As a big Ouran fan (It's my favorite anime/manga because it's consistantly hilarious), I can say the two are NOTHING alike.
Haruhi is a tomboy who just doesn't give a s**t about her appearence. She wears what she thinks is comfortable and practicle. She has A cup boobs which explains why she's mistaken for a boy. She hates the rich lifestyle because it's so lavish and over-the-top. The only reason she went to Ouran in the first place is because it's a good school and she wanted to have a good career later on in life. Unlike Bella, Haruhi can fend for herself. She's been doing that for about 10 years because her mom died and her dad is always working.
Tamaki is a drama king who is obsessed with Japanese culture because he was raised in france and is only half japanese. He only came to Japan so he could one-day take over his father's bussiness. He goes into a litteral emo corner (seriously. he goes into a corner that has no light what-so-ever despite the ENTIRE ROOM being well lit) whenever is ego gets bruised.

Nothing like Twilight
Trust me
It's different it has to do more about her little trials in paying back a debt to the Host Club and the characters, you'd have to watch to understand, are like that in like the first episode (or maybe two) but the character development happens rapidly and they change exponentially.

AWW DARNS ! Never thought about Ouran being like Twilight, but now that I think straight, they're so similar it's not even SCARY.
It's kinda messed up.
But of course, Haruhi-chi is so much smarter and cooler and shorter and TAMAKI IS NOT STRONG AT ALL. HE'S LIKE, A WIMP. So no, Ouran is NOT - not not not not not - like Twilight.
