The Ninetales stared at the Abra for a moment, allowing him to recognize her obvious gender, before taking the Ability Card in with Psychic. It suddenly burned up in front of Imiti's eyes, the flames twisting and turning to spell out his new ability:

Somewhat abashed, Imiti, uh, muttered a quick, "I-I'm sorry," before teleporting out of the building.

Stark walked into the shop, taking time to adjust to the dim light. His teeth clenched slightly on the card in his jaws- but only slightly. He didn't want to damage it, anyway- it was the only thing this person would take as payment for her services. He sat looking at the Ninetales for a moment, then, starting slightly as he remembered, placed the card on the ground before her.

"If... if you could change my Ability, please. I need something more... substantial," he said, awaiting the Ninetales' response.

The Ninetails took note of the Absol's arrival, eyes flickering with acknowledgement of her customer as he approached her. She took the Absol's request in silence, eyes never leaving the battle-scarred Pokemon's face. As he set down the card she placed a single paw on it, closing her eyes and swishing her tails back and forth as if feeling for something in the air. In another instant, the Ninetails' eyes snapped open and she pressed a paw to Stark's forehead briefly. "Pure Power," she said, eyes shifting from the Absol's own to somewhere far in the distance, "May your fighting prowess serve you well." With that she said nothing more, retreating back to the shadows of the room and leaving Stark alone.

Stark flinched slightly as the Ninetales placed her paw on his head. He waited for a brief moment, as she proclaimed his new Ability. Stark felt a sudden rush of power suffuse his limbs at the words, "Pure Power," rushing down his legs, across his claws, into his very mind, helping him make sense of his newfound strength.

He exhaled shakily as the feeling faded slightly- he felt as though he had been training for months. He looked into the shadows where the Ninetales was lurking, and nodded respectfully.

"Thank you, madam," he said with respect, then left the store, eager to test his newfound prowess.
