Strawberry Shortcake redo made me so sad when I first saw it.
sad They gave them *boyfriends*. I used to love that s**t, same with My Little Pony. Have you seen the
Dora the explorerupdate as well? Tampering with images isn't so much restricted to old classics. It'll get any decade. D: Hell, even the
Sunmaid Raisin logo woman got a sexy make-over.
What gets me is that from I've seen, the revamps of the "boy" shows don't receive the same treatment. Ninja turtles all that happened was they stopped talking about pizza as much, and focused on the fights and battles more. Transformers got it's own blockbuster movie. On the other hand though, the girl shows were matured from a little kid phase to a tween stage where the characters are developing love interests, or more feminine bodies. That too, the original rainbow brite could easily be changed to look more masculine (ie pants, haircut, whatever) but the newer one seems to have more definite girl shapes and facial features going on. Though, maybe there are some extreme changes to the rebooted "boy" shows but I haven't noticed them as much/become aware.
