Sauda blinked, shaking her head slightly in disbelief. "Yeah, I get it...I just don't understand why people have to be so mean all the time." She hadn't been doing anything at them at all; Catzi probably hadn't been either. She'd definitely have to think about that some more and see if she could come up with a logical explanation behind it.

"Being Pagan shouldn't have to do with anything." The girl grumbled, apparently miffed about it. "Neither should skin color." Definitely a bit sore about being teased about it, it seemed. Well, she'd heal in time. She was planning on learning how exactly to defend herself so she wouldn't freeze up like that again. That had been close to the worst feeling she had felt in a while. Helpless was not a role she would ever fall into.

"A vampire?" The girl's eyes widened slightly, not in fear, but admiration. She did seem to have a tendency to like dark, morbid things. Feeling guilty about being so wet, Sauda gingerly sat on the edge of the fluffy bed, quietly admiring the clothing. She'd have to see if she could get Tsunake to take her shopping again. Maybe find some dark, more...slinky sort of clothing. Stuff that was still comfortable though.

Cat raised an eyebrow at the skin color comment. “They’ve been making fun of you’re skin color?” Her face got dark for a moment then sighing she smiled again as if deciding something important. Her face brightened even more at the vampire comment.

“Yeah I got her a while back, my friend and my employer both asked me to take care of her, see there was a big war going on and she was an orphan.” Shrugging slightly Catzi looked to the wet pre-teen on her daughters bed and smiled.

“Well I’ll leave you to change, when you’re done come find me though I have something to show you ok?”

The girl nodded mutely, looking moody, but pretty much over it. It had happened, and there was really nothing else she could do about it. Unless she wanted to brood, but that wasn't exactly her style. People were stupid--watching Jerry Springer had told her this.

"A war? Oh, that's awful..." She murmured quietly, feeling contrite as she looked around the room for a second time. No wonder she hadn't seen Ceridwen often--besides the fact that she was a vampire. Well, she had wound up with Catzi, and that was a good thing, so hopefully life wasn't too difficult for her. Sauda doubted it; everyone in this house was quite friendly.

"Okay." A smile, and Sauda rose to her feet, glancing at the clothing, and then down at herself. The wet clothes were soon removed, and she pulled on the stuff left on the bed, noting with a pleased look that they almost fit perfectly. Now, what to do with her wet stuff...Not wanting to slop it on the floor, Sauda simply rolled it into a neat little bundle and stuck it under her arm, slipping outside to find Catzi.

A crash could be heard from the lower part of the house as Cat dropped a large box to the floor. Scrounging through her bookcase she started to search for a book she new was close to the living room on some level of her multiple shelves. And with her mind preoccupied her sub-conscience began playing giving her the idea that removing all the books from the said shelves would bring her closer to her target. Hastily agreeing with the idea she began to do just that, only pausing for the moment to reassure a small bishoujo girl that everything was indeed alright and that she should go back to playing with the other girls in the dormitory part of the house.

Head tilting sharply at the crash, Sauda peered over the side of the stairs and confirmed that the noises were coming from the living room. What was Catzi doing, exactly...? Tightening her arm around the soggy bundle of clothes, she silently headed down the stairs, glancing at another small girl that slipped past her. "Catzi...?" The green-haired lass said softly, pausing to watch the woman pull even more books off the book shelf. "I'm all changed." She wasn't going to ask a stupid question like, 'What are you looking for?'. That was obvious enough--a book of some sort. Why else would she be rifling through a bookshelf?

She almost laughed, Sauda seemed so uncomfortable and she could almost taste the unanswered question on her tongue. ‘What in dear god are you doing?’ Looking at the dripping bundle in Sauda’s small hands. Guilt washed over her like cold water. Oops.

“Oh crap I forgot about that!” Laughing Cat climbed over the piles of books around her lifting the cloths from the young girl’s hands and taking it to the basement to dry quick as a flash. She returned momentarily smiling broadly at Sauda.

“So I think I almost found it, can ya guess what it is?”

Well, Catzi was being so nice to her even though she had just sort of popped up without any notice at all...and she had gotten the floors all wet. Though, yes, Sauda was curious as to what the woman was doing, seeming to shrivel guiltily when Catzi glanced at what she was carrying. The clothes were still dripping, after all…she was probably leaving puddles wherever she went. Wasn't exactly nice.

The lass relaxed almost instantly as she heard the laugh, letting a quietly amused smile play across her own features. "It's okay...I'll clean up the mess they made." Poor Catzi had so much work to do a lot of the time--Sauda remembered having lots of fun when she had been here. Catzi almost never got mad, and when she did, she never actually yelled or got scary. The silver-haired woman really did remind her of Tsunake, and that was a good thing. Or, rather, Tsunake reminded her of Catzi.

"Well, I'd guess a book of some sort." She replied, head tilting as she glanced up and down at the bookshelf. "But I've seen all sorts of movies where people hide secret stuff in bookshelves...like keys or magic things." And for the first time, Sauda grinned, rocking back and forth on her heels. "Whatever it is, I bet I'll like it."

Cat waved off the girls offer to clean up the watery mess merely pointing to Abidemi that there was something edible like on the floor and watching merely as the little blue monsters took care of the whole mess. Abidemi was not pleased that the substance had been mere water but he soon found himself contented by chasing after a fast moving shadow from a out side bird. Smiling Catzi motioned to her guest to take a set in the chair she had been in earlier as cat rummaged through her assorted books. Grinning broadly she raised a large, thick, brown leather book in the air and made a happy non verbal exclamation. Making her way to Sauda Cat knelled next to the girl and handed her the book with care.

“When I was younger I went through a ruff patch in my life, some of my friends and I had fallen out of touch and I was finding out some odd things about the universe. On top of all that I was being treated poorly by those I went to college with. I was being treated as inferior for my religious and sociological beliefs. It’s because of that, Sauda that I made what you hold in your hands now. In each page of this book in a human that was too progressive for their time. Some were moved by the fight against racism, others found truths about the world no one else wanted to hear. But I put in this book the facts of their ideals as accurately as I could. Understanding them helped me understand myself and others better, and I think it might now help you understand too. Do you want it?”

Sauda giggled quietly at the sight of Abidemi, remembering how mischevious the little beastie had been. And at the same time, she had always thought that he was awfully cute. He was a crazy little thing, that was for certain. Her gaze was quickly drawn to Catzi when the woman apparently found what she was looking for, grinning with pleasure. Curious, and feeling as though this was something very important, she took the book with gingerly. It looked very hold, and somehow, she was delighted in the scent of the leather. She wasn't exactly sure why, just the combined scent and texture pleased her. Maybe it was because she had never exactly seen nor held something made of real leather...or who knew? Did she really need a reason?

When Catzi began to speak, she glanced up, listening quietly and intently. As understanding dawned on her, Sauda stared at the book, then back up at Catzi. "Too progressive...could there really be such a thing?" She murmured almost to herself, arms wrapping around the book a bit more tightly. People who fought against racism, people who searched for truth, despite the fact that they were pushed aside... "I'd love to have it." Came the hushed, honest reply. This almost seemed to answer her questions, her questions about those boys and why they had called her the names they did. Maybe she could understand people just a little bit better with this. And the fact that Catzi trusted her enough to give it to her...well, that was enough to make Sauda determined to read it--all of it.
