my scots ancestors prescribe a mixture of cracked wheat (in liquid, as a cereal) with whiskey and honey.

Fortunately I don't have a runny nose! It's really strange - usually I get a sore throat, then a runny nose, THEN a cough. This has just launched into a full blown cough, but it's the worst cough I've had in a couple of years...
@chessie - I don't think there's any whiskey in the house, otherwise I would try it!

When I'm sick, it's usually runny nose - sore throat - cough, but right now, I have what is likely a flu brought on by stress from finals week. High fever started after my last final yesterday (luckily), and I've been in bed since. xP

if you can find rosehips any time of the year, grab a bunch! dry them out, make some tea out of them and add honey. 3nodding it's incredibly healthy! you can usually beat off a cold with that tea in a day or two if you're drinking it a lot.
