geo serenity Leitis Miss.Psyche I like to read Greek and Roman myths. I've taken a few classes at university as well! Dean Koontz, Roald Dahl, Neil Gaiman and Lemony Snickett are a few of my favorite authors. biggrin I adore myths. X3 I prefer Egyptian and Norse myths but Greek/Roman ones are fun to read as well. Dean Koontz actually graduated from the university I'm currently attending...first published here too, I believe. One of his former teachers told my mum that he was a terrible English student. Go figure. XD speaking as an internatinal gaia member, i'd like to say who is dean koontz? He is an American writer mostly known for his suspense thrillers but he also writes in several other genres including sci-fi and mystery. I've never actually read any of his works because I strongly dislike thrillers/horror novels. D:

For the Rose is a Beautiful FlowerFavorite? I don't know if I could pick just one, though I would say the Discworld series might qualify, the Neverending story is awesome too though. (the movie doesn't even qualify as a pale imitation) A Beautiful Flower with Thorns An Adventurer is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when the plot requires him to.

Discworld is a great series! Even the movies (or would they be considered miniseries? o.O) are fantastic. You may want to check out the Xanth series by Piers Anthony if you haven't already. Discworld and Xanth are very similar. XD

The first few are enjoyable but they degenerate into excuses to use puns. That is true...I honestly haven't read a Xanth book in years but I remember them to be funny. Granted, reading a bunch in the row grew tiresome but that happens with any series of books for me. XD

Dean Koontz isn't all horror really. I realize it was mentioned he was thriller/horror but he has a few books detailing the adventures of Odd Thomas, a fry cook who can see ghosts. I know that sounds very silly, but it's a very witty character.
I really don't like the hard core horror stuff, has anyone read Audrey Rose by the way? That book freaked me out.

I can't choose a favorite novel, but historical fiction is my favorite genre. I especially enjoy stories set in the Middle Ages. Toss in some mystery and a hint of the supernatural, and I can read nearly non-stop for days at a time.
