I really did like the videos because they really do help set us straight pretty much. In my opinion about the solution with no government is learning how to take care of ourselves. Grow your own food, share information, and help each other instead of spending a huge amount of money just to see a doctor.

Sorry, but I personally do not agree with this topic.

You are not FORCED to work for the government.. Are homeless/jobless people forced to work? No! Its there choice! If I REALLY wanted to, I could become apart of the government myself, and so could you! Why? Because we have the choice to do what we want! How? Education.

I personally enjoy life. I have a job, have a loving family, and enjoy every moment of it! So if I am wrong, and really am a slave, then I guess I'm fine with it! I don't have to worry about producing food myself, worry about food being destroyed by weather, worry about simple cure diseases, worry about my children getting an education and being able to read, and other stuff because I contribute to society. When early humans contributed to themselves, they did not live very long. They had troubles of weather, droughts, stealing, SIMPLE diseases, and more.

I also disagree with the illusion of true freedom. We do have freedom. Why are there restriction? Because without them, society wouldn't work! Without RULES or LAWS, we wouldn't be able to function as a whole.

This is a great resource.

I understand I may be wrong, but this is my personal opinion.
Feel free to argue it.

Note: I respect all your opinions, I would appreciate if you did the same.
If you see something I don't, please explain.

I held a discussion about slavery in my Philosophy Club I run, and we came up with a very interesting conclusion. Slaves (or services in this case) have more power than the person charge. The person in charge depends on the slave to do the job he, she, it is supposed to do. But once he/she/it refuses, they display this power. In reality, we have the power to over throw our government, we are just unaware, due to the fear of rule breaking and law enforcement. You see on the news the Occupy Wallstreet, while Wall street attempts to deny their message. They are afraid of our outcry, because we do have the power. We are submitting our power when we accept that the government has the control when it's only a superficial control. We are responsible for our environment, but you shouldn't blame yourself for this mess alone.

We're all slaves. Mostly to ourselves.

Agreed. Myself can be pretty strict...

I think that organization determines the power. They have the power because they're organized with a common mindset. The Occupy movement doesn't have any idea what it wants and because of that it has no power.

That may be completely true, but the overlords on wallstreet still started to sweat. I'm all for rebellion and I agree that we need to get a lot more organized before we'll be able to really change things. But I'm still proud that people are fighting back and speaking out.

Somehow I doubt that OWS is really making anyone sweat. They still have all the power and they know they're not about to lose it because a bunch of angry, aimless people decided to go camping on their street. : P

I'm sure it was a shocker at first, but then the un-led enthusiasm and lack of organization made it die off. All I'm saying is that speaking up helps. I appreciate it at least. I like knowing I'm not alone in thinking everyone on top is scum.

Speaking up is nice, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it "helpful". : P

It gets the word out. It makes people who usually wouldn't, aware of these things. It makes people think about the situation they're in, and then self-reflection occurs, which make people less assholes and more thinkers.

The philosopher, Thomas Adorone would definitely disagree with you on that one. Now I only agree with about 50% of what he has to say, but he makes a wonderful point on mass culture, and how the country (and most of the rest of the world) is ruled by a small few. I see evidence of congress attempting to pass certain laws behind our backs. How they use a double standard in just about everything, the "weed" laws for example. They almost made it completely illegal in (at least the state of Michigan) the U.S. for dispenseraries to sell weed to people, basing this on the fact they don't want people to make a profit. Now I can understand their reason, that is until I look at corporate drug companies who make billions off "medicine" that kills people. Then not to mention all the media we're spammed with night and day. You can say that you can simply ignore this, but you can't tell me you don't see the endless amount of "sheepeople" who give in to it.
