He looked down again for a moment, then out in the wilderness. He stared long and hard at the darkened trail ahead and still wondered what the smart thing to do would be. Granted he wasn't tired, and he could stay up easily for another 24 hours, but he knew the comforts of a bed would be more worth the trouble. It was a tough decision. One that he wish he didn't have to make. At least not by himself
He pulled out the device, frantically typed and held it back behind him so she could take it and read the message that said: Your call. I'll follow whatever decision you make

Leanding forward to read the message instead of taking it, Kay pondered for a moment. A bed did sound really nice, and it just seemed so unlikely that Hoshi would still be around if he had indeed been shot. "You know....maybe we should head back; so we're not stuck out here all night...the fire could run out before morning."
She didn't want to chance that, for if the had light now and took the chance it was still much safer than the possibility of having none.

He put the device back around his wrist ad cleared the message before closing it. He wasn't about to argue that he could have tended to the fire, so instead he just grabbed his mask, quickly put it over his face once more, followed by the visor. It was her decision that he had let her make, so no reason to second guess it.
He stood and brushed any dirt from his pants before securing his equipment, then waited for the vixen to lead

Watching him pack up and make sure his equpitment was in order, Kay stood slowly as she felt her stomach grumble irritably. Not now, you. She hissed mentally, at least the effects of the poision was wearing off enough that she felt like it. Spotting that he was waiting she figured that was a good indication that she was to lead, looking out into the darkness beyond the fore and took a deep breath.
She began to walk, heading down the trail as her eyes quickly adjusted to the dark thanks to the newfound moonlight. Her ears kept alert for any signs of Hoshi or anything else lurking around in the dark besides she and Snake.

As he turned, he whipped out a small flashlight that he wish he had remembered before. If anything, it would attempt to illuminate the area ahead. If hoshi attach, it would almost be useless against him. The batteries weren't as strong as they should be, but he couldn't complain. At leas the thing worked

The night was indeed quiet as they made their way back towards the shop, the moon and the flashlight offering a slight safe haven during the stroll. There were no signs or indications Hoshi would return as the forest sang its quiet song of crickets and the occasional distant call from an animal.
Kay's eyes were tired, as her stomach longed for a snack and sleep. None the less she continued in the comfortable silence - at least for her, for she couldn't speak for her silent companion beside her.
It wasn't more than an hour before the shop came into view, and soon her paws were back on the solid porch under the bright back light. Turning back around, she wasn't sure what Snake's plans were; but she knew she had burdened him enough in the past few days than anyone needed to put up with. "Well....I think its well past time I get some quality sleep without passing out to do so.....I assume this is goodbye; for now, at least." The vixen smiled, pushing the hair out of her eyes. "Thank you for everything, Snake..."

He hardly knew that the time had flown by. He had let his mind wander haplessly and without restraint. He wondered about many things, mainly how his old companions were doing, trying to stray his thoughts from a certain someone. Fortunately before he could stumble further, he sees the shop ahead, and notices that she is biding her farewell. He took a bow, and waited for her to turn her back before vanishing into the forest as he was so good at doing

Turning around only for a moment to open the door, the vixen turned around to see he was already gone well into the night; the smile not leaving her lips as she could only chuckle. "Stay safe..." She breathed, before heading into the shop and shutting the door behind her.
