Mau blinked back his surprise at being called attractive. "Um... thank you? Don't think I really want to be attractive to pokemon though. And the Magnemite was more attracted to Roy." Then he nearly exploded with laughter. "I grew up! years out in the sun, time in jail, team rocket... You can't expect me to retain my youthful beauty." He bat his lashes sarcastically.
He shook his head then and recomposed himself. "Koi would have loved you, though he would get annoyed at you for just about anything. Timid guy. Fun to annoy. Roy might have been best buddies with you... And Nia is about half as friendly as Seth is." He laughed. "She was such a ray of sunshine." His voice was dripping with sarcasm, though it was still fond. "But she was one hell of a trainer. When I transferred here, I left her and Koi with my other pokemon."

Cal just laughed along with Mau. Him batting his lashes set her on into a fit of giggles, so much so that she had to sit back down on his bed. Her eyes filled with joyful tears as she bounced on the bed, holding her sides. "P-please! Don't ever do that again!" She held her sides as if they would burst.
Skye, in his comatose state, rolled over to glare at Cal for disturbing his sleep. "Piiiii kaaaa..." He waddled over to Mau's pillow curling up into a little ball of yellow and blue fur.
She looked through her blurred vision at Mau, "I have no best friends!" She stuck her tongue out at him, her voice still quivering from all her laughter. She wiped a tear from her eye, calming down a bit. "I would've loved to test my skills against her." She knew that she probably would have been no match for any friend of his.

Mau settled himself on the foot of the bed, looking at Cal. What, you don't like my 'sexy face?' Oh Cal I'm hurt." He wasn't serious, but he had to ham it up just a little before becoming more serious. "No best friend? Well, don't worry about that. You're still young, and you'll meet lots of people." Not like Mau put much faith in best friends... but it was always nice to have someone to talk with.
"To be honest... Bubbles would have moped the floor with you." He said in all seriousness. "That is... Bubbles is Nia's Agron. Damn scary thing it was... I was always glad she was on our team. Wouldn't have wanted to face her in a battle."
"But enough about that... it's all in the past. What do you say we head down to the kitchen, cook some poffins or something?"

Cal laughed a little more, trying to hide a blush that crept over her face. "I would be wiped out by anyone at this point." She pointed to her sore leg, giving it a slight poke. She sighed, it was pretty numb at this point.
She grabbed Mau's hand and squeezed it tightly, "Than you can be my best friend! Ok?" She smiled warmly at him. She scooped Skye up in her free arm, carrying him like a toy but careful not to disturbed him too much. She tugged at Mau, signaling for him to get up. "Come on~" she smiled, "I'm tired of hospital food, I want something better to eat."

"Well, that's why we're going to train together." He was about to say something else when Cal burst out about being best friends. He only sputtered slightly as she grab his hand. "Ah, oh... ok?" He stammered, letting Cal pull him along. "Alright, what would you like to eat then?"

"Whatever we find is good. Just something quick." She paused, "Hold that thought." She handed Skye over to him and ran/skipped to her room. Cal was back in a flash, with a bag covered in pins and buttons with assorted berries inside. "I have the ten for you and some more for the poffins." She grinned from ear to ear and lead him out of his room and to the kitchen, holding his hand all the while.

"Why don't you-!" But Cal was gone, and Mau was stuck holding the pikachu that had just eaten three months of research. "...put him in his pokeball..." He waited, idly petting the napping pikachu's fur until Cal came back.
He looked at the bag, thinking it was kind of tacky, but then thought better of it that a bag covered in pins could be a better weapon then one without. Ok. He approved of the bag.
"So, you want something simple? We could make a sandwich... or... Hm... If you have some mago or iapapa berries, we could make some jam... What do you like to eat?"

Cal looked from Mau to Skye, "Um.. Maybe I should put let him rest..." She fumbled through the bag, taking out Skye's pokeball adorned with a yellow lightning bolt. She returned him to his ball, putting it into her pocket.
She delicately placed the bag on the counter, beginning to sort through her things. "Well..." She eyed her bundle of berries, "I'm game for anything." She smirked. A treat made from berries would be quick and easy to make.
