The temporarily forgotten bottle of sake was again raised to the slightly intoxicated feline's lips, quickly followed by the declaration "this calls for a drink!" She then moved as if to offer the bottle to Takako, but before completing the motion her foggy mind realized that this wouldn't be the best decision, and instead the stopper was replaced with a flourish, and the bottle tucked under her arm, as if she'd meant to do that all along.
"Upset? Why would I be upset? You've found a man that makes you happy, and you're going to be a mother," Matsumoto declared with a nod and a grin. "I've only accomplished one of those two things, and I can tell you that being a mother is nothing to be upset about. As for the other thing..." There was a pause, as if she thought better of the coming statement, and a shrug. "Your father's an old grump, don't mind him."

“I’m not upset about being a mother nor being a wife..” Takako laughed some at the last bit, pulling her captains coat tighter around her and smiled some. Her dad was a bit of a grumpy grouch she did have to admit but she knew he cared and showed emotion in his own, less subtle way then the rest of the family. “Yeah, he kinda is but I don’t mind so much… I mean, I want to get married but I’ll be willing to wait until he approves.”
When would he approve? She had no idea… she was finding it hard to wait until he would say yes. All she wanted to do at the moment is to be a mom and a wife, was that to much to ask. “I-I’m just happy that you approve, as does Lance’s father~ father and his mother not so much..” She laughed slightly and blushed some, finding it kinda funny.

"Psh," the lieutenant scoffed, waving the hand that wasn't cradling the sake bottle in the air. "I'll have a word with your father, if I can manage to track him down... I haven't seen him in ages." One of the last things she felt like doing was confronting the grumpy captain who she'd had an accidental drunken tryst with. She wasn't about to let him mess up the happiness of one of the unexpected children that had come from it, though. "What about Rukia, is she on your side? She might be able to help convince him, he's always had a soft spot for her."
With a snap of her fingers, Matsumoto went on to exclaim, "oh! And I will, of course, need to meet this boy of yours before I can go fight on your behalf." With a grin, she nudged her daughter with an elbow. "Got to make sure he's worthy."

“Aunt Rukia? Yeah, she’s on our side..” In truth, her aunt has walked in on some pretty compromising situations that if her father walked into, she probably would not be pregnant with her children. “So is Arisu so that makes it a bit easier when dealing with father.” Takako laughed some at her mothers reactions and watched her with curious eyes. “You’re crazy mom, you know that?” She asked and held out her hand for the sake bottle, cutting off her mom from alcohol.
“You want to meet Lance?” The fox asked again with a weird looking expression, knowing that she had to meet him eventually but shouldn’t she meet him when she’s sober?

"Now, now, good daughters don't cut off their mothers' flow of alcohol. You'll understand soon," the redhead said with a grin, as she swatted gently at the hand reaching for her bottle. "Having those two on your side should eventually sway your father to see things your way. They both have rather a lot of pull with them, hmm?" At least, she was assuming that Arisu must, from the way Takako had spoken of her. Truth be told she hadn't seen her any more than she had seen her other children, Katashi aside. "How is Arisu, anyway?"
Foggy though her brain might be at the moment, Matsumoto managed to catch her daughter's strained look at the suggestion of meeting her husband-to-be. "Of course I want to meet him," she replied with a nod, but continued, "I guess we should put that off for tomorrow though, eh?"

Takako gave her mother a weird look and shook her head, how would she understand soon? She never planned to drink unless it was some wine from Lance’s family’s vineyard and even then it wouldn’t be a lot. “I’ll understand soon? No way! I don’t like drinking that stuff..” she scrunched up her face and stuck out her tongue, trying to get the point across while pulling her hand back and rubbing it lightly while trying not to admit her mom made the flesh sting a little. “Arisu? Oh she’s good! She doesn’t want to be a shinigami and avoids father as much as she possibly can… he’s not to happy about her lack of interest in what we do.”
She shrugged her shoulders and perked her ears up at her mothers statement, maybe her mother wasn’t as drunk as she first thought. “That would be a good idea, mom.” The girl laughed and shook her head, scratching her arm.

The older Shinigami feigned an appalled look at her daughter's disdain for alcohol. "Well, I guess you didn't inherit much from me except for these, eh?" With a grin, she gestured to Takako's generously sized breasts. "Oh well, can't be helped, I suppose..." With an overly dramatic sigh, she gave the fox a pat on the arm.
"Not a Shinigami? Hmm, that's a bit disappointing, but it's her life and she's free to do what she wants with it. I should check up on her too soon..." Deep down, she felt a pang of guilt for having been such an absent mother. It was easy to tell herself that her job as a lieutenant kept her too busy, but she had been running away from the additional responsibility more than anything else. And now she had gone and missed their entire childhoods...
Casting the thought from her mind, she leaped to her feet with a flourish, tucking the sake bottle firmly under one arm. "I'd better get some rest then, I reckon." A hiccup punctuated her statement.

Takako put her hands on her hips and huffed, never really understanding the concept of drinking alcohol or getting drunk. But, she shrugged it off and sighed lightly with a small smile and figured it would be just like her mom to say something like that. “How do you fight with a chest so big!? It’s so hard sometimes and then being afraid of my obi breaking…” She laughed slightly and subconsciously pulled her captains coat closer to her.
“Arisu’s the spitting image of you mom, she won’t be hard to miss.” The fox grinned some, Arisu was nearly the spitting image of the feline in front of her… in truth, the fox had no idea who she looked like. Maybe some strange hybrid threw together or something? Knowing her brother looked more like her father as well… only proving she was a hybrid in the family.
She chucked lightly and perked her ears up at her moms statement, “Do you need help getting to your room, mom? You don’t seem very balanced.”

Matsumoto took a moment to ponder her daughter's question - How did she manage to fight properly with such a big chest? After coming up with very little reasonable explanation, she just shrugged and said with a grin, "I guess I don't worry as much as you about them coming out of my robes." She never had been one for modesty, really. Another trait she hadn't passed on to Takako, she supposed. Well, that might be for the best.
"Really?" She felt a slight tug in her chest at the thought of one of her daughters looking just like her. "I've got such beautiful daughters," she exclaimed as she threw herself into a sloppy hug with the one she could currently reach. "And yes," her voice was slightly muffled as her face was buried in Takako's robe, "I think I could use a hand."

“Oh I’m not worried really but it gets rather bothersome sometimes around the house, shopping or at work.” The vixen smirked lightly at how everyone reacted but sighed when remembering that both Lance’s grandparents and mother thought she belonged to a brothel with what she was wearing. Takako shook her head and watched her mother again, “Not being worried isn’t a bad thing I suppose..”
“Mhm~ she has the same bright hair as you and a pink scarf along with a pretty reveling outfit that makes boys want to oodle her goo-” Her words were cut off by her moms sudden lunge forward, using all the strength she had to catch her seemingly drunk mother and wondering if maybe being a grandma would curb that habit just a bit? “Okay, you’ll have to lead me there since I don’t know the way.” She laughed and kissed her mom on the cheek, always wanting to do that.
