern, moving slightly closer towards the angel.

Kyou blinked in surprise as Lucis inched toward him. "Oh, I'm fine. I just... I got a bad feeling just now," he said. "But I'm sure it's nothing." He smiled at her in what he hoped was an expression of reassurance, and tried not to think about the man who had just walked away from them.

Lone's mech eye turned to look at the angel, watching him for a moment before turning back to Lucis.
Lone smirked. "I wouldn't say that just yet. My sister's bad habit has rubbed off on me." Lone grinned before turning back to wards the food.

Lucis wasn't stupid, nor was she oblivious, but for the sake of trusting Kyou and not wanting any potential problems, she would pretend she didn't notice the looks going back and forth. She smiled back, calmly. "Okay... But don't worry about it, this place is very well protected."
Usagi's food habits rubbing off on... Now that was a scary thought. ... At least the food wouldn't go to waste. "Oh dear... Well, have fun eating....."
((Hey guys, just let me know when to kick the ACTUAL plot into gear. *thinking probably with her next post* Anyone opposed to that?))

Adrian noticed the man approaching him, and tensed, but still kept his body language fluid. He glanced at Kyou and Lucis, knowing that none of them could see him behind his sunglasses. Well, that can't be good. Didn't think I'd ever be seeing him again...

"I guess I'll start this up, then..." She sighed in resignation and smiled over to Kyou before walking over to the small orchestra in the corner that had been playing, signaling them to finish their song.
Once the music had quieted, she glanced around the people there. Apparently her parents were even worse party planners than she thought, if so many people refused their invitations. "Welcome, everyone, to Solaria. Doubtless some of you came from far away, and to any of the guests that would like or need it, there are plenty of guest rooms open in the royal wing of the castle for the duration of the week of the ball."
A servant appeared through the door behind her, standing demurely with his hands folded in front of him a few feet back and away, garbed as the rest of the palace servants in purple with gold trimmings, a large key ring in his hands, obviously for the aforementioned rooms. "I don't know the purpose behind this little masquerade, but I will wish you all to have a wonderful time here for th---" A terrified feminine scream from the direction of the kitchens cut her off in the middle of her sentence, and she spun in place and took off to see what had happened to cause it, not bothering to finish what she was saying, hiding her own worry behind her literal mask.
She skidded to a stop just in front of the kitchen door, mouthing a quiet 'oh' before dropping to her knees next to the servant girl, checking her pulse. None. Not like was really expecting one, considering the knife through the girl's heart and her hand wrapped around the hilt. Suicide. So it seemed, at least. At least, that would have been slightly more plausible had the girl's eyes not been wide open in the terror that so frightened her even in death.

As soon as he heard the scream, Adrian set his plate down and ran toward the kitchens. Without looking, he knew the mysterious Doctor was right on his heels. He skidded to a halt and looked from Lucis to the dead girl at her feet.
"Looks like we're going to have an interesting week," the swordsman said bitterly.

Hearing the scream, it to caught Lone's attention. Though he wasn't as jumpy about it like the others as he walked to where everyone was instead. "Maybe one of the servant's saw a rat."
When he did reach the scene, he stayed out of everyone's way as it appeared to be more serious than he thought. Peeking around people, he took note at everything he saw and muttered to himself, "Oh man..."
"...Were playing a live version of Clue?" Upon him saying those words, EVA turned off the extra features of Lone's eye. Lone immediately noticed and started saying to himself soft enough for no one to be distracted by him. "Hey. EVA. Turn everything back on." "Negative.-If-this-is-a-game,-I-will-not-allow-you-to-cheat." From there, Lone started arguing with his A.I.

Sei took a little longer to walk over, mostly because it would be unbecoming to run. That, and she had been having a hard time extricating herself from a knot of the court boys promising to protect her from whatever had made the servant scream.
Coming up and finally working her way over too see what everyone was staring at, Sei could honestly say she was not expecting a dead body. Or at least, not a human one. And being the completely normal, coddled and protected noblewoman that she was, death, especially an apparent suicide, was NOT her forte. The orange-haired woman gasped in startled shock, then put one hand over her mouth and fainted.

Lucis laughed mirthlessly, hiding just how upset and frustrated and downright angry she was. "It better not be an 'interesting' week, or someone is going to end up finding themselves a permanent residence in the dungeon."
The comment about Clue evaded Lucis' understanding, never having played it or many other similar board games, but she did get the basic idea of the question. "A game? I wish... Right now I'm just hoping for the small, sickening miracle of Hesnia having actually committed suicide and not having been murdered."
((Okay, I don't know if I'll be vanishing from Gaia as of right now, but I'll probably be gone at least until the 22nd. Which isn't that long, but that's what I'm hoping for. If I end up gone longer, I'm going to have to kick one of my friends onto my account to post the things I send her, so... I might be slow in responding, but I will find a way to do so. So, I don't remember what my point was anymore, but.... Yeah))
