Alright, here are some of my suggestions on thing to help the guild.
If their already set up, please forgive the mention of them, I’m just throwing out ideas.
For a discussion guild,_____1. You need a eye catching snazzy front page. Something that will catch a persons attention and make them want to join this guild.
2. You need a cool catch phrase. [For examples B u r n :: The everything guild, or Its just better here. (I don‘t quite remember where I got the second though when I remember I‘ll put it up. Though these are already guilds. SO you can‘t use them) To just use them as examples.]
3. You need a banner, suggested with the name, and the short catch phrase.
4. You need to work on the sub forums, and front forums, make each about a specific topic set ground rules on how to compose your posts and stuff for those that want to post in those topics.
For example:Movies
TV
Music
Life
Gaia Life
Art
Shops
Sports
Games
Love
Role Play
Etc…Just as an example.5. You need a good crew, people assigned to each sub forum, and advertisers, and Artist, among others. As well as a good system set up on punishments for people that go against the rules and such.
6. You need a mule, something for donations, donations are good to the guilds main account for when your sending a lot of announcements off to a lot of members or setting up a lot of sub forums, but after that, it just keeps building and build and you end up with a lot of gold with nothing to do with it. So mules are great.
7. You need to come up with some sort of contest, to draw people in to start with. Normally gold, or rare items will do this. Like a RP Contest, Art Contest, Writing Contest, or Posting Contest. But contests are always good for getting members.
8. Find other guilds that are willing to affiliate with you [I’d love to affiliate with my guilds if you want, even my art shop] for extra advertisings.
9. Make a good join request thing for the Gaia forums.
10. Keep the guild clean, and as smooth running as you can. Update the front page and Banner as much as you can for newer, and better ones. [Though every week or so is a lot, about every other month is probably a good time.]
