I love seals and every other animal on this planet becuase you know what, their adorable and life without them just wouldnt be worth it so when they cant stand up for them selves its up to people like us to help them.

I don't trust Facebook, so I haven't clicked the link. However, I'm going to be a sort of devils advocate here and say that killing is sometimes ok, like for food and stuff. Of course, I do NOT condone killing baby seals, or clubbing them to death. I just think that if you ARE going to kill an animal, you should have a good reason for doing so, (like say, starving or needing warm clothes?) and do it in the most humane way possible. (A gunshot to the head, say. Quick and hopefully painless.) Yes, they're cute, and if you don't NEED to kill them, then DON"T. Oh, and a sanctuary isn't a bad idea, either. I'm just saying, don't go bashing the Inuit because seal happens to be part of their diet. I don't know for sure that it is, but thats the point I'm trying to make. Oh, and survivors who desperately need to do so to stay alive. I agree, no SENSLESS killing, or abuse, should be tolerated. But I'm against an all out ban.

The MASSACRE of seals condoned by the Canadian governemnt every year is horrendous and the fact that their is no sea ice forming on their birthing gounds along with the fact that their prey is declining will cause major declines in their population.
Also the inuit are not the ones killing them, its just random Canadians going around with clubs etc bashing in the heads of seals to make a profit stare

That is indeed unforgivable. Living here in the States, I'm used to Animal Rights Activists going WAAAYYY too far, but this sounds like the kind of thing I would support banning. I think hunting seals should fall under the same kinds of guidelines as fishing. The seals must be a certain size or age, no females, and maybe a limit on how many you're allowed to catch. Like I said, I DON'T condone clubbing baby seals. I just don't support the kinds of measures I KNOW the A.R.A's I mentioned before would push for. I tired to ease into this with only the most extreme situations inn my last post, because I didn't quite know what the topic of discussion was. ((I didn't click the link because I have a MASSIVE distrust of Facebook. I'm also wary of Youtube, though I'll watch a video if its directly linked. I just won't search on it for anything.)) But yeah, stop the rampant abuse and regulate the industry some. Not really sure its an "industry" but the point remains.

People are cruel and don't care about other creatures as long as they get money and their needs taken care of. Humans can be so sick and disgusting. I would never be able to hurt another living creature; I can't even kill insects.
