First it said that Jesus put Peter in charge of the church. Second because without any power in that time the word of god would have not spread as it did. In that time people needed someone to say he is in power because if not the church would seam weak in that time. Also he is still around today because god cannot address everything that was going to happen because people would not understand if he did not.

Uh, no. There was no power associated with the church in the Peter's time. For the first couple hundred years of Christianity you were killed and discriminated against if you were a christian. Christianity spread like it did because of the power of God, not the power of man. All of the apostles were martyred, that is not what happens to someone who has power. The early church leaders were power less against the Romans. It wasn't until later that people realized that Christianity cannot be dissolved. Only then did people embrace it. Of course then that led to Templars trying to take back the "Holy land" from the Muslims. Jesus taught humility, not power. This is the most blasphemous and contradictory statement one can make.

...I said god could not do something because of human flaw/nature...The fact that we could not understand. God could explain but us as humans make it impossible for god to get his point across.

to get past all human flaw, God came himself as a contradiction "A Flawless and Perfect Human." Making Jesus the only person that can be truly trusted beyond all doubt. The phrase "God cannot" only shows that you do not believe that God is infinite.
(Also a little bit of a side-note. I seem to be writing paragraphs explaining multiple points, while you are writing sentences attempting to explain just one point)

The problem of having a man interpret the word of God is that man is errant, and fallible. While God is both inerrant and infallible. And unholy man will interpret holy God's will in such a way to fit his own beliefs

To continue off what you were saying Thomas.
A holy man is the only one who can be trusted to hear and record the will of God. And the confirmation of a holy man is the ability to preform miracles.
And i just gotta ask Ginger, you sound pretty sure of yourself for a person that doesn't even know all of what he's defending. Unless you fully know and understand something, you should accept the fact that you might be wrong. I never open my mouth without accepting that fact. Lucky for me God has blessed me with the gift of wisdom and by simply talking about a topic, I will learn more about it. Which is actually why i like debating with intelligent people, like you guys for example. And wow did i get sidetracked. I digress, accepting human limitations can lead to knowledge, and that includes your own.

starry night-163 Well I'm not very good at helping people with anything but I'm going to try. Well I'm catholic but I noticed some things about my religion not to long ago(last week xd ) that I don't like, for instance we pray to saints but I find that to be wrong because the bible says God wants us to pray to him and no one else because all the glory belongs to God and no one else which is true and I want to make God happy. One. Yes, it is entirely possible to convert to Catholicism. I should know, I did it. Two. Regarding praying to the Saints, you are misinformed. Don't feel bad, many are. One caveat though, IMO, you shouldn't 'change religions' and indeed you really cannot, if you don't know what you are converting to. In other words, you can't dis/believe what you don't know. So find out. Make sure that you are truly done with where you are, and know where you are heading before you leave. If you don't know where you are going, how will you get there, or know if you arrive? Make sure you understand your current Church before popping smoke. God bless, but "Everybody else is doing it." Is rarely a wise move. See "The Third Reich" for an example.(^3)-|- http://www.catholic.com/library/Praying_to_the_Saints.asp

marieaskelinton yes you canchange it, but catholic is worshiping mary. in the ten comandments it say thou shall not worship any other gods and worthshiping his mother is worshiping another god. *sigh* Catholics do not WORSHIP Mary... Do I really have to explain this again...there is another thread with this conversation in it... Catholics follow the same God of the Protestant... but Catholics teach a work based salvation instead of a faith based salvation... they also pray to the saints and to Mary.. Taking the words out of a Catholics Mouth "We pray to them to talk to God on our behalf" To me this is not the way to do it and its wrong yes but this is not Worship of Mary or the Saints

Esperanza Cielo Gonzales I was raised evangelist, but over the years I have grown closer to my Mexican side of the family, which are Catholic. Can I change from evangelist to catholic? well I'm catholic as well and I love my religion but if you want to be catholic that is fine. I'm pretty sure that evangelist and catholicism are pretty similar on basic levels. I'm no expert on the evangelist faith though. but whether or not you convert as long as you live a good life with good morals than I don't think that God would hate you for staying the faith that you are now or if converted to Catholicism.
