"Alright, I'll stop the askin'," chased laughed heartily. "Same with you traveler," he replied, putting his hand out to shake hers firmly. "Lahmear's light to ya path and remember what I told ya about the maker of that painting. Don't want ta see a lass like yourself come upon on of them canvases now," he said as he opened the door for her.
They had never run into someone who was the direct decedent of one of the paintings before. That was something new to them and spoke of unpredictable possibilities as to how it occurred. To them it also made her a target for whomever it was they were looking for.

"Same to you Chace." She smiled and then left the place heading down the street. North and East. With winter bearing down she would need to see if she could get a long term job in one of the towns or villages there. But she hadn't had trouble with that yet.

Chace watched Bri'geet long enough to see her disappear around the bend before he shut the door behind him. He looked at the painting still sitting on the chair, the portrait of the long-dead woman staring eerily at the opposite wall.
"Real thing alright," he muttered, before looking serious and shouting to the other room. Soon enough another man looking a few years older than him came out and looked at him as if he'd insulted his mother.
"Do you have to always shout like the morning rooster?" the taller man asked. His eyes caught sight of the painting. "Is it?" he asked.
"Yup," Chance answered, ignoring all the complaining about him yelling. "She got it from Otiian alright. She also did not want to talk about the fellow she walked back with. Get anything on him yet, Jager?"
"Too close of quarters. Wouldn't dare." Jager stepped closer to the painting. "If not a Blind and we were to get into a tangle, it would be a mess inside that building. Outside is something else."
Chance thought about their options and looked back at the door. "Go follow the lady a ways and make sure she gets outta the city alright. We've still got light to figure somethin' out yet..."
((The end... for now. heehee))
