*People are always scarred of what is different*

Luc never got to meet Chris' mother however. Eliza was teaching him important things all young boys should know. The only thing Luc ever learned from her however was the fact she had a petrifying fear of scorpions and it was rather humous if you stick them in her pants when she wasn't paying attention.

Chris' mother past away in her sleep a week after Luc arrived. Chris hardly ever left his study after that, leaving Eliza to watch Luc constantly. The workers at the mansion often talked about the death, mostly about the fact she died a week after Luc arrived. When ever Luc was around they would hush to whispers, but it didn't matter. He knew what they were talking about and he knew they were scarred of him. After all he was different then them and people were always scarred of what is different.

When ever he got away from Eliza he would start stalking one of the maids or butlers just to freak them out. Eliza always caught him though. She would scold him and make him apologize. He would but than he would mutter under his breath something like 'next time you won't be so luck'.

This attitude toward the workers at the mansion went on for months. Finally Eliza took him aside to talk to him.

"Luc I know you aren't really a bad kid but you have to stop harassing everyone. You're going to cause everyone to quit." Eliza told him gently. She looked at him sympathetically. "I understand what you're going threw."

Luc stared at her with his silver eyes. "Oh yes you understand perfectly well what I am going threw don't you? Everyone goes around whispering about you when they think you can't possible hear what they are saying. Or the fact that you are a monster that everyone hates. Yes you understand how I feel perfectly," he yelled. Eliza stepped away from him, shocked by him raising his voice. This was the first time he had ever lost his temper. He wanted you yell more but he felt a hand on his shoulder. Quickly he turned around and saw Chris standing there.

"Luc I think you've yelled enough. Now why don't you come with me. I've been a poor father to you and I would like to make it up to you." Chris said giving Luc a weak smile. Luc stared at him, unsure what he should do. He decided to follow Chris. They went to his study and Chris sat down in a chair. Luc stood up wanting to be able to look at Chris directly in the face.

"What did you want to talk about?" Luc asked, trying to keep his composer.

"Luc, I've heard what the staff has been saying about you. I have decided that it would be best if they were laid off and I get a new set of staff, ones that would not talk ill of you." Chris explained. Luc could see he was trying to be help him.

"Oh thank you daddy. Obviously I couldn't handle the situation myself," he responded.

Chris let out a soft sigh. "Luc I would like you to go with me tomorrow. I am buying some art work for the house and the artist I hired have two kids around your age. I think it would be good for you to meet some kids around your age."

Luc looked disgusted by the idea. "Do you want to see how much they'll make fun of me? If you haven't noticed I am a bit different than normal kids or are you so ignorant?" Luc said in an angry tone. "If you are a little different people will tease you. There is no way someone like you could ever understand what it is like."

"You're right I don't understand. That is why I want you to meet these kids. Neither of them are what I would call normal. One has wings and the other looks like an elf. I think you will fit in perfectly with them." Chris said.

"Fine I will go with you, but I doubt I will like them," he stormed off to his bedroom.
