Ate yawned heavily, standing up slowly and stretching out to the full extent of her joints. She popped a few of her joints in her neck, the bones cracking heavily.

She then sighed and noted the dryness in her mouth - it was common, when she woke up, and she glanced around, looking for the familiar surroundings she was used to.

She blinked four or five times, wondering where this place was - but it was her new home, the oasis in the middle of the desert, with Conundrum.

That brought a smile to her face and she slowly started for the water, sighing softly with each breath; just because she was happy to be at her new home, where things felt right, didn't mean she wanted to be up this early.

Slowly, as per her usual, she walked toward her source of water, the oasis' source, and upon finding its beautiful waters still there, lowered her muzzle slowly and drank deeply, finding herself refreshed and more awake with each sip.

Finally, she pulled her head back and looked around at her new home's beauty, and couldn't help but smile. She was so... So excited to be here.

User ImageConundrum had woken up a long while ago, it seemed to him, but ever since he had been dozing on and off in the early morning light. Since they were not an official Tribe yet, he had no official responsibilities--but he'd still caught two birds and a couple of rabbits for the foxes that were currently gathered in The Oasis.

Conny stirred as he heard movement, his ears twitching toward the noise. His halflidded eyes lazily watched Ate wake up and go to the spring, a small, sleepy smile forming as she straightened and smiled.

Realizing he would probably have to be more awake soon anyways, Conundrum stirred slowly and let out a loud, big yawn before standing, popping his joints back into place. Slowly and lazily he walked to the spring, dipping his own muzzle in and drinking his fill.

With a lazy, offhanded smile, Conundrum said quietly so as not to wake the others, "Good morning, Ate."

Ate was not deaf, no matter whether or not she was /sleepy/. She knew instantly that it was Conundrum simply for the sound of it. She turned her head a bit, but waited for him to make it to the water's edge.

"Good morning, Conundrum." Ate giggled softly, looking around at the various foxes in states of sleep and nodded. "It's nice like this now, don't you think?" She purred quietly, deep in her chest.

"We're a real tribe now - at least, it really seems that way." She walked over and nosed him playfully on the shoulder. "I /told/ you we would be. There's no way /any/ modeities would lead a fox here, least of all an elder, for no reason. They'd have to be a pretty terrible deity to do that to you, and they actually sound really nice."

She laughed softly and looked around. "It's almost like paradise here. Hard to believe that when just a short distance from here, it's practically hell."

There was a short giggle, and she nosed him again lightly. "Did you sleep well, in any case?"

Conundrum smiled sleepily again at Ate, chuckling quietly when she nosed him.

"It does feel like that," Conny agreed quietly, straightening up to stretch again. "I suppose they would have to be rather cruel," And Conny cast his eyes upward again, distracted for a few moments--it didn't seem exactly kind to him to pelt him with dreams night after night.

Shaking his head to clear it as Ate nosed him again, Conny smiled down at her. "Yes, I slept well," because at least none of the dreams had been nightmares. "And you, Ate?" Conny continued, nosing her gently in return.

She was right: it was rather like a paradise here, in their not-so-little-anymore Oasis, with the sparkling blue water and vibrant green of the trees. And of course, having what could actually count as Tribe didn't hurt anything either.

After a few moments of contended silence, Conny said, "Solarus and Miraja spoke to me last night. They..." he paused, smiled wryly, then continued, "have chosen an appropriate name for our Tribe: Solarie. What do you think?"

While he let her mull over the name, Conny dipped his muzzle back into the cool liquid and took another drink.

Ate giggled quietly when he nosed her. "Mmmh, I slept pretty well. Still getting used to living in the desert, no matter if it is really pleasant here!"

For once in her life, the silence /was/ pleasant, and she didn't bother trying to break it, just taking a deep breath and listening to the sounds around her, even if they were still faint to her relatively untrained ears.

"Solarie..." She repeated it softly, tasting it on her tongue and letting it ring in her ears once more. Yet again, a soft giggle escaped her and she tilted her head as he drank. Her ear flicked and she nodded her head. "It sounds like a good name."

She paused, and then softly, "A strong name. It just sounds ... right." She laughed a little. "Don't you think so? I mean, they are gods, I guess, so of course it's /right/... Right?"

Ate tilted her head and then shook it fairly hard, "Sorry... I'm not making much sense. But - I really do like it."

There was a brief pause as she thought. "We're a real tribe now, aren't we - or thereabout. A name, members - an elder..." She smiled a bit slyly at him, then took another drink of her own. "This is exciting."

Conundrum smiled as he watched her, her laughter ringing pleasantly in his ears.

"It is rather exciting," Conny agreed, his smile widening. It did sound right--he had to hand the gods that, they were pretty good at naming stuff. "I'm glad you like it as much as I do," Conundrum added reassuringly, flicking his tail behind him easily.

"Would you care to go for a walk, before it gets too dreadfully hot?" And before the others awoke and he had to speak to all of them, too. To him, Ate was a lot more...interesting than the others. A lot more interesting than she should have been.

Shaking his head to clear it, he offered her another smile. "Perhaps we could find food or something."

Pft. Anyone who said that sounded like a date was a liar.

"Ooh, yes. A walk sounds lovely." Ate giggled and walked past him, gently bumping her hip up against his.

She enjoyed the idea of alone time with Conundrum, with no one to bother them yet, with no heat to take their energy away.

"Food sounds great too." Another laugh burbled from her chest as she looked toward the other parts of the oasis.

She didn't think of it as a date - well, she had, and then she'd realised Conundrum probably hadn't /meant/ it as a date, and let it drop.

She started walking ahead, her tail dragging against his fur almost lazily, even as she was still absently thinking. She would have enjoyed it being a date, but it /wasn't/, of course it wasn't - why would Conundrum like her, of over all the others, and there was no reason and so she wouldn't assume anything until she was sure that he meant it in that way, which was possibly a little dense, but Ate-like.

"Where are we going to go hunting at...?"

((Unlocking this one too so we can use it for breedings if we want~ heart ))

Conundrum had to think about that one--he let the hunters do the hunting, and thus didn't know any of the 'good' spots, or any of the 'bad' spots.

"Um...let's explore and find out?" Conny said with a winning grin over at her as he added, "So maybe more of just a walk than a hunting trip," he chuckled, shaking his head at himself.

"Though I guess if we see any game, we can try to go for it..." He was babbling now, and he shook his head. "Sorry. I'm still not much of a morning fox." He chuckled some, then caught up to her easily so they were shoulder to shoulder, walking together.

"You, as the lady, may choose our direction," He bowed his head playfully, gently teasing her. "Where do you want to go?"
