In order of most favorite to least favorite:
1.) Kratos 2.) Dirk 3.) Raine 4.) Sheena 5.) Lloyd 6.) Regal 7.) Presea 8.) Genis 9.) Yuan 10.) Zelos
You will notice that Collette is not even on the list. This is because she is an irritating and obnoxiously perfect Mary-Sue. I'm sorry, but being clumsy is not a character flaw. I liked her when she was a souless doll, but now that she's back to normal... *groan* I just want her to shut-up and stop apologizing all the freakin' time! Gawd! She's like another Honda Touru (from Fruits Basket), and that's not a complement.

xD I have a friend who is just like Collete. Just the other day she came over. I decited to make some tea with the instant hot and she put her finger under the water. Why would someone do that when they see steam comming off of the bottom of the sink? Oh and Kratos is your favorite? I didn't feel like I "knew" him well enough to really like him...

Its because he never talks unless necessary. He's not a loud-mouth like allot of the other characters. He's calm and reserved, keeps his own council and doesn't fill the air with senseless babble.
That's why I like him and its also probably why you feel you didn't get to know him all that well in the game.
Also, I think he and Raine complement each other well. I know its not cannon, but if I were to have an OTP for the game, it would be them.

I suppose I never looked at Kratos that way before. I hated the second game where they tried Regal/ Raine. It just killed anything that went on between Raine and Kratos. By the way, did you kill off Zelos or keep him?

I haven't actually completed the game yet. I'm still only on the first disc. But I never use Zelos, so if there's a place where I have to kill someone, it probably will be him (I'm assuming Collette is not a killable option).

Its hard to notice, but it's there. And sadly no, Collete needs to stay alive. You'll see why, but keep in mind that the second game is trash. The only reason I bought it was to see why things are going crazy again.

This game is so long, I'm not sure if I'll play the second.

If I were you, I would look up a overview. By any chance, did you play Tales of Phantasia? It takes place 2000 years after Tales of Symphonia.

Nope. Symphonia is the only Tales game I've played so far.
