twilight_is_for_idiots The song 'Escape' by that Enrique guy is about stalking too. O_o Which leads me to ask myself why would people write songs like this in the first place.

People think stalking is "showing admiration"... AND...
Is a pretty bad way of saying "I love you... but I won't go near you"
Srsly, when you get stalked from afar, it's almost like the dude stares cause there's something wrong with you!

I've never been stalked, or have stalked anyone before, but my opinion still stands strong. Stalkers should never be given a second chance, and you certaintly should never fall in love with anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable. No-one should ever feel comfortable with a stalker.

The Green Day song 'Poprocks and Coke' is about stalking too. "I don't care if you don't mind, I'll be there not far behind, I will dare keep in mind, I'll be there for you." They're still a good band though.

She Promised You Cookies I was listening the the song "Every Breath You Take" by The Police, but this was the first time I ACTUALLY listened to it. "Every breath you take and every move you make, every bond you break, every step you take, I'll be watching you..." At first, I thought, "This is a song about a stalker! It's not a good love song. How can people confuse this with love?" Then I thought about Twilight. Of course, lots of people who do read Twilight confuse the idea of love and stalkers, so if they were to listen to the song, would they think that the song's foolishly about love, just like the book? And if they don't, then how would they react to being told that Twilight is the same thing? And I also have to ask, is there anything else in the media which equates stalking with love that you have found? These are all just questions I felt like asking the guild. (Plus I'm not too sure whether this should be in the chatterbox section or not. Help me out crew?)EDIT: This topic was posted twice, my fault. I clicked "Resend" by mistake. Well, I didn't know I shouldn't click "Resend" and instead "Cancel". Well, now I know, so sorry for that.I could've sworn that Smeyer has that on her "book" playlists on the website, but I could be wrong (I have not been on that website in a couple of years). But if it was/is I think that would be an example of a "fan" who thinks that song is romantic... I mean, why else would Smeyer include it if she knows it's a stalker song? Seems like if she knew she'd be admitting Edward is a pretty big stalker...

Well that song I believe you took a little too...literally. The songs is talking about someone important in your life that died and they're still watching over you.
