She waited in the air, ignoring the fact that it is clearly not hard to eat in the rain...things just don't taste the same, but for the sake of avoiding an argument, she kept her tongue still

Neely chuckled. "I'm coming." he spread his wings and then leapt into the air pumping them quickly before catching a thermal and slowly circling up to building level. He then turned towards a nearby corner store and slipped in to grab a few things before coming back out and flying out to the hill just outside of town.
"Nice?" he asked looking over at her as he landed and set down the bags from the store.

She landed nearby and looked at the horizon, half expecting a storm cloud or two, but the rising sun illuminated everything, and no cloud could be seen. She stared at it for a while, hoping she'd see something, but gave up. Then Neely landed next to her with several bags. She glanced over, but was uninterested in snacks.
"I suppose" she said with a feigned smile. She could care less about the sun

Neely set everything in a shady spot under a tree and looked around. He didn't want to doubt Inibi, but the sky was still clear and the day looked perfect. He moved closer to her and sat down curling his tail around himself.
"Well...uh...hmm.." he trailed off at a loss of what to say to her.

She glanced over and stared at him for a while. She really felt no emotion towards him, other than just cheerfulness. But she had never truly felt any other kind of emotion. It made her wonder if she was capable. She pondered for a moment
"Say something mean. I want to try something" she blurted out suddenly. She could trust him right? If he could help her prove that she did only feel one kind of emotion, then maybe she would let her conscious be at ease

Neely sputtered and stared at her. "Wh-what? Why would I...?" he looked at her confused and wondered what she was trying to do now. "Uh..." he groped for something mean to say to her and came up blank. "What sort of thing do you want me to say?" he said, wondering how he was going to say something mean to a pretty girl.

"I don't know...anything!" she said. She knew it would be hard for him, but he could do it. She had faith in him, even if it was just empty faith

Neely grasped at straws and looked around trying to think of something. "Uh..." he looked down and stared at her tail for a moment. "Your tail looks like a rat's tail!" he said quickly and as harshly as possible. It was all he could do from squeaking and blushing scarlet.

She pondered the statement for a moment and then sighed. That didn't work. She pondered it. She should have gotten mad. "Well that was a bust" she remarked. "But thanks for trying" she said as she flipped around, convinced she was only capable of feeling airy happiness and nothing beyond it...but then why the critical thinking? So confusing
