Hey guys. I am so disgusted with myself that I have trouble writing this, but I'll try. So basically, my most dangerous stumbling block is the nude female body (The stuff you would find on femjoy.com) Time and time again I have repented and promised to reform from such immorality only to stumble again a month later or so, spending hours viewing nude galleries. After stumbling in such a way, I swell with self hatred and self disappointment. I get thoughts of killing myself, and relish in thoughts of someone else (e.g. an assassin, terrorist, etc.) killing me. I have stumbled this morning, and I am hating myself for it. The only thing that keeps me from killing myself is the knowledge that people who commit suicide go to H*ll
(Go to http://www.gotquestions.org/suicide-Bible-Christian.html)
So my question is: Is the desire to kill oneself immediately after stumbling in their walk with Christ common among us Christians cry , or is it just me being ridiculous? stare

You are feeling guilty because you know what you have done is wrong and the enemy is taking that and using it towards their advantage. God would never want you to kill youself for it is against his nature. Also commiting suicide isn't going to send anyone to Hell unless they aren't saved. For suicide is killing and killing is a sin but sin can't take away your salvation. If that were the case then no one would get to heaven. Ephesians 2:8 says "For by grace you have been saved, through faith - and not of yourselves, it is a gift of God". If God were to take away that gift then it would no longer be considered a gift. Also we all sin and stumble in our lifetimes it's what makes us human. It's when we go to God ask for forgiveness and repent, which means to turn back and not try to do it again, that makes us different from the rest of the world. Well one of the many things that makes us different. Just be aware the Bible says in Ezekiel 3:20 “If righteous people turn away from their righteous behavior and ignore the obstacles I put in their way, they will die." So if you keep ignoring the signs he's putting up he will take your life so that you will not be a stumbling block to others.

Brother, while I can't comment on the idea of killing oneself I can tell you that you are not the only Christian who stumbles with this specific issue.

From the time I was in 7th grade to now I've struggled with it. Every night is a fight for me. Every night I've fought with myself with this issue. God has given me victory in several times and several times I have fallen. No matter what though know that God loves you, and that the guilt and disgust you feel is Satan using his power to make you feel that guilt.

Remember that God loves you and the moment you repent he'll accept you back into his arms. This struggle can be defeated. Just remember Gods love for you.

Edited: While it is important to name your struggle to find those to help you through it, I don't think its necessary you tell us the site... it may actually prove to be a stumbling block to others having that site up here so it may be more beneficial to yourself and others to just simply name your struggle (just a suggestion)

So I'm not crazy. Thats good to know. lol However, I feel guilty because I know I have transgressed the conditions of repentance (A rejection of sin, and a promise never to do it again), and I believe that this guilt is self made. If I didn't feel guilt, I wouldn't be compelled against my behavior (http://ijo.sagepub.com/cgi/content/abstract/31/1/71
http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/679474/jewish/Is-Guilt-Good.htm
http://jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/9161.htm ). The guilt can be constructive [Not that guilt has been working for me positively. It seems I am suffering from bad guilt]. However, guilt alone has not worked for me, and I have to seek out other anti-temptation venues.

I do however, think I have found a solution. I can distract myself from temptation when it arises by giving myself something else to do (e.g Video game, drawing, or even MMO's) While these things are not necessarily constructive, they are things that I like, and I won't be sinning, which is what matters. smile

P.S. Good suggestion you made at the end. That was so stupid of me to list the site. I never thought of that.

the best way to distract yourself from temptation is to focus on God. every time you feel tempted, crack open the bible, or start praying. at first it may be hard to focus on that, but after a while it becomes second nature.

Hey I'm praying for you bro.

You're not being rdiculous. I'm sure everyone experienced guilt [like me] and thought of committing suicide [also like me emo ]look don't sweat. Pray at night and repent.

And know that He forgets your sins. And believe Him and FIGHT (even though it's hard) the temptation. And repeat and proclaim : :My God Still Loves Me, He can And will forgive Me."

I often feel guilty because at times I feel that I put more into worldly things rather than god myself. But I have always been told that those feelings of guilt are just the devil trying tell convince us that we are beyond god's help and unforgivable. Which could lead to something like suicide when you are to a point where you are hopeless in life and god where in suicide the devil would win another soul from god's hand.
All god wants us to do in this situation is ask for forgiveness for what you have done, tell god about everything as I try to talk to him as a ultimate best friend and ask him to help you remove that temptation from you. It is always a long battle as once we get into something like this it can be hard but if we have god it will happen in time. It's just like anything else in life that you need god with like for me talking like this feels hard because I always look at these things and think all these people seem to know just what to say but somehow I go out on a limb to post anyway without being afraid of looking dumb. No matter what the situation god will always help you though even if it does not seem that way. Never give in to the devil have hope in god.

Perhaps your problem is self control. If you know every time you get on the computer you are going to struggle with the temptation, turn off the computer. As for distracting yourself with videogames, and such, know that you are simply trading one addiction for another. Temptation in itself is not a sin, it is acting on it that is sinful. If you find yourself tempted to lust, turn off the computer, and pray for your wife to be, I have found that works immensely when dealing with that certain temptation.

First I would like to say, no one goes to H*ll. Only demons do, of which you are not. And a weakness, can be a good sign, God is trying to tell you this. "Speak to me, I need your help. Thus I get your attention."
He works in strange ways doesn't he?
So if you find yourself in trouble ask God, "What do you need me for?"

Not exactly, if a person does not except Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they will, unfortunately go to Hell.
